Ginseng little men. White witch
Today I will finally tell you about the Bokkai Goku competition. The competition was held in a beautiful temple. The temple was built on the shores of the Golden Trepang Bay. In those distant times, people were afraid of the abbots of temples. It was believed that wizards lived in the temples. And they do magic! And it was the pure truth.
There were two temples in Yongmingchen. The Red Priestess lived in one, the White Shaman lived in the other. Therefore, the temples were called Red and White. In those distant times, white meant grief and sadness. And also the white color was associated with everything evil and insidious. Red color meant joy, birth and celebration.
So, we have already found out that the inhabitants of Yongmingchen were reluctant to visit temples located on the highest hills. If the Red Witch was still sometimes addressed in urgent cases, then they tried never to turn to the White Witch. Only dashing people, but people with unclean thoughts, knew the secret path leading to the temple of the White Shaman.
But the city needed a place where any resident could come without fear. And King Yongmingchen decided to build another temple. No services were held in this temple. It had no priests or priestesses. Solemn meetings were held in this temple. There were also concerts and competitions.
However, the king took seriously the choice of the place where the temple would stand. Sorcerers and magicians from distant lands were invited. But the opinions of the magicians were so different that the king was left in confusion. He generously rewarded the sorcerers and sent them home. Having learned about the difficulty of the king, the Red Witch offered her help. The White Shaman came after her and also promised to help.
For a whole week the king thought. Ministers and advisers hung around in the deliberative chamber day and night. However, the opinion of the advisers for some reason did not satisfy the king, and he announced his visit to the queen. The queen was a wise woman. The king valued his wife's opinion, but rarely turned to her for advice.
I don't know why this happened!
Maybe the king was jealous and didn't like that his wife was so smart? The relationship between the king and queen was very complicated. The king was a hero and many times won the battles of his enemies. The queen was wise and could solve any difficult problem. The king did not like that the queen was so perceptive and resourceful, although the ruler of Yongmingchen sincerely loved his wife.
And so the king went to the palace of the queen. The palanquin with the king had long been marching through the streets of Yongmingchen, and the army that accompanied him went on and on. Finally, the soldiers reached the outer fence of the queen's palace, and surrounded the palace. An hour or two passed, and the soldiers stood motionless. They were proud of the honor that fell to their lot.
Finally, the palanquin with the king solemnly floated out of the gates of the palace. The king looked out of the window of the palanquin and waved to the general. The army was on the move. Soon the column of soldiers set off on their way back. The king was not pleased. He did not expect his wife to be able to find a solution to a complex problem so quickly.
Soon messengers were sent to both witches. The white shaman and the red witch received permission. For two weeks, the witches, along with their henchmen, wandered around the outskirts of the city. They wandered into the city itself.
The inhabitants of the city hid in their homes, as soon as a female figure in a red or white cloak appeared on the streets. As I said, the inhabitants of the city were afraid of magicians and witchcraft. Two weeks passed. Soon, both nuns-priests asked for an audience. Permission has been granted.
The white witch was invited to an audience on Saturday, the red one on Monday.
Sunday was considered an unlucky day in Yongmingchen. Both women announced that the site for the temple had been chosen. Moreover, it turned out that their choice fell on the same heel of the earth. The king was so amazed by this circumstance that he immediately ordered the treasurer to give the women three gold bars each, and indicated to the minister of construction the place where the future temple would be located. The construction of the temple began eighteen months ago and was completed in record time. Just in time for the birthday of the heir and heirs of the king. And now the temple was almost built. The temple had five rooms.
The central hall was Yongmingchen Hall. Halls departed from it with beams: Chinese, Japanese, Korean and ... And the hall of the people of Butramoussa. Long ago, at the dawn of time, even before the Bohai and Jurchens reigned, the meek people of Butramoussa lived on these lands. It was so long ago that it's scary to remember. Many centuries ago, the Yellow Emperor Huangdi ruled the lands of China.
So, the state of Butramuss appeared long before Huangdi entered the kingdom. If the state of Butramousse is so ancient, then how did the king of Yongmingchen know about its existence, you ask? I have an answer to this question. In this state, all the inhabitants spoke in verse. The Butramousse language was a dead language, but the stories of the Butramousse people were passed down from generation to generation. Oral tales, songs and poems did not let people forget about the state of Butramuss. The lullabies of the Butramouss people were sung to their babies by the mothers of Yongmingchen.
The inhabitants of this state calledBya Butramoussa, or Moussa. Poems that were composed for any reason had to be sung. The fifth hall in the temple of fulfilled desires was dedicated specifically to the people of Butramuss. Progenitor of the entire yellow race.
