     Once, a beggar came to a rich man asking for alms. The rich man gave nothing to him, also he said:
- Go away!
      However the beggar didn't leave him. Thus, the rich-man had got angry. His contempt was cast stones at the beggar and a real stone was thrown in addition.
      The poor-man took up with the stone. He said:
- Well! I will nurses a hidden grudge against you as long as it necessary. I don't know how long the time it will take, however I will get the appropriate moment to throw it back, to turn it to you.
      Thus, he harbored ill will toward the rich-man until that rich one lost everything he had.
      The rich man did a bad deed and he was taken in a prison, he lost even his shirt.
      While the rich-man was conveying to prison, the beggar took the stone out from behind his bosom, going to throw it back to the rich-man.
      However, he stopped himself, he was thinking for a while and then, he threw the stone off, on the ground, adding with his words:
- I have been nursing a hidden stone for a long time. I respected this man when it was rich. It is just a pity to see him now. What a poor and unhappy man he is! (I don't want to get even my stone dirty with him...)

Лев Толстой. «Камень» — быль

    Один бедный пришёл к богатому и стал просить милостыню. Богатый не дал ничего и сказал:
— Поди вон! Но бедный не уходил. Тогда богатый рассердился, поднял камень и бросил им в бедного.
    Бедный поднял камень, положил за пазуху и сказал:
— До тех пор буду носить этот камень, пока не придётся и мне бросить в него.
    И пришло это время. Богатый сделал дурное дело у него отняли всё, что у него было, и повезли в тюрьму.
    Когда его везли в тюрьму, бедный подошёл к нему, вынул из-за пазухи камень и замахнулся; потом пораздумался, бросил камень наземь и сказал:
— Напрасно я так долго носил этот камень: когда он был богат и силён, я боялся его, а теперь мне жалко его.
