           Alexander Emelyanov - philosopher, scientist, artist

            The weblog Outsider Environments Europe presents:


     The artistic environment of Alexander Emelyanov in Samara, Russia, which emerged around 2011, is one of the most interesting in Russia, firstly because of its continuous thematic and large-scale development in recent years, but also because of the personality of its designer, who is not just an artist, but above all a philosopher and scientist.

      Emelyanov was born in 1964, Khojeyli (Karakalpakstan, USSR), in 1987. He graduated from the Tashkent Pediatric Institute, worked as an assistant in the department of childhood diseases (dissertation, paediatrics 1993), served in the RF Armed Forces as a medical service officer (1994-1998). Since 1998 he has lived in the village of Zubchaninovka (Samara region of the Russian Federation).

     Until he was 50, he worked as a doctor (teacher); since 2016, he defines his social status as a “free philosopher with pictures.”

       Attracted by the world of art, Emelyanov began painting in the naive style in the late 1990s as a self-taught artist. Over the years, he created several hundred paintings.

       Around 2006, Emelyanov added another approach to his creative work by exploring what he could create in the fields of architecture and sculpture from an art brut perspective.

       Nowadays (2023) his art environment on a plot of 800 sq.m.has  an abundance of art objects and in the house there is a variety of frescoes..

       His paintings and art objects have been repeatedly presented at various art exhibitions in Russia and are stored in private collections and the Museum of Naive Art (Moscow).

       Alexander considers his main scientific achievement to be the theory of Jesus of Alexandria, a secular reconstruction of the history of the New Testament, that he developed. Two e-books have been published on this topic: Jesus the Doctor of the Jews and The Philosophical Revolution in Judea: Philo and Jesus (2015-2016).