The Chinese, Korean and Japanese halls of the temple were lavishly decorated. Everywhere there were wooden sculptures, flowers, incense was burned. Of course, the halls were different from each other. The decorators made sure that national motifs were accurately reflected in the construction and decoration of the halls. Everyone was afraid to offend the delegations. When all four halls were ready, the question arose of decorating the Butramousse hall. Idea after idea was expressed, but the end of the region was not foreseen for disputes. The fact is that apart from poems and songs, not a single book, not a single picture has been preserved showing what life was like in a great state. The king went back to the palace to the queen. The visit lasted no more than six hours. The king returned to his chambers very pleased. The queen could not answer her husband anything definite. It was the first time that a wise woman had hit a dead end. The king, as befits a generous spouse, gave his wife a day to think, and he himself departed home.
He was sure that the queen would not be able to come up with anything. However, the problem was nevertheless solved. When the king came for a visit the next day, the queen gave her husband a verbal answer. She even sketched a plan for the Butramousse Hall. Barely a glance, the king immediately gave the plan to the minister of construction. And the work in the last hall of the temple began to boil. Can you guess who helped the upset Queen Mother? Of course, our legendary four are a prince and three princesses. They went up the hill to the Red Witch, and she told them something.
Now the children knew how to decorate the hall. But for this it was necessary to get a sapling of a tree, the leaves of which the Mousses ate. Everything would be fine, but such a tree grew only near the temple of the white priestess. It is not known whether the white shaman knew about the sacred tree that grew in the backyard of her temple, but it was deadly dangerous for children to appear near the white monastery. After the disappearance of her daughter, the White Witch hated the children even more.
The sacred trees of the Butramouss people were no different from ordinary trees. However, something unusual could be noticed in these trees. Moussa trees rooted in any soil, and a seedling with two tops, a small oblong cone, grew at the very top of the tree. Princess Peony wanted to send a bird for a seedling, she sent it, but the bird soon returned. Firstly, the shaman's eagle was on the alert, and secondly, the bump did not want to come off the top of the tree. It was like poured in.
Those who read the first story, about how royal children were born, probably remember about the underground passage of the queen. But you do not know another secret of the move. The underground passage led not only to the streets of the city, the Queen's underground passage also led to the palaces of her children. Two days before the holiday, Princess Plum suddenly remembered that she left a very necessary thing to participate in the competition in her palace. And she decided to go to her palace through a secret passage. After visiting the palace, Princess Plum took the necessary things and was about to go back. She passed through the inner chambers and down into the garden.
She found a crying girl in her garden. It was a Russian princess. The princess was temporarily placed in the palace of Princess Plum, and the princess herself, as you remember, while she lived with her brother and sisters in the palace of the mother-queen. The Russian princess has lost an important thing. It was a mask. The Russian princess has lost her mask. The mask was intended for a ball and a festive competition. The princess decided that she had lost her mask when she was walking in the garden. Princess Plum tried to find out why the princess was crying. But the Russian princess did not understand what Princess Plum was asking her about.
The princess recognized Princess Plum. No wonder, because the princess now lived in the palace of Princess Plum. The princess wept and pointed to the ground. She thought she had lost her mask while walking in the garden. Princess Plum tried to understand what the guest was talking about. When the princess realized that Princess Plum did not understand her, she found a wand on the ground, drew a mask and crossed it out. Princess Plum decided to take the princess with her.
The princess understood that the princess would soon be missed, but she could not leave the Russian girl in trouble. She took the princess with her through a secret passage. Princess Plum brought the princess to the chambers of Sister Peach. And she herself went to call her brother and Princess Pion. When everyone gathered, Princess Plum told about where she found the princess. The children could not understand what the little princess was talking about. Suddenly Princess Plum became alert, she heard her horse neighing. Princess Plum rushed to the exit, she decided that her horse was in danger. She had already run out of the room when Princess Peony's voice stopped her. Princess Peony said the horse was not in danger. She immediately understood what the horse wanted to say. The horse understood Russian. It was once brought to Yongmingchen City as a gift. The homeland of the horse was the Russian steppe. The horse handed overIncessa Pion that she can help. The horse promised to translate what the Russian princess was talking about.
The princess lost her mask, which was a gift for Yongmingchen's heirs. However, the mask was to be handed over only after the holiday. And during the holiday, the princess wanted to put on a mask so that no one would recognize her ahead of time. So ordered the king of Yongmingchen. During the holiday, everyone had to wear masks so that the competition was fair. And now, there was no mask!
