The Avar designation for the face has a connection with the dialectal names for the nose: гьомер, хамах, хумах, хумех, шумеш, хонех.

In addition, we noticed that in a number of cases the Avar fricative "gh" can correspond to the Mongolian “r”.For example, the Avarian word for "tail" (MAGH) is the Mongolian word for snake - MOGHOY, MOGHU, but Persian MAR it's "snake". And Avarian MOGH, dialectal MUGH "back" : Khalkha-Mongolian МОЬР (MO'R) "back, blunt part of something, such as a knife".

So the Avar dialect ХАМАХ (KHAMAKH) “nose” is without any doubt the Mongolian  ХАМАР (KHAMAR) “nose”.
