2. 2.EXT. THE BUILDING OF A CONSTRUCTION COMPANY - DAY

There is a massive multistory building on the central street of Cleveland.Passers-by rush past the building, street noise is heard. There are many different offices in the building; the office of a construction company is among them.

3.INT. THE OFFICE OF A CONSTRUCTION COMPANY - DAY

In the office, there are several desks in one of the rooms, and employees of the company are sitting at them. Some are talking on the phone, others are using a computer.

A man (40 years old), BRIAN HARRIS, is sitting at one of the desks. He looks a bit nervous while working on the computer and from time to time he is glancingat the papers lying on the desk.

A respectable man, the head of the company (60 years old), Mr. CLARK, approaches Brian's desk.He is slightly annoyed, looking at Brian’s working.

MR. CLARK (DISPLEASED)
Brian, the documents should have been ready yesterday, the contractors are in a hurry, I'm very unhappy with your work.

BRIAN (EXCUSING HIMSELF)
But Mr. Clark, I'm doing my best! There are so many amendments here.

MR. CLARK (INTERRUPTS)
Brian, the order we have is really profitable! And we're just sitting and losing our money! Well, this month you are going to work without a bonus.

BRIAN (PLEADINGLY)
But Mr. Clark, we need this money, the kids are growing up, I have to spend more.

MR. CLARK (HARSHLY)
Brian!I've said it all, if you can't cope, you work without a bonus.

Mr. Clark turns and walks away from Brian's desk.

BRIAN (ANGRILY, IN A WHISPER)
Fuck off! You’ve filled me up with work...And you're depriving me of money now.

Brian looks sullenly after Mr. Clark leaves.

3. 4.INT.BRIAN'S APARTMENT-EVENING (SAME DAY).

Brian enters the room, irritably throws his jacket into an armchair.

BRIAN (LOUDLY)
Honey, I'm home.

An attractive woman enters the room, Brian's wife, NANCY HARRIS (35 years old).

NANCY (PICKS UP BRIAN'S JACKET)
All right, wash yourhands, we're going to have dinner now.

BRIAN (SIGHING)
I’m not hungry (continues angrily).Clark is furious and hurrying me.Today he’s been really irritating. He said that this month I’m going to work without a bonus.

NANCY (UPSET)
But We need this money so much.

BRIAN (ANGRILY)
And what can I do... He's the boss! I'm sick of it! I’ve got to drink.

NANCY
Calm down dear.Switch your mind to something else. Watch TV, lie down, read something.

BRIAN
Okay, I'll think about it later, but right now I just want to rest.

Nancy sighs and leaves the room.Brian goes to the bookcase, looks at the books there, reads the titles. He notices the book "Psychology for everybody”, picks it up, opens it.

BRIAN (READING)
…Let people hope for what they dream of.

Brian thinks about it, then opens the first page, sits down in an armchair, begins to read.

4. 5.INT.BRIAN'S APARTMENT-EVENING(SAME DAY).

Brian is sitting in an armchair, thoughtfully reading a book.He has already read fifty pages, and Nancy comes up to him.

NANCY
It's getting late, have dinner and go to bed, you’re having a hard day tomorrow.

BRIAN (WITHOUT LOOKING UP FROM THE BOOK)
Ok, Ok.Go, I'll be right there.

Nancy moves away from Brian, he is sitting enthusiastically reading a book.

5. 6.INT.BRIAN'S APARTMENT-NIGHT(SAME DAY)

Brian is walking through the semi-dark apartment, reading a book on the go.He goes to the kitchen, opens the frige, takes food from the shelf, starts chewing without looking up from the book. The book is more than half read.

6. 7.INT.BRIAN'S APARTMENT-MORNING.

Brian is sitting in the kitchen, yawning, with breakfast on the table in front of him. Nancy puts a cup of coffee in front of Brian.

NANCY (DISPLEASED)
You've been reading half the night, and you have a lot of work to do.Mr. Clark will be unhappy again.

BRIAN
It's okay, I’ll manage it.Don't worry dear, everything will be fine.

NANCY (SIGHING)
I hope.

8.INT.OFFICE OF A CONSTRUCTION COMPANY-DAY.

Brian is sitting at his desk, yawning, staring blankly at papers, then at the computer.Mr. Clark approaches him.He looks at Brian yawning and frowns.

MR. CLARK (DEMANDING)
Brian, the paperwork must be ready this afternoon!

BRIAN
But Mr. Clark, that's impossible, there's still so much work to do.

MR. CLARK (FIRMLY)
Brian, you've been doing this work for two weeks now.If the work isn't finished this afternoon, you’ll be fired.

BRIAN
But Mr. Clark! I can’t make it today.

MR. CLARK
Brian, it's easier for me to hire a couple of people than to lose this order. You can’t manage it. Look for another job for yourself.

BRIAN
But Mr. Clark, I have a family, children.

MR. CLARK
Brian, what can I do, They hurry me. That’s life, if you can’t do the job, there always be others who can.I'll check it out after lunch.

Mr. Clark walks away from Brian's desk.Brian sits dumbfounded, holding his head with both hands.

7. 9.INT.BRIAN'S APARTMENT-EVENING (SAME DAY).

A drunken Brian staggers into the hallway, takes off his shoes.Nancy enters at the sound of falling shoes, sees Brian drunk.

NANCY (ALARMED)
Darling, where have you been? What happened?

BRIAN (DRUNKENLY)
That brute fired me!Me!!!
I've been working like a damn for two weeks... and here is the result.

NANCY
How did you get fired? Why?

BRIAN
He says I can’t manage it. And He has a deal..

NANCY (FRIGHTENED)
And what are we going to live on?And also loans...

BRIAN
I'll settle it.I will definitely get a job somewhere.

Brian drunkenly sways into the room.Nancy is standing in the hallway, looking at Brian with pity.

8. 10.INT.BRIAN'S APARTMENT -MORNING.

A sad-looking Brian enters the room, looking hungover. He holds a glass of water in one hand and an aspirin tablet in the other.Brian swallows a pill, washes it down with water, grimaces, sits down in an armchair, puts an empty glass on the table, touching the psychology book lying there. The book falls to the floor, opens.Brian reaches for the book to pick it up and reads the open page-(..let people hope for what they dream of).

Brian picks up the book and reads the phrase again. Then he puts the book on the table, leans back in his chair and thinks deeply.

9. 11.EXT.BRIAN'S FUTURE OFFICE - DAY.

There is a building with offices on the outskirts of the city. There is a small office there, and there is a "For rent" sign on its door.Brian is standing in front of the office on the street, he looks at the building, then resolutely enters the office.

12.INT.BRIAN'S FUTURE OFFICE - DAY.

In a small office there is a desk, an office chair, a chair, a closet.Brian is standing at the office window, looking out at the street. The CLERK of the office (40 years old), who rents the office, stands at the table.

THE CLERK
For what purposes do you rent an office?

BRIAN (LOOKING UP FROM THE WINDOW)
For providing psychological services to the public.

THE CLERK
Well, let's sign the contract and the room is yours (takes out the contract sheets from the folder).

BRIAN
Here's the deposit, the rest at the end of the month.

Brian takes the money out of his wallet, puts it on the desk, and the clerk counts the money.Brian quickly runs through the contract, puts his signature. The clerk takes one copy of the contract, puts it in a folder, takes out the office key, puts it on the table.

THE CLERK
Have a nice day, Mr. Harris.Have a good business.

The clerk leaves the office, Brian sits down in a chair at the table, looks around the office, thinks.

13.INT. JUNK SHOP-DAY.

