Планета 2208 Puskin — это астероид главного пояса, который был открыт 22 августа 1977 года советским астрономом Н. С. Черных в Крымской астрофизической обсерватории. 1 марта 1981 года этот астероид был назван в честь великого русского поэта А. С. Пушкина. Свой оборот вокруг Солнца данный астероид совершает за 5,76 земных года. В фондах музея имеется фотокопия почетного свидетельства Института теоретической астрономии Академии наук СССР о присвоении названия малой планете 2208 имени А.С. Пушкина от 23 февраля 1983 года.

2208 Pushkin Asteroid Mass and other Facts
2208 Pushkin is an asteroid that orbits the Sun.
The vast majority of asteroids can be found orbiting the Sun between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter. Asteroids tend to be irregularly shaped but Ceres is a notable exception in that it is spherical like a planet and has been upgraded to Dwarf Planet status.
Asteroids are also known as Minor Planets, but that term has largely fallen out of favour since 2006, with a preference for using Dwarf Planets and Small Solar System Bodies. Minor Planet refers to anything, not a comet or a planet.

Normally, names and numbers are allocated to the asteroid by the Minor Planet Center (M.P.C.), part of the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory (SAO). Some asteroid names such as Ceres were named prior to the SAO taking responsibility allocating names and numbers. Some asteroids are dedicated by the discoverers to people or named after mythology, such as 2602 PatrickMoore (dedicated) and 15810 Arawn.

Those not named will be assigned the year it was discovered and letters. Usually, an asteroid it will just be referred to as just Pushkin, that is without the number. Number Id of an asteroid is usually indicative of when it was discovered, for example, 1 Ceres is the first asteroid to be discovered so hence it has the number 1.
Pushkin absolute magnitude is 10.83, which is the object's brightness. A higher absolute magnitude means that the object is faint, whereas a very low number means it is very bright. The mean anomaly of Pushkin is 223.22228, the object's angular distance from the perihelion or aphelion. Ref: Dictionary.
The Longitude of Ascending Node of Pushkin is 78.53571 degrees. It is the angle between the Reference Direction and the Ascending Node. It is generally represented by the greek letter ;. The ascending node is the point at which the object passes north. The descending node is the southern equivalent.
The Argument of Perihelion of Pushkin is 2.8551. It is the angle along the orbit of a planet or other Solar System object as measured from the ascending node (analogous to right ascension and longitude) Ref:Hawaii.
The Mean Orbit Velocity (M.O.V.) is the speed at which it orbits is 1.00 km/h. The average distance of the object from its parent is 1.00km.

The orbital inclination of Pushkin, the angle at which Pushkin orbits to the orbital plane, is 5.40265 degrees. The orbital eccentricity is 0.0307050 of Pushkin, the degree at which Pushkin orbits close to a circular (0) orbit as opposed to an elliptical (1). The semi-major axis of Pushkin orbit is 3.4945065 (A.U.), the furthest point from the centre to the edge of an elliptical. Pushkin has not been classed as a Near Earth Object (NEO) asteroid as its path doesn't come close (proximity) or cross the orbital path of the Earth as it travels around the Sun.

Overview
Pushkin is a large asteroid that orbits between Mars and Jupiter in the outer reaches of the main asteroid belt. NASA JPL has not classified Pushkin as potentially hazardous because its orbit does not bring it close to Earth.
Pushkin orbits the sun every 2,390 days (6.54 years), coming as close as 3.39 AU and reaching as far as 3.61 AU from the sun. Pushkin is about 40.9 kilometers in diameter, making it larger than 99% of asteroids, comparable in size to the U.S. state of Rhode Island.
The rotation of Pushkin has been observed. It completes a rotation on its axis every 8.41 hours.
Pushkin's spectral type D (Tholen) / None (SMASSII) indicates that it is likely to contain .
No Close Approaches
Pushkin's orbit is 2.41 AU from Earth's orbit at its closest point. This means that there is an extremely wide berth between this asteroid and Earth at all times.
Orbital simulations conducted by NASA JPL's CNEOS do not show any close approaches to Earth.
Images and Observations
Pushkin's orbit is determined by observations dating back to April 22, 1968. It was last officially observed on July 4, 2023. The IAU Minor Planet Center records 3,683 observations used to determine its orbit.
Accessibility and Exploration
This asteroid is not considered a viable target for human exploration by the NHATS study.
