Different paths to happiness...

“Happiness can come in two ways.

  The first way is external.

By acquiring a better home, better clothes, more pleasant friends, we can find happiness and satisfaction to one degree or another.

The second path is the path of spiritual development, and it allows you to achieve inner happiness.

However, these two approaches are not equivalent.

External happiness without internal happiness cannot last long.

If life is painted in black terms for you, if your heart lacks something, you will not be happy, no matter how much luxury you surround yourself with.

But if you have achieved inner peace, you can find happiness even in the most difficult conditions."

 Dalai Lama XIV

 Author.

I would argue with this statement, because happiness is so multifaceted that dividing it into just two conventional parts would be reckless...

For example, I have found spiritual happiness, but my life is full of hardships and physical suffering, then why do I need such spiritual happiness, to contemplate it and smile stupidly at everyone I meet, in this case I will look like a crazy person?

Happiness is in harmony when there is material well-being and the soul enjoys life!

I wonder what people are like who have achieved material well-being, but they cannot achieve spiritual well-being?

Or maybe they don’t need this spiritual happiness at all, material happiness is enough for them, and they look at us, striving for spiritual happiness, as fools with our heads in the clouds?

And in general, who will explain to me what spiritual happiness is, what it is like to fly in the skies without touching the ground with your feet?