There are a lot of old strange things in the shop. There is an old gray-haired old man (75 years old) behind the counter.Brian is standing in front of the counter, holding a battered pack of Tarot cards, a small old framed mirror, looking at a glass ball on a stand behind the junk dealer.

BRIAN
Is it crystal?

JUNKMAN
No, mister, to be honest, it's just glass. If the ball was made of crystal, it wouldn't be so cheap.

BRIAN
I think I'll take it.Don't you have something more extravagant, more mystical or something?

JUNKMAN(LOOKING AROUND THE SHOP)
But I can offer this.

The junk dealer takes out an old wolf skull from under the counter, puts it on the counter in front of Brian.

BRIAN (STARTS BACK)
What is it?!

JUNKMAN
This is a wolf's skull (continues cunningly) an interesting thing, who understands, I will sell it inexpensively.

BRIAN (THINKS A LITTLE)
I take...And those candles over there (he points with his hand)about a dozen.

JUNKMAN(PLEASED)
Great, believe me, these things will give you a lot of impressions, and they’re worth it.

The junk dealer packs the things Brian bought into a bag. Brian pays, takes the bags, and leaves the store.

JUNKMAN
You’re welcome, mister, always at your service.

14.INT.BRIAN'S OFFICE - DAY.

Brian walks around the office, arranges the items he bought from the junk dealer. He puts a wolf's skull on a stand in the corner, puts a glass ball and an old mirror on the table, puts a pack of Tarot cards, places candles in candlesticks.

Then Brian goes to the closet, takes out a box of makeup. He takes a wig, puts it on his head, takes out a false mustache and beard, sticks them on his face.He takes out a long black cape with a hood from the closet, puts it on his shoulders.Brian looks in the mirror, an old man's face looks attentively at Brian from the mirror.

BRIAN (ALOUD, LOOKING AT HIMSELF IN THE MIRROR)
The entourage is ready,  the customers are welcome.

15.INT. BRIAN'S APARTMENT-EVENING.

Brian is sitting in a room in front of a computer, typing an ad on social media.Brian types the text "I will help you solve your problems using  magic.Make an appointment via the Internet.” Brian presses the key and leans back in his chair.

BRIAN (ALOUD, THOUGHTFULLY)
That's all, there is no way back.

Brian picks up a psychology book from the desk and opens it.
16.INT.BRIAN'S OFFICE - DAY.

In the office, Brian is sitting at a desk wearinghis makeup, with a fake mustache and beard on his face, a wig on his head, and a black raincoat on.The curtains are drawn in the office, it is dim, candles are burning in the corners, the reflections of burning candles play on the walls, a wolf's skull is grinning on a stand.

A young woman (30 years old), a BRUNETTE ,is sitting in front of the desk, nervously looking back at the office door, she is clearly uncomfortable.

THEBRUNETTE  (CONTINUES)
..We got married last year and his mother, Mrs. Rachel, is often with us in the evenings. She is a single woman, she is bored and she constantly monitors me, what I cooked for dinner, how I cleaned the house. And it annoys me.I've become nervous, I'm arguing with my husband...and she keeps coming every evening.

Brian gets up, walks over to the wolf's skull, puts his hand on the skull, thoughtfully strokes it, illuminates it.He sits down in an armchair, looks impressively into the eyes of the client, takes a safety pin from the table.

BRIAN (SIGNIFICANTLY)
You need to wind your mother-in-law's hair around this magic needle, Mrs. Rachel, then stick it at your doorstep and say the words "You don't need to go", you'll see your mother-in-law will visit you less often.

The brunette client cautiously picks up a pin, puts it in her purse.

BRIAN (CONTINUES)
..and also, persuade your husband to give your mother a kitten, it, as a mystical being, will also restrain her impulses to come to you.

THE BRUNETTE
But she never kept animals in the house.

BRIAN
Let it be a gift from a loving son.Do as I said and you will get the result.

THE BRUNETTE
Okay, I'll give it a try.And what are the guarantees?

BRIAN (INSISTS)
Just do this and you will see changes in your life.Act more confidently.

The brunette  takes money out of her purse and puts it on the table.

THE BRUNETTE
Thank you for your help.Goodbye.

The brunette leaves the office.Brian picks up the money and puts it in his pocket.

BRIAN (PLEASED)
And things are getting better.

17.INT.BRIAN'S OFFICE -EVENING.

In the office, Brian is standing by the window in makeup, looking out at the street. There are black clouds outside the window, the sky is dark, it's about to start raining.Brian moves away from the window, sits down in a chair by the table.

BRIAN (ALOUD)
It's going to rain.

V.O. Suddenly there is a knock on the office door.

Brian makes a serious, meaningful look, frowns.

BRIAN (LOUDLY)
Come in.

The office door opens, and a young PALE MAN (35 years old) stands outside the door.He looks around the office with interest and hesitantly enters.

PALE MAN (COMING IN)
Hello. It's you who are helping to solve, uh, some problems.

BRIAN
Come in, have a seat. What brings you to me?

THE PALE MAN (SITTING DOWN AT THE TABLE)
I don't know where to start...all this is unpleasant, but it got to such an extent..
(hysterically)
That I'm ready for anything!

BRIAN
Calm down and tell me how it all started.

THE PALE MAN (SIGHING)
It's all about my neighbor. We didn't communicate closely, we greeted each other only, and a couple of months ago I accidentally scratched his car.Apparently he took it as an insult.I apologized, paid for the repair of the car...but he's been harassing me ever since.

The pale man falls silent, clasps his head in his hands in resignation.

BRIAN
Come on, calm down. Tell me how it ended.

THE PALE MAN (CONTINUES)
At first there were just barbs and malicious jokes directed at me, and then the insults got worse and worse. In two months, he drove me so far that I'm ready to strangle him with my own hands.

The pale man is sitting, angrily and nervously clenching and unclenching his fists.

V.O. THUNDER is heard outside the window, LIGHTNING flashes, the first drops of rain fall.

The pale man shudders, shrugs his shoulders.

THE PALE MAN
I hate him!I wish he was dead!

BRIAN (CAUTIOUSLY)
And who is he, your neighbor, what kind of lifestyle he leads.
THE PALE MAN
Just a neighbor, an engineer at the enterprise. He’s got family, children, work.We didn't talk much... But it can't go on like this anymore!

BRIAN (THINKING A LITTLE)
Okay, okay, I'll help you.

Brian takes out a small vial of clear liquid from the table and puts it on the desk.

BRIAN (MYSTERIOUSLY)
You should make  your neighbor drink these enchanted drops and then his attitude towards you will change.

PALE MAN (LOOKING AT THE BOTTLE)
And how will I do it?

BRIAN (CONVINCINGLY)
In the evening, invite him to the bar, apologize again for the car, sit down, have a good drink and add some drops to his glass. Then talk to him, chat, find a common topic.

THE PALE MAN (DOUBTFULLY)
Will it help?

BRIAN
Don't doubt it.Make sure to do so.

The pale man stands up, picks up the drops, examines them, then resolutely puts them in his pocket.

BRIAN
You will be charged three hundred dollars for the drops, and you will thank me for the final result later. Just don't put it off.

PALE MAN (TAKES OUT AND PUTS MONEY ON THE TABLE)
I'll try.

BRIAN
And be more confident, don't be afraid of anything, smile at him more.

PALE MAN
All right, I must go.

A pale man leaves the office.Brian gets up, goes to the window, looks out at the dripping rain.

BRIAN (ALOUD)
Three hundred bucks for usual water... and that's just the beginning.

10. 18.INT. BRIAN'S APARTMENT-EVENING (SAME DAY).

