Summer Magic

Summer means smells:
Cold, heady, warm.
Mint, robinia pseudoacacia, linden, jasmine, reed, calamus.
The sun also seems to smell.
It smells nettle, plantain, clover, oak barrel with water.

Summer means sounds.
It sounds on meadows, in swamps, in the woods.
It sounds under the roof, in the bushes of elderberry, on the mound.
Here is a nightingale, there is a cuckoo.
Yellow-billed squeaks: sparrows, swallows, swifts, snipes.
Only crows are silent, listening to the frogs
madly glorifying Eros, summer, life.

Summer means touches of:
hay, straw, hair of a beloved woman.
Dew, oregano and thyme.

Summer means colors of:
sky and herbs, sea and flowers, vineyards and fields.

Summer means sunflowers and tea roses.
Summer means mallows and poppies.
Summer means a miracle-gift for a long winter,
which we're going to survive.
