Cities of Khazaria. Kromos Estatium
======================
     The khazar cities here include not only those cities that were built by the khazar architects, but also those that were built before the arrival of the khazars, were used by the khazars for their needs and tasks for a long time.
=======================
Asenew town **
     The city was founded by the khazars, and was used to Kagan's parking lot, King, or nobles during the seasonal movement of cattle across the steppe.
     It was also referred to as Osenev and Sharukan. Previously, it was called something else.
     The location of the city is difficult to determine. Polovtsian khans did not stand still, and where they stayed for more than a season, or if there were negotiations with someone, this place was called the next capital of the polovtsian khanate, most often receiving the name Khan. So the same place of standing polovtsians could have several names, then Osenev, then Asenev, then Sharukan.
     Russian historiography is characterized by the localization of cities, especially if they were mentioned in the chronicles. The most likely place for Asenev is recognized as the bank of the Seversky Donets, in the horse crossing from Kharkiv, where the city of Chuguev now stands, was such a polovtsian Khan-Chugai.
     One of the sites of the Sharukan city of polovtsian fishermen localizes on the settlement of the Khazar-polovtsian type, ten kilometers from Kharkiv.
     Local historians sometimes localize the city of Asenev on the left bank of the Seversky Donets river near Krasny Oskol.
     There is a version embed Asenew town near the town of Izyum.
     There is a serious theory of the location of the city Asenew within the present-day Kharkov.
     It is known that in 1110 the city of Asenev was taken by the Grand Duke of Kiev Svyatopolk.
     Earlier, around 1108, the year monomials, too, took the city, but was then called Surucanu.
     According to legend, the city received its name in honor of the polovtsian khan, whose daughter Monomakh married his son Yuri. According to other sources, Asena was the daughter of this Khan. On this occasion, in the tale of bygone years, it is indicated that Yaropolk brought a daughter from the Don of the polovtsian or alanian Prince, who was unusually beautiful.
     The city of Asenev outlived its creators, the khazars, pechenegs, and kipchaks, and lasted until the Mongol Horde came to the Donetsk steppes.
     The population of the city was multi-ethnic and diverse religions, which was determined by the history of its origin. In the life of the city took part in the pechenegs, and the fugitive slavs, kumans, and khazars. But at the time when the city was called Asenev, the basis of its population were polovtsians, and the alans of yass were engaged in the craft.
     The сumans only came here to winter, and the alans lived here permanently. So in the winter there were more polovtsians, and in the summer yasses and slavs with khazars prevailed. Accordingly, there were many yurts, empty for half a year, but there were also stone structures where alan masters worked.
