Synopsis for the story:
It was a troubled time. The people with whom the sisters lived reached the settlements-shelters. They did not live permanently in the settlements. The settlements served as a refuge from the attackers. They stood empty, and waited for new travelers and fugitives. There were many such settlements-detinets then scattered over the ancestral lands of the Slavs.
While the older sister, Drop of Dew, was walking with her friends in the forest, the younger sister, Smorodinka, heard Lel's pipe. The younger sister left for the song of the pipe. Smorodinka followed Lel into the very thick of the forest, but the frivolous Lel left the girl in the forest and fled after the birds.
Semargl - a fiery, yellow dog, did not like it when children were left unattended and took Smorodinka with him.
A drop of dew, the older sister, was looking for the younger one everywhere. Not alone looking, but with friends.
They met the god of autumn Dazhdbog.
They asked to show the way, which Semargl took the girl away. Dazhdbog promised to help the Dewdrop, but at first he asked for help himself. We had to finish the harvest. He asked to play Dozhinka's game.
Dazhdbog helped and opened the way for the girls. Dazhdbog warned that the path would be open until the girls entered the territory of the god of winter Svarog.
Svarog met the girls affectionately, without snowstorms and blizzards, but only with a light frost. Svarog promised to help. But for this the girls had to play a game with him. The girls fulfilled the request of Svarog, and the winter god kept his promise. He paved the sleigh path for the girls, but warned that the path would be easy only to the kingdom where the god of spring Khors reigned.
Horse showered the girls with flowers, blew them with a warm wind. The girls themselves invited Horse to play a game, for which Horse gave them an apple that rolled, rolled and rolled into the kingdom of the god of summer, to Yarilo.
Yarilo was in full swing, and he had no time for the girls' requests. But the girls' tears spoiled the weather, and in the summer every hour of the sun is expensive and Yarilo agreed to play with the girls.