Brian enters the hallway and takes off his shoes. His wife Nancy comes out to the noise.

NANCY
How are you, dear, have you found a job?

BRIAN (UNDRESSING)
Not yet, just one-time orders.

NANCY (SIGHING)
And where have you been all day?

BRIAN
Everything will be fine soon, give me a little more time. And for now, take it for household expenses (takes money out of his pocket, hands it to Nancy).

NANCY (TAKES THE MONEY)
I really hope that you will find something worthy.

BRIAN (CARELESSLY KISSES NANCY)
Soon, everything will be soon, be patient.

Brian goes into the room.

NANCY
I really hope.

19.INT.BRIAN'S OFFICE - DAY.

The office has a mystical entourage, semi-darkness. An UNTIDY WOMAN (40 years old) sits in front of the desk, casually dressed, with her hair tousled on her head.Brian is sitting at the desk in disguise, wearing a raincoat, with a hood on his head.

BRIAN (TO THE WOMAN)
How can I help you?

AN UNTIDY WOMAN
I suspect my husband of having a mistress. He became cool to me, often goes somewhere.

Brian carefully examines the woman, notices her untidy appearance, carelessness in her clothes.

BRIAN (THINKING)
Of course, such a scarecrow. So the guy found someone else.

BRIAN (ALOUD)
Let's see what the cards show. Take the pack (pushes the Tarot cards to the woman), throw it on the desk.

The woman takes a pack of cards, throws it on the desk.Brian quickly notices a card with a female image, pulls this card out of the scattered pack, shows it to the woman.

BRIAN (IMPRESSIVELY)
You see, this card fell out first! This suggests that your husband definitely has a mistress. So, let's see more.

Brian puts a card with a female image into the pack, begins to shuffle the pack deftly and imperceptibly slipping a card with a male image to the "female" card, the male and female cards lie side by side.

BRIAN (SIGNIFICANTLY)
Well, let's see what happened.

Brian lays out cards in front of the woman on the desk, she carefully monitors it.A female and a male card appear in front of her, they lie side by side. The woman seethes with anger when she sees the cards.

AN UNTIDY WOMAN (CONFIDENTLY)
And I knew, I knew! What a bastard!

BRIAN
Well, to know for sure, that's not all. What are you going to do with this information?

AN UNTIDY WOMAN (ANGRILY)
I'm going to scratch his whole fucking face today!

BRIAN
Do you want to save your family?

AN UNTIDY WOMAN
I want to, we have children. But he won't get away that easy!

BRIAN
Then let's have a ritual to save the family and he will leave his mistress soon.

AN UNTIDY WOMAN (CAUTIOUSLY)
Isn't it dangerous?

BRIAN
Not for you.Come tomorrow, bring your hair and his, your shared photo, and after the ritual I will teach you what to do further.

BRIAN (THINKING, LOOKING ATTENTIVELY AT THE WOMAN)
A new hairstyle, beautiful makeup, stylish clothes and let her be more affectionate with her husband.
He'll come back, he'll come back, he won’t leave her.

BRIAN (TO THE WOMAN)
It will cost you a thousand dollars, all for the sake of saving your family. You go now, I need to get ready for the ritual.

The woman stands up, looking back at Brian in fright, and leaves the office.Brian leans back in his chair thoughtfully.

20.INT.BRIAN'S OFFICE - EVENING.
Brian is sitting at the table in disguise, sluggishly sorting  Tarot cards, thinking.

V.O. There is a knock on the office door.

Brian quickly swipes the cards aside.

BRIAN
Come in.

A PALE MAN enters the office, he has a satisfied face, he smiles at Brian.

THE PALE MAN (HAPPILY)
Hello. You’ve just saved me. After all, I was ready for anything, and your drops made a miracle.

Brian looks important.

BRIAN
You're not the first one to say that.

THE PALE MAN (CONTINUES)
I did everything as you said. I went to my neighbor, apologized again, and invited him to the bar as an apology. At first, the conversation didn't go well, but then we drank, then again and again. I discreetly added drops to his drink, ordered another drink. In general, we had a wonderful evening. It turns out we have a lot in common, we returned home late as best friends.

BRIAN (NODDING HIS HEAD SOLEMNLY)
You see, I told you the drops would work.

THE PALE MAN
Thank you again, and this is as a thank you (takes out a large envelope with money, puts it on the table)

THE PALE MAN (CONTINUES)
After all, I breathed freely and began to enjoy life again.I also made a new friend.Thank you.Goodbye.
A pale man leaves the office.Brian picks up the envelope, looks into it, and whistles in surprise.

BRIAN (PLEASED )
And I did nothing.

21.INT. MRS. RACHEL'S APARTMENT- EVENING.

The BRUNETTE CLIENT'S mother-in-law, MRS. RACHEL (60 years old) He's sitting on the couch watching TV.She holds a young cat in her arms, fondly stroking it.There is a phone on the table, a bell rings, her son, the husband of a brunette client, is calling.Mrs. Rachel picks up the phone.

MRS. RACHEL (ON THE PHONE)
Yes, dear. No, I'm not coming today, Patrick threw up something (stroking the cat) I'll stay to look after him. For a while.(puts down the phone, looks at the cat)

MRS. RACHEL (TO THE CAT)
Don't be afraid, little one, I won't leave you alone.

22.INT. APARTMENT OF THE BRUNETTE - EVENING (at the same time).

The HUSBAND of a brunette client (30 years old) He stands in the room, puts the phone on the table. The BRUNETTE  is standing next to her, listening to the conversation.

THE BRUNETTE'S HUSBAND
Mom said she would stay at home, something happened with the cat. We'll spend the evening together, without her.

THE BRUNETTE (ROLLS HER EYES UP, WHISPERS)
Thank God, everything worked out.

The brunette turns to her husband, says happily.

THE CLIENT IS A BRUNETTE
She now has someone to take care of (hugs and kisses her husband), finally it's just the two of us.

23.A WEEK HAS PASSED.

24.INT.BRIAN'S OFFICE - DAY.

Brian, in makeup and a raincoat, is sitting at a desk in the office, he has opened a desk drawer.
There is a large amount of money in the drawer. Brian is happily sorting through the money.

V.O. There is a knock on the office door.

Brian quickly slams the drawer, puts on a mysterious look.

BRIAN (LOUDLY)
Come in.

The office door opens, a striking BLONDE (30 years old) enters. She was at Brian's appointment a few days ago. The blonde comes to the table, sits down.

BLONDE
Hello.

Brian nods his head solemnly at her.

THE BLONDE (ENTHUSIASTICALLY)
Thank you again, everything worked out.

The blonde takes a plump envelope with money out of her purse and puts it on the table.

BLONDE
And this is as we agreed.(he looks back at the door, lowers his voice). That bag with my hair, I put it in my husband's pillow and the powder that you gave me, I put it in his dinner every night. So we have such nights now (rolls his eyes).

Brian sits in silence, nodding his head importantly, looking at the blonde. He is thoughtful, he hears her chirping.

BRIAN (THINKING)
And how many more such fools are there in the world. After all, it was worth advising to be more gentle with her husband... and pills for potency in the form of powder, given to him at dinner, so this is generally a godsend.

THE BLONDE (ANXIOUSLY)
And how long will the effect of the ritual last? And what if it happens again..

             BRIAN
Everything depends on you now. You’ve got your husband. Don’t let him go away.

Brian thinks for a second, then opens a drawer, takes out a small bottle of liquid, puts it on the table.
BRIAN (INSPIRES)
And to consolidate the effect, spray his pillow with this potion today.

