Syphilis, hand washing and killing of elefants

Once I had read an article on poach killing of elephants in Africa and decided to write my review.

Well, the subject important enough. But, if you ask me, initiatives to safe elephants all totally are nonsensical and similar to hand washing against syphilis of the last stage.

So here's what I'm going to say on this subject.

Now I am sitting near my home stove which I heat with coal. The 12 liter volume of coal in a galvanized bucket. I'm raking it with a metal scoop. Some woodlices are crawling on pieces of this coal. Together with coal, I throw them into the red-hot firebox of the furnace. I have time to notice how these woodlices die in agony, falling on hot coal.

Why do I heat my house with coal when I have gas heating? It's easy-peasy! Because it's cheaper! And why the woodlices are crawling in the coal? Because sometime in the autumn they climbed into the pile of coal in my yard. It is black, heats up from sunlight and keeps heat inside the pile for a long time even in winter frost.

In other words, the woodlices made their such a tragic choice long before their painful death, despite my indifference to their suffering. And no moral and ethical torment or Buddhist values will stop me when the issue of heating my home is much more important than the existence of this part of woodlice population, what once decided to spend the last winter time in the pile of coal.

Extrapolating this existential sketch to the situation with elephants and their extermination by poachers, I want to say that they will still be hunted and sooner or later they will disappear completely, despite vain attempts to protect them. This is the law of the survival of the fittest.

People became the strongest when they ceased to be monkeys. They climbed down from the trees, mastered all the spaces on this planet and, like woodlices tried to find warmth.

They climbed into the skins of the animals they killed. And, it's important to notice, that the situation with Cain and Abel does not in any way draw on the first murder. Killings and even the total destruction and disappearance of entire families of animal species have always existed. Sometimes such a sudden extermination of some animals by others takes on a mass character with the expectation of a food supply. You should remember wolfs, what kill all sheep to eat just two or three.

People moved on. Our aspirations to replenish our reserves in a number of situations and civilizational circumstances have grown into banal greed. We, as a species that has come to a standstill, are not capable of getting away from it.

Even if the national parks in Kenya, Uganda, Nigeria will be fenced off by the Chinese Great Wall and poachers lose the opportunity to illegally hunt elephants, these animals will still be killed because of their tusks, which once, long time ago became attractive to humans, like a pile of coal for woodlices in my yard.

In the case of the Great Wall of China, access to such luxury values as tusks will be owned by very, very rich people who can manipulate even the principles of moral design.

If we recall the analogy with Sherwood Forest, deer hunting was forbidden to commoners, but Robin Hood, who helped and feв the poor people and destitute, was a poacher.

Moreover, I want to draw your attention to the fact that mass extinctions have repeatedly occurred on this planet. We can’t blame the meteorites raining down on our heads because of this! Although, theoretically, they also hunt us! And, it has been proven, sometimes they succeed.

In any case, remember, you will all die anyway! Pray and repent!

I also condemn poachers quite angrily, I sincerely blame them.

But... There is something to think about. Really!

A simple example from the Soviet period, when everything around was publicly common.  At the enterprises of light and heavy industry there was a problem of "carriers", who stole and carried goods, details, tools and spare parts from plants and factories on a massive scale, which significantly affected the planned economy of the huge country.

Only employees of the departmental security could fight this problem.  And the management of plants and factories turned blind their eyes to the facts of petty theft by employees of the departmental security itself.  Because  its volumes were well below the "carriers" problem.

In other words, until each animal has no a personal owner who is able to provide a safe habitat and claim the protection of their rights on serious legal grounds, up to the use of weapons to defeat violators, until then there will be poachers.

Of course, our society is not yet ready to accept this obvious fact.

Although, in 2020, during the beginning of quarantine condition of the country, whole the UshKonyr gorge, what lays southerly of the village of the same name in the Karasai district of the Almaty region, well-known persons from a well-known family fenced off an entire high-mountain plateau under a far-fetched and appropriately designed pretext.  On a vast territory there are servants armed with military weapons, and undisturbed deer and gazelles are jumping across the natural expanses.

Accordingly, until recently, no one thought of illegal hunting there, and not a single poacher was caught there, because the danger of facing an answer before that family was many times worse than facing the law.

It is likely that in the near future the time will come for that family to pay off on legal requirements and the occupied spaces will be taken away from them under no less plausible pretext.  And, as a result, everything that is "acquired by overwork" will go to dust.

Poachers will appear, and deer and gazelles will be served with baked apples in restaurants in Almaty.

By the way, I have nothing to do with that clan.

Sorry for my French, but...

One more black joke story about the future fate of elephants, which are the objects of poachers hunting.

Once lieutenant Rzhevsky (a popular in the USSR, then in Russia and other CIS countries, a literary, cinematographic, theatrical, humorous and folklore character. A lot of people think that he is a so-called hero from War and Peace Novel by Leo Tolstoy. But in reality, he is a hero of a play in two parts by Alexander Gladkov "A long time ago", 1940) met his friends after came back from Amsterdam.

They asked him to tell them an interesting story from his travelling.

- A day before I decided to come back to the motherland I was walking on the street of red flashlights in Amsterdam. One little and thin girl met and welcomed me to her cabin. She told me about her difficult life, terrible years spent in an ugly orphanage, about her poor parents, ill brothers and sisters. And me was crying.

- And what was the next?

- I continued cry and sexing.

C'est la vie!
