Accumulate and Implement Good Ideas

Good ideas come and go.
The human brain is good at noticing patterns, and generating creative ideas,
but it is not a good information storage device.

If we don’t write our good ideas down, we often lose them and so then we mentally go round in circles.
When we write our ideas down, it takes us to the higher level of thinking.
Don’t rely heavily on your memory; it will fail when you need it most.
The shortest pencil is more reliable than the best memory.

Develop the habit of writing good ideas down.
Consider a piece of paper as an extension of your memory.
Develop the habit of thinking on paper, and your thinking processes will improve.
Actually, by taking notes we train our brain to look for good ideas and to accumulate them.

Keeping a lot of routine tasks in mind keeps our brain preoccupied,
thus reducing its capacity for acquiring and processing new information.
Writing down our plans for the coming day or week, frees the capacity of our brain, that can be used for finding effective solutions.

Write your goals, ideas and tasks down.
Writing down everything that needs to get done in a week,
which is called mind-dump, allows us to better see our priorities.

Remember the ‘80-20’ Pareto rule.
About 80% of our income and success comes from about 20% of our work. Sometimes it is the ‘90-10’ rule.
Writing our goals down allows us choose our priorities more wisely, taking into account the bigger picture.
Identify your highest priority task and stay focused on it until it is complete.
Review your written goals on a regular basis, re-focus and stay flexible.