The blonde quickly takes the bottle in her hands, makes frightened eyes.

THE BLONDE
And what is it?

BRIAN (MYSTERIOUSLY)
These are drops, "Virgin Charms", a terrible power. And don't forget to add the powder.

BRIAN (THINKING, LOOKING AT THE BLONDE)
Water with pheramones and pills for potency will do their job. Well, don't let me down, lady.

The blonde quickly hides the vial in her purse.

THE BLONDE
How much more do I owe?

BRIAN (CONDESCENDINGLY)
As a regular customer, you already have a discount of five hundred.

The blonde takes money out of her purse and puts it on the table.

THE BLONDE
Now if I have any problems, I’ll be just here for you.Goodbye.

The blonde stands up and leaves the office.

BRIAN (LOOKING AFTER THE DEPARTING BLONDE, THINKING)
A fool with money.

Brian takes the envelope and the money from the table, carelessly throws them into the drawer with the rest of the money.

11. 25.INT. BRIAN'S APARTMENT-EVENING (SAME DAY).

Brian is taking off his clothes in the hallway, and his wife Nancy is standing next to him.

NANCY
You started staying late, coming home later.

BRIAN
That's my job now.

NANCY (RESENTFULLY)
And what kind of work? You don't tell me anything, when
you worked for Mr. Clark, I knew many of your colleagues.

BRIAN (VAGUELY)
That's the kind of job, it's better not to spread about it.

NANCY (ALARMED)
Hopefully nothing criminal.

BRIAN
Calm down, everything is legal. And also, take this.

Brian takes a large wad of money out of his pocket and hands it to Nancy. Nancy automatically takes the money, looks at it in amazement.

BRIAN (COMING INTO THE ROOM)
What's for dinner?I'm hungry.

Nancy stands silently, looking suspiciously at Brian’s side.

26.INT.BRIAN'S OFFICE - DAY.

Brian, in disguise, is sitting in an armchair at the desk. He's looking through a psychology book.

V.O. There is a knock on the door.

Brian quickly throws the book into a drawer, throws the hood over his head, and assumes a serious look.

BRIAN
Come in.

Brian's former boss, Mr. Clark, walks into the office. He looks tired and exhausted. He looks around the office carefully, goes to the desk and sits down.Brian shrinks a little, he is surprised by the arrival of Mr. Clark, his eyes darted, he tries to quickly figure out what the visitor needs.

MR. CLARK (LOOKS AROUND THE OFFICE)
Good afternoon.

Brian moves back a little with the chair into the shade, changes his voice.

BRIAN (IN A HOLLOW VOICE)
What happened to you?I see you have serious problems.

MR. CLARK (SHUDDERING)
Not to say that it's a big problem.. But, in general, my construction company needs to get a profitable order, very profitable for the company. And the customer company is not in a hurry with this.Yes, we had some minor flaws, but the rest of the agreements were respected...

BRIAN (REMEMBERING HIS WORK)
Well, everyone has some kind of malfunction, it's typical.

MR. CLARK (SIGHING)
Yes, but I'm worried that the customer will start looking for another contractor and then we will lose the project, which is very profitable for us in terms of money.

Brian sees that Mr. Clark is immersed in his problems, he relaxes and calms down.

BRIAN (CALMLY)
What do you want from me?Let’s specify the task.

MR. CLARK (MAKING UP HIS MIND)
Is it possible to make sure that the project is transferred only to my construction company and no one else?

BRIAN (THINKING A LITTLE)
Come back tomorrow.I will prepare the ritual, but I warn you, it will cost you a lot.

MR. CLARK
How much?

Brian takes paper and a pen, writes numbers on paper and pushes the paper to Mr. Clark.

Mr. Clark raises his eyebrows at the paper in surprise. He is hesitating about the need for a ritual, he is annoyed at paying a large sum, but the fear of losing the order overpowers him and he agrees.

MR. CLARK (RESIGNEDLY)
Okay, I agree.

BRIAN
Come back tomorrow with the money.

Mr. Clark gets up without saying goodbye and walks towards the exit with his shoulders slumped. He doubts his actions and that he would waste the money.Brian points two fingers in the form of a pistol at Mr. Clark's back and pretends to shoot, then leans back in his chair with satisfaction.

27.INT.BRIAN'S OFFICE-DAY (SAME DAY).

A made-up Brian is standing at the window, looking out at the street and talking on the phone. He's talking to his former colleague, friend Richard, from Mr. Clark's construction company.

BRIAN (ON THE PHONE)
Hi Richard, this is Brian. How are you, how's the job?

28.INT.OFFICE OF A CONSTRUCTION COMPANY-DAY.(AT THE SAME TIME)

Brian's friend, RICHARD (36 years old) He's sitting at his desk in the office, talking on the phone with Brian.

RICHARD (HAPPILY, ON THE PHONE)
Brian, I'm glad to hear you. What are you doing?

29.INT.BRIAN'S OFFICE-DAY(SAME TIME)

Brian is standing talking to his former colleague Richard, from Mr. Clark's construction company.

BRIAN (EVASIVELY)
Yes, I do mostly one-time orders. And how are you doing at the company?

30.INT.OFFICE OF THE CONSTRUCTION COMPANY- DAY(AT THE SAME TIME)

Richard is on the phone with Brian.

RICHARD
Brian, go to Mr. Clark, maybe he'll take you back.

Richard looks around and lowers his voice, covering the phone with his hand.

RICHARD (ON THE PHONE)
I recently called my friend from the customer's company, so he said that his boss was looking for other contractors, but he couldn't find a better one than our company. So the big project will be ours, there will be a lot of work. I'm telling you. That’s for sure.

31.INT.BRIAN'S OFFICE-DAY(SAME TIME)

Brian is on the phone with Richard.

BRIAN (ON THE PHONE)
Thanks Richard, but I'll do it myself somehow. Bye, it was good to talk to you.

Brian happily turns off the phone.

BRIAN (HAPPILY)
Yes!Yes! (he remembers Mr. Clark and whispers angrily)
You're going to pay me for everything, every single cent!

12. 32.EXT.THE OFFICE OF A CONSTRUCTION COMPANY -DAY.

13. 33.EXT.STREET-DAY (AT THE SAME TIME).

On the street where the office of the construction company is located, Brian is standing around the corner of the house. He's the one who put up the poster of a rival company and is hiding and watching Mr. Clark.Seeing Mr. Clark's anger and annoyance, Brian says with satisfaction.

BRIAN (ALOUD)
It's okay, I'll get you.

Brian turns around and hurries back to his office.

34.EXT.STREET-DAY (SAME DAY).

Brian is walking down the street, he sees a pay phone booth, quickly approaches it.Brian knows Mr. Clark's direct number, he dials it, changes his voice while talking.

BRIAN (QUICKLY)
A construction company?Good afternoon, this is the manager of the customer company, I'm here about the project...

35.INT.THE OFFICE OF THE CONSTRUCTION COMPANY - DAY (AT THE SAME TIME).

Mr. Clark is sitting in his office. He is annoyed by the incident with the competitors' poster. His phone rings on his desk, and Mr. Clark picks it up.

MR. CLARK (IRRITABLY)
Hello, I'm listening!

Mr. Clark hears Brian's voice on the phone, but does not recognize him. When he hears that the customer company is calling, he changes his intonation.

MR. CLARK (POLITELY)
Yes, about the project, I'm listening to you carefully.

V.O. Brian's voice is heard on the phone.

BRIAN
Hello, hello..It's hard to hear.Is this Stroyservice?

MR. CLARK (IN A SINKING VOICE)
This is Clark's construction company...

