Is it our weakness that caused this tragedy?

I remain convinced that much of the blame for this brutal Russian aggression against Ukraine lies with the Central Asian republics. It was the unrealized human and other potential of this vast region, which is also suffering from its own internal conflicts and unresolved problems, that led the Russian leader to the erroneous opinion that it would be very easy to seize Ukraine - if not in three days, then within three weeks the whole country would be within Russia.
Of course, Central Asia is on second place for Putin, or even third after the Baltic republics. And perhaps on the fourth place - after Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan. Although there are politicians in Russia who would like to break with Central Asia altogether, I never believed that their positions would be strong enough.
Be that as it may, despite the great economic successes of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, our region has not turned over 30 years of free development into a kind of global economic and political force.
And the main reason lies in the political, economic, cultural, infrastructural disunity of the Turkic republics of the region.
I am more than sure that there would have been no war in Ukraine if the countries of our region had come out as a united front against Russia's aggression in Ukraine.
For the Russian leader and the Russian people as a whole, the condemnation of this war by the countries of the EU and America and even the entire West is not so significant - Russia is used to such a confrontation. But if, with the same decisiveness as little Estonia, Uzbekistan, together with Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, opposed the war, it would quickly end. And if Putin knew about such a reaction, then the war might not have started at all.
Of course, the main responsibility for this tragedy lies with the Russian people, who continue to support their leader. But after them, the inhabitants of our region and, first of all, our rulers are to blame.
Be that as it may, the war is going on in the territory that was common to us not so long ago and between the peoples who
 are historically close to us.
600 years ago, as it well known, Tamerlane saved Europe from Bayazet, postponing the fall of Constantinople for 50 years. It was  a glorious time for Central Asia, when one Turkic superpower defeated another.
Today, it seems that only by uniting all the Turkic countries of the region and the world and their close integration with Europe and the West will be possible to build a new world order and a secure future for us and our children.
