    CONVERSE, George Albert (13 May 1844 – 29 March 1909) was a rear admiral in the United States Navy, who was noted for his contributions to naval engineering. He saw service in the Spanish–American War.   
   
   CONVERSE, James (1645-1706) was a farmer, soldier, and officeholder in Massachusetts, distinguishing himself as a military leader during the French and Indian Wars. Prominent in public affairs, he also served as a speaker of the Massachusetts House of Representatives.
