Почему именно так закончился сериал Сотня

«Сотня» (произносится как «Сотня») — американский постапокалиптический научно-фантастический драматический телесериал, премьера которого состоялась 19 марта 2014 года на канале The CW и закончилась 30 сентября 2020 года. Сериал, разработанный Джейсоном Ротенбергом, во многом основан на одноименной серии романов Кэсса Моргана.

В сериале рассказывается о группе выживших в постапокалиптическом периоде, в основном о группе подростков-преступников, в том числе Кларк Гриффин (Элиза Тейлор), Финн Коллинз (Томас МакДонелл), Беллами Блейк (Боб Морли), Октавия Блейк (Мари Авгеропулос), Джаспер Джордан (Девон Бостик), Монти Грин (Кристофер Ларкин), Рэйвен Рейес (Линдси Морган), Джон Мерфи (Ричард Хармон) и Уэллс Джаха (Эли Гори). Они одни из первых людей с космического корабля «Ковчег», вернувшихся на Землю после разрушительного ядерного апокалипсиса. Среди других главных героев - доктор Эбби Гриффин (Пейдж Турко), мать Кларк; Маркус Кейн (Генри Ян Кьюсик), член совета Ковчега; и Телониус Джаха (Исайя Вашингтон), канцлер Арк и отец Уэллса.

Спустя девяносто семь лет после того, как разрушительный ядерный апокалипсис уничтожил почти всю жизнь на Земле, тысячи людей теперь живут на космической станции, вращающейся вокруг Земли, которую они называют Ковчегом. Три поколения родились в космосе, но когда системы жизнеобеспечения включились Ковчег начинает выходить из строя, сто несовершеннолетних заключенных отправляются на Землю в последней попытке определить, пригодна ли она для жизни или хотя бы сохранить ресурсы для оставшихся жителей Ковчега. Они обнаруживают, что некоторые из них пережили апокалипсис: земляне, которые жить в кланах, ведущих борьбу за власть; Жнецы, еще одна группа землян, которых горцы превратили в каннибалов; а горцы, живущие на горе Везер, произошли от тех, кто заперся перед апокалипсисом...

Некоторые фанаты сериала "Сотня" считают его финал неуместным. "Да, нравится, что Лекса вернулась, а главный состав остался вместе, - говорят фанаты. - Но финал оказался ... дешевым".

Да, на протяжении всех 7 сезонов никогда не было ничего сверхъестественного (если, все же не считать более продвинутых технологий, чем у нас сейчас, и даже были сверхмыслительные процессы с перенесением сознания в другое тело,  космические корабли, "город света", искусственный интеллект "ALIE"), но закончилось все сверхъестественным сюжетом с совершенно новой концепцией, которая никогда не была исследована или объяснена должным научно образом (что такое  «свет», кто такие "пришельцы"?). Сквозная тема сериала - выживание людей. Человеческая борьба, ущербная и несовершенная, но человечная. Но в конце авторы сериала рассказывают, что решение, смысл всей этой борьбы ... "приходит с неба".

Но, все же, финал "Сотни" как раз в духе финала сериала "Звездный крейсер Галактика" (новой версии)! Последнего только штриха в "Сотне" не хватает: "- Как мы назовем нашу планету?" - "Кобол!".

Кобол, как известно, это название родины Двенадцати Колоний в космической опере "Звездный крейсер Галактика", откуда люди совершили когда-то исход и путь к которому ищут герои сериала (но находят нашу Землю).

Почему я вижу "Сотню" как приквел к сериалам "Звездный крейсер Галактика" и "Каприка"? 

Выжившим героям сообщили, что у них не будет детей и они просто умрут. Рэйвен, Индра, Джиа, Октавия, Левитт, Джордан, Хоуп, Мерфи, Эмори, Эхо, Найла, Миллер и Джексон решили вернуться из трансцендентного мира, зная, что у них никогда не будет детей или ухода в трансценденцию, когда они умрут. Они не хотели, чтобы Кларк была одна, после всего, что она пожертвовала ради них своей душой и даже собиралась смириться с тем, что останется одна до конца своей жизни - «Я терплю это, поэтому им (терпеть) не нужно»...

Так что теперь они могут провести остаток своей жизни в своем МИРЕ. У них есть мир, в котором они живут. Они живут счастливо вместе, как одна семья. Впервые в жизни у них нет правил или законов, которым нужно следовать, нет войн, нет земли, за которую нужно сражаться, нет людей, которых нужно спасать.

Но все же они - люди! Поэтому просто были вынуждены стать  творцами нового человечества и его новыми богами - изначальными биониками (гуманоидными сайлонами; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cylon_(Battlestar_Galactica) ).

