The mouse in the store
I did!
At that time we lived in a townhouse not far from the forest. Squirrels, mice, and chipmunks liked to spend time in our backyard.
It was an ordinary evening and I was shopping at the grocery store. Everything was as usual. I finished my list of things and I saw a long line at the cashiers. I decided to use self checkout. A few minutes later I knew that it was the best decision for me.
I scanned a couple things then opened a bag, my nice reusable bag (I hate plastic).
At the bottom of this bag I saw a little brown mouse. She was looking at me. Ohhh!
I closed the bag and then opened it again: the mouse was still there. No, it was not an illusion.
I didn't know what I should do with this mouse in the store. I just remembered that a lot of women are scared of this little animal. I didn’t want to be the cause of panic in the store. So I closed the bag tightly and put it in the cart slowly.
I finished with my purchase and went to the exit. I tried to be calm but I thought feverishly:
What should I do with this little mouse?
Drive her back home?
How did it get in my bag ?
Cool fall air refreshed me and I decided to leave the bag in the bushes and let the mouse decide on her own where she wanted to go. Maybe she also needs to do some shopping? Who knows!
On my way home I realized how this cute forest mouse got in to my bag. Apparently when I left bags for a 5 minutes on a back porch, mouse had a time to sneaked inside and hid.
I backed home and told my family what happened to me. At first they didn’t trust me, but I was so impressed and excited, they finally decided that it’s really happened with me!
Since that time I never leave my bags unattended on the back porch. Who knows what kind of creature may appear in my bag next time?
