Kazuo hashimoto bronze bust english
Kazuo Hashimoto was previously a student of NJIT and during his carrier as an inventor in a field of communication created his own company - INTEL CORPORATION and have had more patented inventions than famous Edison.
His most popular ones: “CALLER ID”; “ANSWERING MACHINE”, which even now had been used around the world. I’m sure, 95% of world population had no idea, that Kazuo Hashimoto was the one, who invented it!!!!!
After we signed a contract with the administration of NJIT, I received many photos to help me in my sculpture process.
I usually sculpt easy, but because photos were from his childhood to a time he already was in the hospital, it was not easy fir me to create one united symbol of Kazuo.
I made many sketches in pencil and few short, about a half an hour clay and I liked one drawing, which I used to make a final clay bust.
I must thank Daniel Henderson - his “right hand” in his office, who specifically flew from California, to suggest me to make some small changes in details of my final clay sculpture. He liked my concept and after few critical comments, in about thirty minutes my portrait was done.
After clay I made plaster cast, perfected it and brought to “EXCALIBUR” Foundry, near Brooklyn Bridge, where this bust was cast in bronze and patinated.
Than I made sketch of a pedestal and guided owner of a Marble company in Rahway, New Jersey, nice man, owner- Joe, who in a week made a green marble pedestal to fit a plaque with description of Kazuo Hashimoto’s achievements.
The brass plate I ordered in Newark in one engraving company.
During the official opening of my bronze sculpture, wife of Kazuo Hashimoto arrived from Japan.
My sculpture now is a permanently has a place right near the Library of NJIT in Newark, New Jersey, YSA.
