In our country, there are three categories of citizens: achievers (those striving to accomplish something in life), plodders (hardworking individuals), and down-shifters (those content with the minimum).
In the recent past, Democrats leaned toward the third category, while Republicans leaned toward the first.
In 2008, Obama, by rescuing Wall Street, aligned his party more closely with the first category, while in 2016, Trump had to redirect his party towards the second.
As for the third category, both parties today only flirt with them, without taking their interests too seriously.