V.O. Brian's voice on the phone.

BRIAN (QUICKLY)
Sorry, I got the wrong number.

Mr. Clark hears the phone ringing. He sits, thinking, then gets up quickly, deciding to visit Brian.

MR. CLARK (WHISPERS ANGRILY)
Damn competitors!I'll show you how to beat off other people's projects!

Mr. Clark goes to the safe in the wall, opens it, takes out and puts a large amount of money in an envelope. He hides the envelope in a briefcase, pushes the briefcase under the table.
Mr.Clark sits down exhausted in an armchair and holds his heart.

36.INT.BRIAN'S OFFICE -DAY.

Brian, in disguise, is sitting in the office, waiting for Mr. Clark to arrive.Brian has prepared everything for the "ritual".The office has curtained windows, a mysterious atmosphere has been created, candles are burning in the corners.

V.O. There is a knock on the door.

BRIAN (LOUDLY)
Come in.

Mr. Clark enters the office, holding a briefcase.

MR. CLARK
Good afternoon.How about my case?

BRIAN
I've prepared the ritual.Did you bring the money?

MR. CLARK (SLAPS HIS HAND ON THE BRIEFCASE)
Yes, I brought it.

BRIAN (SATISFIED)
Then let's get started.Sit down.

Mr. Clark sits down on a chair by the desk.

Brian takes out two thin candles from the drawer, one white, the other black, and a large metal dish. He sets candles on the desk, lights them, and places a metal dish between them. Then he takes out two small cardboard houses glued together  and puts them on a dish. One of his houses is soaked in a combustible mixture, the other is fire-fighting.

BRIAN (IMPRESSIVELY)
This (pointing to the house with a combustible mixture) is a competitor company. And this (pokes at another house)your company.

Mr. Clark is sitting, looking a little surprised at the entourage on the table.

BRIAN (CONTINUES)
Take a black candle and set fire to a rival company.

Mr. Clark remembers about the competitors' poster, takes a candle and angrily pokes it at the house.
The house bursts into flames, hisses, shoots "sparklers" and burns to the ground.Mr. Clark, like a child, looks at this  with joy.

BRIAN
Now try to set your company on fire.

Mr. Clark cautiously holds a candle to another house. The house is not on fire.Mr. Clark confidently pokes the candle at the house several times.

BRIAN (IMPRESSIVELY)
And now say "Neither to competitors, nor to enemies!Everything is just for us!"

MR. CLARK (WHISPERS)
Neither to competitors nor to enemies!Everything is just for us!

Brian puts some old construction contracts from a rival company on a platter.

BRIAN
Burn these papers and say these words"Order, order go to us!"

Mr. Clark sets fire to the papers on the platter with a black candle, the papers smoulder and burn.

MR. CLARK (HOPEFULLY)
Order, order go to us!

Old papers are burning out on a metal platter.Brian stares through the smoke at Mr. Clark's tense face.

BRIAN
Now put both candles back and wait.

Mr. Clark sets candles on the table.Behind the candles in the table there are small holes made by Brian in advance and poorly visible in the semi-darkness of the room. Brian presses the  pump with his foot, the pump supplies air through the holes and the candles suddenly go out.Mr. Clark looks at the extinguished candles with a little surprise.

BRIAN (SOLEMNLY)
The higher powers are on your side, they will help you.

Brian takes both candles and twists them together, then puts them on a platter. He takes out a small box from  the drawer, puts everything from the dish in a box, passes it to Mr. Clark.
BRIAN (SIGNIFICANTLY)
And now this (handing over the box) needs to be buried in a secret place. You will receive a favorable offer in the near future, do not refuse it. That’s all. Go.

MR. CLARK (DOUBTFULLY)
And what if anything doesn't work out?

BRIAN
Then I'll just give you the money back, but make no mistake, the ritual will work.

Mr. Clark stands up, picks up a briefcase, takes out a bulky envelope with money from it, puts it on the table, then picks up a box.

BRIAN
And think only about the order. Goodbye.

Mr. Clark thoughtfully leaves the office.Brian takes the envelope with the money, looks into it, nods his head in satisfaction.

BRIAN (PLEASED)
That's it, you old goat, you don't know who you're dealing with!

Brian opens a drawer, there is already a large amount of money in the drawer, carelessly throws the envelope into the drawer with the rest of the money. He stands up, happily makes a few dance moves.

BRIAN (HAPPILY)
And this is just the beginning!

37.INT.STRIP CLUB- EVENING.

Soft music is playing in the club, the lights are slightly dimmed. The club's visitors are sitting at the tables.Strippers are dancing.

Brian is sitting at one of the tables, slightly drunk. An opened bottle of expensive whiskey and snacks are on the table. A young stripper is dancing in front of the table for Brian. She bends to the beat of the music.Brian shoves the bill into her panties and carelessly sends her away from the table. The stripper goes to another table, starts dancing in front of the next customer. Brian drinks his whiskey, looks around the room and gestures for another stripper.Another stripper hurries to him.
Brian takes the money out of his pocket and holds it in front of him.

BRIAN (DRUNKENLY TO THE STRIPPER)
Come on, baby, show me what you can do in this life.

The stripper starts dancing in front of Brian.Brian pours himself another whiskey and drinks it.Then he tries to touch the stripper, but the stripper shakes her finger, indicating that you can only watch.

BRIAN (DRUNKENLY, DISAPPOINTED)
There is deception all around. .I'm deceiving them..And here I am deceived.

Brian waves his hand, gets up with difficulty, throws money on the table to the stripper and staggers to the exit.

38.INT.BRIAN'S APARTMENT - NIGHT.

Brian is standing in the dark hallway, drunkenly staggering, trying to take off his shoes.Nancy comes out to the noise, she turns on the light in the hallway and sees a drunk Brian.

NANCY (ALARMED)
Darling, what's the matter with you? Why are you so late?

BRIAN (DRUNKENLY)
Everything…is …great.

Brian takes off his shoes, reaches into his pocket, takes out a lot of crumpled bills. He shoves money in Nancy’s hands.

BRIAN
Here..take.

Nancy takes the money and puts it in the hallway. Brian staggers away and swipes the money, the bills scatter in the hallway.Nancy picks up Brian and leads him into the room.

NANCY (SIGHING)
You're so late again.

BRIAN (DRUNKENLY)
That's enough for today, I want to sleep...

39.INT.BRIAN'S APARTMENT INT.- DAY.

Brian is sitting at the kitchen table having breakfast. He is unwell, he is suffering from a hangover, he greedily drinks water from a bottle.Nancy puts a plate of sandwiches in front of him, sits down at the table.

NANCY
Honey, we need to talk. You come home late, often drunk..you bring large amounts of money in cash.

BRIAN (FROWNS)
What's wrong with it?

NANCY
I'm worried about you, maybe you became a criminal.

BRIAN
Calm down, no crime. It's just that now I have a job where they pay in cash.

NANCY
I'd like to know more about your work.

BRIAN (STANDS UP)
That's it, I don't have time, I'm already late.

NANCY (INSISTS)
Brian! We didn't finish, you still haven't told me anything!

BRIAN
That's it, that's it, I'm leaving.

Brian comes out of the kitchen.Nancy is sitting upset, staring at one point.

40.INT. INT.BRIAN'S OFFICE - DAY.

In the office, Brian is sitting at a desk in makeup. He drinks water from a bottle, struggles with a hangover.

V.O. There is a knock on the door.

Brian quickly hides the bottle under the table.

BRIAN
Come in.

A WOMAN (50 years old) enters the office. She looks around the office with fright and goes to the desk.