Princess Peach asked her friend, the snake, to help her find the mask. The snake Rose tried to help the princess, but suddenly got scared and declared that the mask was not lost. The mask was stolen by the White Witch. Rosemary smelled witchcraft. The sisters wanted to solve the problem with the mask themselves, but Prince Ginseng said they simply didn't have time. The mask must be found in the next few hours.
The princes and princesses decided to seek help from a midwife who lived in the Red Monastery. The Red Witch greeted the children with alarm. She knew that something terrible was happening on the white hill. She felt that a formidable witchcraft was going on in the monastery of the White Shaman. The sorceress told the children to climb the hill where the White Monastery stood and peep what was happening there.
When the children secretly entered the White Monastery, they saw a really strange thing. The courtyard of the monastery was filled with dozens of animals. The shaman waved her hand and an eagle appeared. Descending from the sky, the eagle struck the ground and turned into a man with the head of a bird. The eagle's body was similar to that of a human. The eagle waved his hand, a huge number of birds descended from the sky, they carried masks in their beaks. The eagle began to put masks on animals, and animals began to turn into people. These people were similar to those who came to the holiday to the little princesses and the prince. When the whole courtyard was filled with fake people, the shaman took out the mask of the Russian princess and put it on her face. Putting on a mask, the shaman took on the appearance of a Russian princess. The astonished children saw the evil sorcery that the Red Priestess spoke of. The children returned to the Red Monastery shocked. They didn't know what to do now. The red sorceress said that the shaman had planned an unprecedented evil. The magic that the shaman called was so strong that the Red Witch simply had no chance of winning. Seeing that the children were almost crying, the woman pressed the babies to her and said that there was still a way out.
She recalled that all four children have their own magic, because the children are descended from the magical ginseng root. The red witch said that she knew for sure that one of the four children could sing beautifully. Princess Peony said that she often sings at parties for her father and mother.
The sorceress said that the children would face a decisive battle. She explained to Princess Peony what she needed to do. The princess had an excellent ear for music and knew many songs of the people of Butramousse. She went to the seaside. The musical mode in which the verses were sung was unlike any of the modes that exist on earth. If someone undertook to observe the girl now, the observer would be very surprised. Peony walked along the shore and silently opened her mouth, but not a sound came from the girl's mouth. Silent speech lasted about five minutes, then Pion leaned towards the waters of the river, took a mouthful of water, and continued to speak. It became audible, but the sound evoked strange dreams. Spitting out water, the girl continued to read poetry, but still, silently. Having reached a certain place in the poem, Peony looked around the forest with a thoughtful look. She needed a leaf plucked from a branch. However, the tree had to be stunted, thin, and the leaves from this tree had to be translucent when held up to the light.
Finally the tree was found. Choosing the smallest sheet, the girl carefully placed it in her mouth, and again began to read poetry! I can't tell what the sound made through the leaf was like. I just have nothing to compare! The sound was very beautiful, but still unusual. The chanting of the verses was finished just in time for the sun to rise. The last words of the poem were again spoken silently, but they were read like a hymn to the sun. Butramousse, a state that had a very complex language, died due to crop failure. The trees, which were supposed to share their leaves with the inhabitants of Butramousse, were beaten by hail. The leaves were tender and brittle. The hail swept across the country.
Trees were needed not only as a means to perform poetry. The leaves were used for food, the leaves were treated. The state of Butramoussa consisted of people who ate only plant foods. The people of Moussa ate the leaves from the sacred tree. Now these people would be called vegetarians. After the anthem of the people of Butramousse was sung, Princess Pion returned to her brother and sisters. And then they again went to the Red Witch. And now this moment has come. The Red Witch and the White Shaman met near a small earthen hill. In ancient times, the ancestral home of the people of Butramuss stood here.
The battle has begun. On the side of the White Shamanthere were masked animals and an army of eagles, from the side of the Red Witch - only four small children. Princess Peony stood with her brother and sisters by the hand. And then the princess sang the song of the people of Butramousse. The white shaman showed her army in masks, but the animals dressed in the guise of people could not resist the spirits of the people of Butramuss. Hearing the songs of Princess Peony, Butramousse trees began to sprout from the ground. The trees began to crowd the shaman and her army. Soon the white shaman realized that she was losing the battle. The eagle with his army tried to attack the prince and princesses, but the trees closed over the heads of the brave four. The shaman hastily left the city, her entire army ran after her. The masks have been dropped.
