It was during his engagement with Louise Lacuee de Cessac (granddaughter of General Jean-Girard Lacuee , Count of Cessac , Minister of War under Napoleon I ).) that Roger Sauvage (Anne-Aymone's great-grandfather) requested on April 27, 1863, and obtained, by a decree datedAugust 6, 1863, to add to his patronymic the name "de Brantes", extinct in 1848 with the death of the paternal grandmother of his future wife Louise-Augustine du Blanc de Brantes (and heiress of the castle of Brantes, in Sorgues in the Vaucluse ). Their descendants acceded to the papal nobility by a papal brief of May 19, 1898, by which Leo XIII granted their son Paul de Brantes (grandfather of Anne-Aymone) his title of Roman Marquis of Brantes.

Baron of Langoiron
(Guillaume Daffis)
Advisor to the Parliament of Toulouse, then mortar president of the Parliament of Bordeaux
Died in September 1653

He died without posterity, after having played, during the troubles of his province, a role variously appreciated by historians. (G.Hazard)
JBLG 8/17/2012: At that time, in these circles, the mention "to die without posterity" must be "translated" by "without male legitimate posterity" .. only "important", the girls transmitting only the goods and not surnames...

His son-in-law, Marquis de Jumilhac (thanks to the financial advantages of the father-in-law), gave him numerous descendants.

"Malta's evidence" is often to be taken with a grain of salt...

During the First World War, Count Abel Armand, captain of the French 2nd Bureau, was instructed by his staff to initiate talks with Austria with a view to a separate peace.