FEMALE(50 YEARS OLD)
Good afternoon.I have an appointment for today...

BRIAN
Have a seat, what brought you to me.

The woman sits down heavily on a chair.

FEMALE(50 YEARS OLD)
You see, I have health problems...

BRIAN (QUICKLY)
I'm not doing any treatment! This is not my area of expertise.

FEMALE(50 YEARS OLD)
And yet, maybe you can help. The fact is that during the medical check-up they  found a cyst on my kidney. The doctor says it's a planned operation. But I'm so afraid of surgery!

BRIAN (CLARIFIES)
So there is no emergency and no serious condition?

FEMALE(50 YEARS OLD)
The doctor says that everything is typical. But I'm so afraid of surgery! What if something goes wrong?

BRIAN (THINKING QUICKLY)
Good.In your case, I can perform a ritual for the successful completion of the operation. We will ask the Higher Powers for everything to go well.

FEMALE(50 YEARS OLD)
Well, let it be so, at least I will be calm, knowing that some Higher powers are protecting me.

Brian quickly writes down the amount on paper and pushes it towards the woman.

BRIAN
It will cost you that much.

FEMALE(50 YEARS OLD)
Yes...It's a little expensive for me.(looks at the amount)

BRIAN (CYNICALLY)
Well, then contact another specialist. Believe me, I will spend a lot of my personal energy to perform such a ritual. And how will this affect my health later?

FEMALE(50 YEARS OLD)
Well, I agree.

BRIAN (IMPRESSIVELY)
Then, tonight at sunset, I will perform a ritual.I will charge the amulet to protect your health, tomorrow you will come, bring the money and get the amulet. Before the operation, hold the amulet in your left hand and do not be afraid of anything, everything will be fine.

WOMAN (50 YEARS OLD, STANDS UP)
Thank you, you've calmed me down.Goodbye.

Female (50 years old) leaves the office.Brian leans back in his chair with satisfaction, snaps his fingers.

BRIAN (THAT'S ENOUGH, OUT LOUD)
One (snaps his fingers) and the money is mine.

Brian takes out a bottle of water from under the table and drinks greedily.

41.EXT.CITY STREET-EVENING.

Brian is walking slowly down the street, in his usual clothes, he is walking towards the house.Brian is happy with his life, looks at passersby with a little superiority.Suddenly, in a crowd of people, he notices Richard, his friend from the former job.Brian quickly catches up with Richard.

BRIAN (STOPS RICHARD)
Richard, it's good to see you.

RICHARD (HAPPILY)
Brian!Hi, how are you?

BRIAN
Everything is fine.

RICHARD
Tell me how are you, where and what do you do?
Brian looks around, remembers that he is not far from a strip club.

BRIAN (OFFERS)
Let's go to a bar, talk, have a drink.

RICHARD (HESITATES)
I'm hurrying home.. My wife is waiting.

BRIAN (COAXING)
When else will we meet like this? Come on, come on, I’ll pay.

RICHARD
Well, if not for long...

BRIAN (CHEERFULLY)
Don't be so conservative! Relax, let's talk.

Brian confidently grabs Richard by the arm and drags him into a strip club.

42.INT. STRIP CLUB-EVENING (SAME DAY).

The music is playing softly in the club, the lights are slightly dimmedand strippers are dancing. There are rare visitors in the club.Brian and Richard were sitting at one of the tables.

Brian beckons the waiter with a confident gesture, Richard sits a little quieter, looking at the club with interest. The waiter comes to the table.

BRIAN (SHOWING OFF IN FRONT OF RICHARD)
For me, as usual, only in a double dose... and arrange it here (gestures to set the table)

WAITER
Okay (moves away from the table)

RICHARD
I see you've started visiting such places.

BRIAN (BOASTFULLY)
I can afford it.Well, how are things at your company?

RICHARD (BRIGHTENING UP)
Everything is fine, we are working. We are now expecting a large order.Mr. Clark is really worried.

BRIAN (ANGRILY)
Serves him right! He  fired a great specialist.

RICHARD (TRYING TO CHANGE THE SUBJECT)
But what about you anyway? What do you do?

BRIAN (CHEATING)
I take individual orders, they pay well.

A young stripper comes dancing to the table, begins to bend in front of Brian and Richard.Richard looks at the stripper, swallows his saliva. Brian takes a bill out of his pocket, puts it under the elastic band of the girl's panties, then carelessly sends the stripper away.

BRIAN (TO THE STRIPPER)
Go, later, later.

The stripper walks away from the table.Richard follows the stripper with his eyes.

RICHARD
I see you're not saving money.

BRIAN (CARELESSLY)
I'll earn more!it comes easily, it leaves easily.

A waiter approaches the table, carries a bottle of whiskey and snacks on a tray, places everything on the table, and departs.Richard looks at a bottle of expensive whiskey.

BRIAN
Let's have a drink instead (opens the bottle, pours it into glasses)

RICHARD
And you drink expensive whiskey.

BRIAN
I'm not saving on myself (picks up a stack)

RICHARD
Let's drink to you, to your success (takes a shot glass)
Brian and Richard drink whiskey, take a snack.Brian looks around the club lazily.

RICHARD (CAUTIOUSLY)
Listen, buddy, can I apply for the same position?

BRIAN (CAUTIOUSLY)
I'm sorry, but the orders come individually to me. I do not doubt your qualifications, but if something goes wrong, then I will lose everything! Don't get me wrong, I won't be able to work for anyone anymore.

RICHARD (DISAPPOINTED)
I see (sighs), but if you suddenly can't cope on your own, then I'm always ready.

BRIAN (CALMING DOWN)
Good, good...

Brian tries to distract Richard from the conversation, he gestures for a stripper. The stripper comes over and starts dancing in front of Brian and Richard.Brian hands the girl a bill.

BRIAN (TO THE STRIPPER)
Baby, dance for my friend.

The stripper starts dancing in front of Richard.Brian takes a bottle of whiskey and pours it into the glasses.Richard is sitting looking at a stripper.

BRIAN (TO RICHARD)
Let's have a drink, buddy (takes a shot glass), let's drink to all this (waves his hand with a shot glass around, looking around the club). That's life! It's not like you're working for Mr. Clark for a penny.

RICHARD (TAKES A STACK)
Why are you doing this, Brian?Mr. Clark has always paid well and fairly.

Brian knocks the glass down into himself.

BRIAN (RESENTFULLY)
Fairly!? I worked for him, and he  kicked me out...me -  a great specialist!
Brian takes the bottle, pours himself another shot and angrily knocks it down.

RICHARD (CAUTIOUSLY)
Brian, you couldn't do your job, you were slowing down the whole project.

Brian pours and drinks another shot.

BRIAN (DRUNKENLY)
Yes, I... (waving his hand)That's even better. But I am my own boss, I want to work, I want to rest.

Brian drunkenly reaches into the inside pocket of his jacket, pulls out a large wad of money.Brian shows the money to Richard.

BRIAN
Look at this! And that's just for today.

Richard looks at the money in surprise.Brian drunkenly puts the money back in his pocket.

From the next table, a YOUNG MAN (about 30 years old) is quietly watching Brian and Richard, he sees Brian drunkenly bragging about money.

BRIAN (BOASTFULLY)
And you're working for that old goat!

RICHARD
Brian, stop it!You were the same way not long ago.

BRIAN
That's enough!You'll all see what I'll become.

Brian drunkenly catches a bottle on the table.

BRIAN
Let's have a drink (pours  whiskey)

RICHARD
Buddy, maybe you've had enough.

BRIAN (STUBBORNLY)
I know when it's enough!Let's have a drink!