Кстати, аббревиатура STO (Soldiers of The One) (название каприканско-сайлонской церкви) переводится на русский как "сотня". И их символ, как и сквозной символ в "Сотне", - это знак "инфинити" ("безграничность").

В "Сотне" существует уже прямая отсылка к одной из религий - в последнем сезоне планета выжившего человечества названа "Бардо", то есть именем чистилища душ в тибетской буддийской традиции. Поэтому почему бы не иметь место и Коболу, которая, как известно, является анаграммой названия планеты Колоб (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kolob ), на которой, согласно доктрине мормонов, живет бог?

The 100 (pronounced The Hundred ) is an American post-apocalyptic science fiction drama television series that premiered on March 19, 2014, on The CW and ended on September 30, 2020. The series, developed by Jason Rothenberg, is loosely based on the novel series of the same name by Kass Morgan.

The series follows a group of post-apocalyptic survivors, chiefly a group of criminal adolescents, including Clarke Griffin (Eliza Taylor), Finn Collins (Thomas McDonell), Bellamy Blake (Bob Morley), Octavia Blake (Marie Avgeropoulos), Jasper Jordan (Devon Bostick), Monty Green (Christopher Larkin), Raven Reyes (Lindsey Morgan), John Murphy (Richard Harmon), and Wells Jaha (Eli Goree). They are among the first people from a space habitat, the Ark, to return to Earth after a devastating nuclear apocalypse. Other lead characters include Dr. Abby Griffin (Paige Turco), Clarke's mother; Marcus Kane (Henry Ian Cusick), a council member on the Ark; and Thelonious Jaha (Isaiah Washington), the Chancellor of the Ark and Wells' father.

Ninety-seven years after a devastating nuclear apocalypse wipes out almost all life on Earth, thousands of people now live in a space station orbiting Earth, which they call the Ark. Three generations have been born in space, but when life-support systems on the Ark begin to fail, one hundred juvenile detainees are sent to Earth in a last attempt to determine whether it is habitable, or at least save resources for the remaining residents of the Ark. They discover that some survived the apocalypse: the grounders, who live in clans locked in a power struggle; the Reapers, another group of grounders who have been turned into cannibals by the Mountain Men; and the Mountain Men, who live in Mount Weather, descended from those who locked themselves away before the apocalypse.

Some fans of "The Hundred" consider its ending to be irrelevant. "Yes, I love that Lexa is back and the main line-up stayed together," the fans say. "But the ending was ... cheap."

Yes, throughout all 7 seasons there has never been anything supernatural (unless, nevertheless, we do not count more advanced technologies than we have now, and even there were super-thinking processes with the transfer of consciousness to another body, spaceships, a "city of light", artificial intelligence "ALIE"), but it all ended with a supernatural storyline with a completely new concept that has never been properly researched or explained scientifically (what is "light", who are "aliens"?). A cross-cutting theme of the series is human survival. Human struggle, flawed and imperfect, but humane. But at the end, the authors of the series say that the decision, the meaning of this whole struggle ... "comes from heaven."

But, nevertheless, the final of "The Hundred" is just in the spirit of the final of Battlestar Galactiсa (new version)! The last only touch in the "Hundred" is missing: "- What will we call our planet?" - "Kobol!".

Kobol, as you know, is the name of the homeland of the Twelve Colonies in the space opera "Battlestar Galactica", from where people once made their exodus and the path to which the characters of the series are looking (but finding our Earth).

Why do I see The Hundred as a prequel to Battlestar Galactica and Caprica?

The surviving heroes were informed that they would not have children and would simply die. Raven, Indra, Jia, Octavia, Levitt, Jordan, Hope, Murphy, Emory, Echo, Nialla, Miller and Jackson decided to return from the transcendental world knowing that they would never have children or go into transcendence when they died. They didn’t want Clarke to be alone, after all that she sacrificed her soul for them, and even was going to come to terms with the fact that she would be left alone for the rest of her life - "I tolerate this, so they (do not need to)"...

So now they can spend the rest of their lives in the WORLD. They have a world in which they live. They live happily together as one family. For the first time in their lives, they have no rules or laws to follow, no wars, no land to fight for, no people to save.

Yet they are humanity! Therefore, they were simply forced to become the creators of a new humanity and its new gods - the original bionics (Humanoid  Cylon; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cylon_(Battlestar_Galactica) ).

By the way, abbreviation STO (Soldiers of The One) (the name of the Caprica-Cylon Church) translates into Russian as "one hundred". And their symbol, like the end-to-end symbol in the "Hundred", is the "infinity" ("infinity") sign.

In the "Hundred" there is already a direct reference to one of the religions - in the last season the planet of the surviving humanity was named "Bardo", that is, the name of the purgatory of souls in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition. So why not take place for Kobol, which is known to be an anagram of the name of the planet Kolob (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kolob ), on which, according to Mormon doctrine, God lives?
