Ultra-Short Stories

A story about how a man loved a woman, a woman loved a man, and all three were happy.

A story about how a certain Vasya recognized himself in Petya and was horrified.

A story about how someone wrote Something and did so utterly in vain.

A story of two inseparable friends, one of whom lived his entire life in Odessa, and the other in New York.

A story about a certain husband who returned from a business trip three days earlier than scheduled, and how these days turned into years for him.

A story about Gorbachev, who knew he had the map of Treasure Island on his forehead. He even had a hunch where the treasure was hidden but didn't know where the island itself was.

A story about Lenin, from whom nothing could be hidden. Especially, if it was of good quality. Sometimes he'd confiscate a bag of herbs from someone, lock himself in his office, and smoke it all up.

A story about Stalin, who in his old age farted a lot. He'd meet a member of the Politburo and fart. Meeting Beria, he might even mess himself.

A story about a Jewish Superman who flew six days a week, but the local orthodox rabbi wouldn't let him fly on the Sabbath, by analogy with an airplane. On this day, Superman wore an expensive, beautiful shirt that didn't need to be torn open at the chest.

A story about how in the second half of the 18th century in Germany, there were many composers who vainly tried to write music in the style of Bach. They were said to be "not Bach." From this, the local Jews picked up the expression "nebach."

A story about Karl Marx, who dearly loved the proletariat, but from a distance. After all, the proletariat usually smelled bad.