Brian and Richard take glasses, drink, have a snack.

BRIAN (DRUNKENLY)
And tell Mr. Clark that I'll get along fine without his handouts!

RICHARD
Brian, I'm probably going to go.And you've had enough.

BRIAN (DRUNKENLY)
Well, get out! You're all jealous of me now.

RICHARD (SIGHS)
Brian, what happened to you.

BRIAN
Go on, go to your Mr. Clark. And I don't want to do that anymore!I myself...

RICHARD (STANDS UP)
Brian, what have you become?

Richard turns, walks away from the table in frustration.

Brian squints after Richard as he leaves.

BRIAN (CLENCHING HIS FIST ANGRILY)
I'll have all of you here!

Richard is leaving the club. Brian takes the bottle, pours himself another shot, drinks, and gestures for the stripper to come to him.The stripper comes over to Brian's table.Brian takes out some bills and casually throws them to the stripper.

BRIAN (DRUNKENLY)
Take it, you're just like me!You take money for nothing.

The stripper picks up the bills, starts dancing in front of Brian. A young man (30 years old) stands up at the next table, looks at Brian attentively once more and leaves the club.

14. 43.EXT.CITY STREET- EVENING(SAME DAY)

A young man suddenly appears in front of Brian, threatens him with a knife.
YOUNG MAN (30 YEARS OLD,AGGRESSIVELY)
Money!Quickly!

Brian drunkenly, in surprise, looks at the knife, not understanding what is happening. The young man raises the knife higher.

YOUNG MAN(30 YEARS OLD)
Well, I'll kill you!

BRIAN (SCARED)
Now... no need.

Brian reaches into his inside pocket, pulls out a wad of money and then abruptly throws it in the robber's face. The young man closes his eyes in surprise, jumps back a little. Brian quickly turns around and runs to the taxi stand. The young man quickly sits down, looks around, picks up money from the road, shoving it into his pockets, then runs in the opposite direction from Brian.

CABBIE
Mister, is something wrong with you? Can I help you?

BRIAN (LOOKS AT THE TAXI DRIVER)
No, I'm fine, thanks.

The taxi driver turns away, looks at the road.Brian looks back thoughtfully.

The taxi stops at Brian's house, and the taxi driver turns to Brian.

CABBIE
We're here, that'll be fifteen dollars.

Brian takes out his wallet and hands the money to the taxi driver.

CABBIE
Have a nice evening, mister.

Brian gets out of the car, goes to the house.

NANCY(ANXIOUSLY)
Darling, you're late again, has anything happened?

BRIAN
No, it's okay.

NANCY
But you're not yourself!

BRIAN
I just need a drink!

NANCY
But you've already been drinking!

BRIAN
Just leave me alone.

Brian takes off his shoes and walks past Nancy into the room.Nancy stands anxiously looking at him.

NANCY
We still haven't talked, you've become so irritating. What's going on with you, Brian?

Brian silently waves his hand away from Nancy and goes into the room.

19. 47.INT.BRIAN'S OFFICE - DAY.

In the office,Brian in disguise sits at the desk.He shakes his head solemnly, listening to another client.

A YOUNG WOMAN (about 30 years old) is sitting in front of him. She looks at Brian admiringly and speaks quickly.

YOUNG WOMAN(30 YEARS OLD)
Your ritual is just wonderful, my husband is delighted with me again, we spend wonderful nights.

BRIAN (IMPORTANT)
The main thing is, do not forget about the remedy that I gave you.

A young woman (30 years old) takes an envelope with money out of her purse, hands it to Brian.

A YOUNG WOMAN (30 YEARS OLD)
Thank you very much again, I will recommend you to all my friends.Goodbye.

The young woman stands up, goes to the door and opens it.A sturdy man in a suit (about 45 years old) is standing outside the door. An FBI AGENT, he politely steps aside to let a young woman pass.

Brian looks at the man carefully, then quickly throws the envelope with the money into the drawer. The man confidently enters the office, closes the door behind him and walks to the table.

BRIAN
Hello, are you here to see me?(he looks at his papers)But there is no reception now, you have not signed up.

BRIAN
What brought you to me?

AN FBI AGENT
Calm down, my name is Daniel Johnson, I'm investigating a missing child. A couple of months ago, the fifteen-year-old daughter of an influential father in our city disappeared. She just left the house and was never seen again. There are no witnesses,  street cameras didn’t catch her.We don't have a single clue, it's just some kind of mystery!

BRIAN (CALMING DOWN A LITTLE)
How can I help you?

FBI AGENT (SIGHING)
Dad is pushing from above, the authorities are demanding at least some result, and we are marking time.I don't know what to do anymore!

BRIAN
But I'm not looking for people.I'm useless to you here.

The FBI agent takes out a photo of the missing girl and shows it to Brian.

AN FBI AGENT
Look, maybe you can identify something from the photo.

Brian looks closely at the picture of the girl. The face of a smiling teenager looks at him.Brian looks away from the photo, feels like a scoundrel and a liar.

BRIAN (TO THE AGENT)
I'm sorry, I can't help you in this case.

FBI AGENT (REMOVES PHOTO)
I was so hoping that there would be at least some kind of clue.

BRIAN
Alas, I can't help you.

FBI AGENT (WEARILY, HOPEFULLY)
If you do get at least some insight or information,  phone me.

The FBI agent turns and leaves the office.Brian exhales with relief, takes the business card, looks at it and puts it in a drawer. Then he wipes his slightly sweaty forehead with a handkerchief and leans back in his chair.

BRIAN (THINKING)
What are you doing!?People believe you, they turn to you... The girl is missing..

Brian stands up, goes to the window, calms himself down.

BRIAN (THINKING)
Easy, Easy.. Everything will be fine, everything will be fine.

Brian goes to the office door, locks the office with a key. Then he goes to the closet, takes out a bottle of whiskey and a shot glass, pours himself and drinks quickly.

BRIAN (THINKING)
What a bastard I am.

Brian sits down at the desk, opens the drawer, takes the FBI agent's business card, looks at the phone, then looks at the money lying in the drawer. He runs his hand over the money, stroking it, then throws the business card into a drawer, angrily slams the drawer and begins to peel off his makeup.

BRIAN (ANGRILY, OUT LOUD)
That's enough!Home.

THE GUARD (TO THE LOSER)
Mister, you're not betting.Let other visitors do this.

LOSER
But I lost everything!I don't have any money with me anymore.

THE GUARD (INSISTS)
Mister, make room for the other players.

The guard resolutely takes the Loser by the arm and takes him away from the table.

LOSER (TRYING TO RESIST)
What are you doing?!

THE GUARD (QUIETLY)
Don't make a fuss, save money Loser. Mr. Taylor only allows you to come here as a regular visitor.

 LOSER (PRETENTIOUSLY)
Yes, for such treatment, I never set foot here again.

THE GUARD (GRINNING)
Where are you going!Save up the money and you're welcome.

The guard leads the Loser to the exit of the casino.

LOSER

A 45-YEAR-OLD WOMAN
You promised that everything would get better with my husband, but instead he packed up his things and left. You're a crook! You deceived me!

BRIAN
I performed the ritual.I gave you drops for your husband. Maybe you did something wrong?

A 45-YEAR-OLD WOMAN
I did everything as you said! And I poured drops for him... but he left anyway. You're just a crook, cashing in on someone else's grief!

BRIAN
I didn't ask you for anything, you came to me.

A 45-YEAR-OLD WOMAN (INTERRUPTS)
And as it turned out in vain, you deceived me, promised that everything would be fine.

