Who knows if we re heading for better or worse?

Is scientific and technological progress a blessing or a test?

 Somehow, a very long time ago, I read one fantastic story, where the hero of the story ended up in the future, and what did he see?

 A planet completely empty of people, only robots around, with whom he began to communicate.

 He asked the exceptionally polite robots, where did the people from the planet go?

 The robots took our time traveler to huge hangars, where comfortable conditions are automatically maintained, temperature, humidity, fresh and clean air, and so on, and carcasses of meat covered with human skin lie in transparent capsules.

 - That's what people are!

 - It can't be, exclaimed our visitor from the past!

 - Yes, these are people, they just evolved, because we created ideal conditions for their existence, namely, you see, we implanted numerous electrodes into these shapeless bodies, and each electrode is responsible for its own area of ;;;;pleasure, and each such individual receives these pleasures carefully  we have developed a schedule, here is chic food, here are films, games, theater, books, sports competitions, shows, politics, disputes, discussions, that is, the virtual world in all its charms and pleasures, you don’t need to do anything, everything is for a person  we, robots, did it ourselves, only one thing left for a person on earth - pleasure, pleasure, and this is true biological happiness, but for us, robots, human happiness is a law that we can never break now, that's how we live!

 Our man with two legs and arms rounded his eyes, horror froze in those eyes!

 - What do not you like!?  - the robots were surprised, - We fulfilled the will of man, he ordered us to do everything for people!?  Here is the result, we are not to blame for anything here!

 - No, no, what are you, I understand you perfectly, there are no complaints against you, - the living person muttered and disappeared, apparently returned to the past, where people were still people, and while he was flying back, he was overcome by heavy thoughts -  what to do, what to do to save mankind from this happy horror of endless pleasures!?

 Does anyone now know what to do in order not to come to this, or let everything go its own way!?
