Love and Money
I was working on a little task and Yana was playing in another room, when I heard that she started crying.
“What happened?” he asked her.
She said that she was playing with some coins, and
She accidentally dropped her favorite coin behind the back of the sofa and she wasn’t able to find it.
She got upset because she had (been a little careless and) lost some of her valuable savings.
My thoughts were racing… I was looking for some magic words to calm her down…
On the other hand, I thought that it might be an opportunity to teach Yana a useful ! life lesson.
So, I said: “Don’t worry, darling… It is only money.
You see… In business sometimes people make a mistake and then they lose some money as a result.
Getting upset doesn’t help, but
If we stay cool, pull ourselves together and stay focused (on our goals), we can make more money.”
! Yana: "Daddy, but how do we make money?” Yana asked me still through her tears.
I said: "Mostly, we make money by helping people achieve their goals that is what they want and need).
To make good money, we need to stay a little funny. Ha-ha!” - I tried to entertain her.
“Come on… Take it easy! Perhaps that coin is not the most important thing in the world!
Getting upset about unimportant things doesn’t help.”
I still could see some tears on her face.
! Yana: “Daddy, but what is important (then)?” she asked me.
“Well… (1.) Staying healthy is more important than getting upset about a small piece of metal.
2. Being able to keep good friends is important.
! 3. Love, of c-o-u-r-s-e. Love is important!” and miraculously Yana calmed down.
About a week later, I had a stroke of luck.
I finally received my payment for my 6-month work on the project.
Well… It was a considerable amount of money.
I invited my best friends and decided to throw a little party.
The courier (from Glovo) delivered us some food…
I paid the courier and put my briefcase with the money on the table in the living room.
Perhaps I forgot to zip up my briefcase… but it wasn’t a big deal.
We went to have our little party in another room. It was a little wind day.
I was enjoying talking to my friends... when I saw some notes like autumn leaves drifting by my window…
Wait a minute... I had had just a half of a glass of champagne... I couldn’t be hallucinating like that.
I quickly looked out of the window. I live on the 7th floor. I couldn’t believe his eyes.
I saw a small crowd of people who seemed were mesmerized watching my money falling from the sky.
I rushed into the living room.
My daughter was standing by the window and it seemed she was holding some pieces of paper in her hands.
I quickly looked into my briefcase.
She had thrown out of the window nearly all the money out of my briefcase.
That is all that is left.
I turned to my daughter: "What are you doing?" I tried to keep my voice down - not to shout very loudly.
My daughter looked at me with her innocent eyes and said: "Daddy, but you said money is not very important.
Just take it easy… stay cool... help some people to achieve their goals… and you will make even more money!"
