Mikhail Bulgakov. Prophet, satirist, mystic
Bulgakov was not only a writer, but also a doctor, which left its imprint on his work. In his works there are often medical motifs, and the heroes often face the problems of life and death, disease and healing.
But the main theme that runs through all of Bulgakov's work is the search for the meaning of life. In his novels, he explores human passions, vices and virtues, confronting the heroes with unpredictable circumstances and forcing them to make difficult choices.
‘The Master and Margarita’ is perhaps Bulgakov's most famous work. This is a novel about love, creativity, good and evil, about the eternal questions of existence. The reader is immersed in a world where reality is intertwined with fantasy, where mystical characters and ordinary people meet.
But Bulgakov was not limited only to ‘The Master and Margarita’. His pen belongs to other wonderful works: ‘Dog's Heart’, ‘Theatre’, ‘Notes of a Young Doctor’, ‘The White Guard’. Each of these books is a separate universe full of life, humour, tragedy and philosophical reflections.
Bulgakov was a master of words, he mastered the language with virtuosity, was able to create vivid images and memorable dialogues. His works are distinguished by subtle humour, sharp satire and deep lyricism.
In his books Bulgakov does not give ready-made answers, he puts complex questions before the reader, forcing him to search for answers on his own. His work not only entertains, but also makes you think about life, about human nature, about eternal values.
Even today, decades after the author's death, his works remain relevant, continue to excite and inspire, making us return again and again to his amazing world.
