The Tale of the Fisherman and the Goldfish

Once upon a time there was a fisherman named John, an honest and hardworking man. He lived in a small village by the sea, in a simple house with his wife Margaret. Every day John went fishing, trying to feed his family, as millions of Americans do, working for a better future.

One day John cast a net and pulled out not an ordinary fish, but a goldfish. The fish looked at him and spoke:

Listen, John, let me go, and I'll grant you three wishes.

John scratched his head and thought about what he needed. First of all, he wanted to help his people.

All right, fish," he said, "my first wish is that our village prosper, let everyone have work and food on the table.

The fish wagged its tail, and the village came to life: crops turned green in the fields, people found work, and prosperity appeared in the houses. John returned home and told Margaret about it.

John, that's great," she said, "but can't we ask for something for us too?

John decided that Margaret was right. The next day he went to the sea again and called the fish.

"Fish," he said, "my second wish is to make our house cozy and modern, so that Margaret will be happy.

The fish wagged its tail, and their house was transformed: there was comfort, modern amenities, everything you need for a comfortable life. Margaret was delighted.

A few days passed, and John realized that his last wish must be special, something that would help not only his family, but the whole country.

"Fish," he said, "my third wish is that all Americans live in peace, security and prosperity. May we have a strong economy and confidence in the future.

The fish wagged its tail, and changes began all over the country: the economy strengthened, jobs increased, people felt safe and confident.

John and Margaret lived happily, seeing their village and country flourish. John realized that strength lies in unity and support for each other, and that everyone can contribute to the common well-being.

This fairy tale reminds us that the future depends on our actions, that we must take care not only of ourselves, but also of our people. As one wise man said, "When we are united, we are strong, and together we can reach great heights."
