The chunk 113 The message -573-

The sharp voice of an Algerian pilot cut through the tight, noisy cloud of the cabin. She ordered everyone to keep a distance, put on masks, and announced readiness for takeoff.
The fat passenger, who thoroughly sat next to Ahmed, was politely forced by a pretty young steward-guy to move to an empty seat at a distance of 1.5 meters between people.
The thick aroma of her greasy body was still lingering next to Ahmed's chair when the brand-new blue-and-white liner took off.

The message -278-
Hello Ahmed.
Beauty...beauty of people...I still cannot understand its sources. On the one hand, when I see one person I think his/her features are beautiful, but starting researching the beauty I see some kind of disharmony in some parts of the beauty.
There are at least three types of face beauty.
One when the parts of the whole are not ideal, not delighting, but the whole impression is fine and has what some people call gestalt (when the whole impression can be more or less than part of it) and this gestalt from such faces is better than expected.
The other faces seem ugly or usual for the beginning, but single parts of their faces are graceful. My attention starts to jump from the gestalt impression of the face that reduces my delight to the particular fine eye or the nose that are incredibly beautiful. I feel puzzled, not being able to make a conclusion if the face is fine or ugly.
And the third  type joins fine features with beautiful single forms.
The most interesting and the most often met is the second type. Interesting because in its duality I see the enigma of human perception. It is interesting not only for me. It stops the eyes of many other people. First type of beauty tends to be disappointing by the lack of perfection or admiration that depends on if the observer is prone to one or to another mood at the moment. And the reasons for the mood could be a billion. But more often such faces are immediately defined as beautiful in middle measure. And the third type seems to be an angel, god-like, not-earth, alien, cosmic face. I rarely saw such beauty. It could make one afraid or admired.
Faces of different nations are different, the same as cultures. There's so many difficulties in the apprehension of beauty. I met so many people who preferred exotics for their country's beauty. Black love White, Chinese  love big-eyed people, Arabians are into light blue water eyes, Ukrainian girls love deep brown eyes, black hair and sunburned skin of Asiats. This cosmopolitanism comes because modern people of different nations have a big bag of experience of seeing aliens for their nation's people, and got used to them. But I met an AfroAmerican guy who had seen a white woman at the age 12 living in the US ghetto. He was struck by her beauty. Why? How is it possible that the alien nation's beauty can attract? Obviously such a face is so far from one is used to see, it should repel and seem strange as an alien culture could.
Here I see there is something that makes a revolution, an overturn in personal vision. The ugliness becomes a beauty.
Have you ever seen white black albino? Why do they seem disgusting not only to black, but to white people too?  I would like to know.
People could invent reasons why someone or something is beautiful or just call the things or faces beautiful and somehow it comes that most parts of society call it beautiful many times, it will be called by billions as beautiful. People educate or, it is better say, calibrate their sense of beauty. For example, in Japan: before Europeans came here, the Japanese’s vision of beauty was different. They didn't notice the beauty of landscapes that opened from mountains, they were afraid of the sea, their women made their teeth black and faces white, for the peak of beauty was to be like everybody, not to be noticeable. They despised eating fish and fishermen stood in the lowest level of hierarchy in Japanese society. Tuna were eaten by dogs only. Now it is the fish of kings. This is to the question of the nobility of food…due to the fact that nobility and beauty are very close, however: nobility (which one of the meannings?) is an artificial and unnatural way of creating beauty, a kind of a vaccination.
