Today, I’m going to use English to make a note; in an hour, there is gonna be the meeting of the club, so I guess it would help me prepare for it. I had some interesting thoughts while coming to the place (now, I’m at ICC), and now I want to describe them. In short, they may have a headline, “Ego vs The World.” It’s fair to say that egos, or individuals, can’t survive longer than a hundred plus a little bit more years, whereas the world has been around who the hell knows how long. Hence, when there is a clear evidence that somebody’s actions cause harm to the world, these actions must be considered as wrong because ultimately egos are nothing and the world is everything. The problem with this argument is that we may ask, “Why should we prefer something to nothing?” Even if a man finds something that benefits the world and dedicates his life to “produce” as much of it as he can, even if he transcends his identity and learns to perceive himself as if there were no difference between the world and his “true” self—sacrificing sometimes his personal pleasure for the wellbeing of others (whom he also considers as part of himself according to that logic)—he still may be viewed as rational only if he truly believes that there is an absolute goal in existence, that he’s already figured out what that goal is and knows without doubt that his actions lead him towards it. But if the world is infinite both in time and space, which is hardly possible to argue against, how can it be that it has an absolute goal?