Butramuss trees will never let a white shaman into Yongmingchen again. After the battle, the Red Witch named Princess Peony Xi. She said that the name means "Singing in the language of the people of Butramousse." In a few minutes, on the site where the family home of the Butramuss people once was, a whole forest of sacred trees grew. And that was not all, in a few hours the sacred trees filled the hill, where once there was a white monastery. They loosened the soil in the courtyard of the white monastery, and soon an impenetrable forest was already rustling on the site where the monastery had once been.
Princess Peach picked up the mask of the Russian princess, and wrinkled her face, the mask smelled of evil witchcraft. After conferring with her brother and sisters, Princess Peach decided to leave the mask overnight in the terrarium. After talking with her snake, she got Roselet to agree to the fact that the mask lay next to her all night. Rose the Snake promised that she would draw the witchcraft from the mask and shed it along with her old skin.
Finally the holiday has come. The king and queen of Yongmingchen took their places on the throne, and only then did the celebration begin. The musicians were the first to take the stage. Each musician held his national instrument in his hands. There were five musicians. One of the musicians was a resident of Yongmingchen. The remaining four arrived along with foreign delegations
The musicians, a Japanese, a Korean, a Chinese and a Russian, bowed to the King and Queen and joined the Yongminchen musician who was already seated on the stage. The musicians had little time to learn and play the piece of music that was always played at the solemn ceremonies in Yongmingchen City, but they managed. The music that the musicians played was supposed to clear the hall of the temple of fulfilled desires from all the bad things that could accumulate during its construction.
Princess Peony stepped forward and sang. Her voice penetrated to the very heart and awakened in people all the best and most secret. And finally, the celebration began. Bokai-goku began with dancing. These were the dances of the left side and the dances of the right side. The dances of the left side were danced by people who arrived with the Chinese and Japanese delegations. The dances of the right side were performed by Koreans and Yongmingchen city court dancers. And also those who arrived with the Russian delegation showed their dance.
And then the literary competition began. Everyone who took part in the competition was wearing masks. So ordered the king of Yongmingchen. The ginseng four tried hard, but they didn't have time to seriously prepare for the competition, and they only finished fifth in the competition. The young prince of Japan was declared the winner. When the competition ended, it was announced that the birthday people would receive a gift from the Russian Tsar. The Russian princess stepped forward and brought out the mask. It was the same mask that the prince and princesses had returned to the Russian princess the day before. When the princess pulled the edges of the mask with both hands, it turned out that the mask consists of four layers.
This mask was made by skilled Russian craftsmen. As a result, each birthday boy received his own mask. Each of the masks had their own differences. The forehead of the mask was decorated with precious stones. The mask of Prince Ginseng was adorned with a jade gem. Princess Plum received a ruby ;;mask. Princess Peach saw that an emerald was set into her mask. And Princess Peony got a mask with a diamond.
The holiday ended abruptly. Everyone who was in the hall of celebrations and receptions was invited to the hall of the Butramuss people. People have been staring at this hall in bewilderment for a long time. Unlike the other halls, this hall was empty. Its only decoration was a carved pillar standing in the middle of the hall. The pillar was decorated with carvings and ornaments. Do you remember Lee, the man the prince and princess helped? The steward Li was then threatened with execution, and only the help of the four ginsengs helped Li avoid execution. Li had a younger brother Mo, Mo became friends with the prince and princesses, the children unraveled the secret of the broken vase and managed to save the steward Li. Princess Peony, or as she was named by the Red Witch, Princess Xi, asked Li to take part in the Butramousse ritual. The tree of the Butramuss people had two tops.
As soon as the cone from the top of the tree was placed in water, it immediately began to grow. Before the eyes of the guests, two long shoots climbed out of the water. Lee immediately pulled the shoots out of the water and wrapped them around a pillar that stood alone in the hall of the people of Butramousse. Shoots wrapped around stolb, and began to grow higher and higher. Soon the entire hall was covered with tree shoots. Finally their growth stopped. Flowers bloomed and fell. In place of flowers, fruits appeared. Round balls, the size of a lemon, hung down and froze. The Butramousse tree was ready to grant the wish of everyone in the hall. The fruits of the Butramousse tree really granted wishes. After the end of the holiday, the people of Yongmingchen often went to the temple and asked the sacred tree to grant their wishes. If you stroke the left fetus, then a girl could be born. Those who stroked the right fetus wished that a boy was born. But all this was after the Bokai-goku holiday. And what did the guests of the king of the city of Yongmingchen ask from the tree? They asked for a lot, but probably someone asked that this story not be lost in time. I fulfilled the wish of the unknown guest of the city of Yongmingchen and told everything as it really was.