BRIAN
I did everything I could.

Brian takes the money out of the drawer and puts it in front of the woman.

BRIAN
Take your money and leave, my reputation is more important to me.

45-YEAR-OLD WOMAN (TAKES MONEY)
And who will return my husband to me!

BRIAN
Go away!That's not my problem.

The woman angrily puts the money in her purse, stands up.

A 45-YEAR-OLD WOMAN
The charlatan!A scammer!

The woman leaves the office slamming the door.

BRIAN (THINKING)
Things don't always go smoothly. But it's better to get off with a little blood than to get charged with fraud.

Brian leans back wearily in his chair.

21. 51.EXT.BRIAN'S OFFICE- DAY(SAME DAY)

SHELLY (SADLY)
All right, let's go.

Mr. Mitchell and his wife Shelly enter Brian's office.

22. 52.INT.BRIAN'S OFFICE-DAY(SAME DAY)

Brian is sitting in the office in makeup, he is dejected and a little upset after an unpleasant conversation with a 45-year-old woman.

V.O. There is a knock on the door.

Brian instantly transforms, takes on a businesslike look.

BRIAN (LOUDLY)
Come in

Mr. Mitchell and his wife Shelly come into the office.

SHELLY (COMING IN)
Hello.

Mr. Mitchell silently nods his head at Brian.

BRIAN
Hello. You didn't make an appointment (looks at his papers).

Shelly walks over to the table and sits down wearily on a chair.Mr. Mitchell comes over, looking at the office with interest.

SHELLY
Forgive us, but we are in a deep sorrow. Our only daughter has gone missing, maybe you can help us somehow.

Shelly takes a photo of her missing daughter out of her purse and shows it to Brian.Brian glances at the photo, he has already seen it with an FBI agent, and sighs imperceptibly.

BRIAN
You know, I have a slightly different profile.I'm not looking for missing people.

Shelly starts crying, Mr. Mitchell comes up behind her, puts his hands on her shoulders, tries to calm her down.

SHELLY (THROUGH TEARS)
Nobody! Nobody can help us.I was so hoping for you...

MR. MITCHELL (TO HIS WIFE)
Calm down dear, all the services of the city are dealing with our problem.Trust me, people are doing their best.

SHELLY (TO HER HUSBAND)
And where is the result? Why hasn't she been found yet!? (turns to Brian).Well, maybe you can at least recommend something.Anything at all, I don't know who to turn to anymore.

BRIAN
I'm sorry, I'm powerless here, I can't help you.

MR. MITCHELL (TO HIS WIFE)
Come on, darling. The official authorities are looking for our daughter.

SHELLY (LOOKING AT BRIAN PLEADINGLY)
Maybe you need money?.. Something else, just help me.

Brian feels like the ultimate scoundrel, but he doesn't show it.

BRIAN
Sorry, I can't do anything.

Shelly silently stands up from her chair and walks to the door with a vacant look, Mr. Mitchell follows her, holding her by the shoulders.Brian leans back wearily in his chair after they leave. He is mentally exhausted and devastated.

BRIAN (THINKS)
What a day!Definitely I need a drink, relax.

Brian stands up, takes a bottle of whiskey out of the closet, pours it and drinks it.

BRIAN (THINKING)
I'm getting stale.I'm getting used to people's grief, I don't care about the problems of people I don't know. Yeah, buddy, that's how you get down to complete cynicism.

Brian sits  down in his chair, thinking for a long time.

CHICAGO.

53.INT.LOSER'S APARTMENT- EVENING.

A Loser is sitting at a table in front of a computer. His appearance is agitated, his hair is disheveled. He looks at the monitor screen with a sinking heart, an online casino roulette is spinning on the screen.

THE LOSER (WHISPERS IN FASCINATION)
Come on, come on a little more...

The roulette wheel on the screen stops at the red sector, the loser slaps his hand on the table in frustration.

LOSER (UPSET)
Well, how is that!?After all, just a little more...

The loser angrily closes the roulette site, then impulsively and irritably presses the mouse button several times.Different sites start flashing on the screen.Suddenly, his gaze catches on something on the screen, the Loser moves to the screen and reads Brian's ad "I will help solve your problems using magic. Make an appointment via the Internet."The loser reads the ad again, then leans back in his chair, his gaze becomes thoughtful.

54.INT.BRIAN'S OFFICE - DAY.

In the office, there is a made-up Brian by the window. He has already forgotten about the recent troubles, he is fit and determined, waiting for a client.

V.O. There is a knock on the office door.

BRIAN
Come in.

A Loser enters the office cautiously, he looks around, he looks a little scared and uncertain.

Brian looks attentively at the client, slightly grinning, sensing an easy profit.

BRIAN
Come in, have a seat.

The loser walks over to the desk, sits down on a chair, looking at Brian a little hunted.

BRIAN
Tell me what brought you to me.

LOSER (SIGHING)
You see, I'm a gambler.Casino, roulette, gambling is my life. But unfortunately I very rarely win, I've already lost everything I had.Even in the casino, they called me a Loser.

The loser falls silent, upset, does not know how to continue the conversation further.

BRIAN (CHEERING)
So what do you want? I don't lend money...

LOSER (HYSTERICALLY)
I need luck!(exhales, calms down) Is it possible to make sure that I always win.

BRIAN (WITH A GRIN)
Lady luck is a very capricious lady, it is difficult to negotiate with her.

THE LOSER (WITH LONGING)
What should I do?I can't help but play, and there's nothing left to lose.

BRIAN (ADDS MYSTERY TO HIS VOICE)
Well, I have a good luck charm.

The loser raises his head hopefully, looks at Brian, frozen.

BRIAN (CONTINUES)
This is not a guarantee of winning, so to speak... a kind of incentive, an accumulator of monetary energy, a magnet for attracting good luck.

THE LOSER (WITH A FEVERISH GLEAM IN HIS EYES)
I need it! Otherwise I'll die!

BRIAN
You also need to be able to handle a talisman.

LOSER
Teach me.I'll do everything, everything!

BRIAN
All right, you'll get it.I see that you need it more.

Brian opens a drawer, takes out a one-dollar bill from the table, shows the Loser the numbers on the bill, the last three ones are sevens.

BRIAN (SIGNIFICANTLY)
Look, the last three numbers  on the bill are sevens. It’s  a sign of good luck.

The loser stares at the numbers in fascination.

BRIAN
The bill has come a long way from hand to hand. Someone parted with it with joy, someone with regret, and it absorbed all this energy into itself .I made a well-being ritual on it.See what it can do.

Brian had previously attached a powerful magnet to the back of the desk surface. He had previously pasted metal filings on the edge of the bill, which were barely visible to the eye. Brian puts the bill on the desk, holding it slightly with his hand.He holds his other hand over a magnet hidden under the table.Brian lets go of the bill and it slowly crawls across the table right into his hand.Brian quickly picks up the bill and pretends that he wants to put it away. This simple trick makes a lasting impression on the Loser.

BRIAN
It  attracts other money with it.

LOSER (HOLDS OUT HIS HAND TO THE BILL)
Give IT TO ME!Give it to me...

BRIAN (PRETENDS NOT TO DARE)
She often helped me out when I was broke.

THE LOSER (FASCINATED)
Give me...It must be  mine.

BRIAN (QUICKLY)
That'll be five hundred dollars.

THE LOSER (COMING TO HIS SENSES)
That's all I have.

BRIAN
I won't part with her for less.

LOSER (HURRIEDLY)
Okay, okay (takes out the money, puts it on the table)
I agree!

BRIAN (HOLDING OUT A BILL)
But remember, it helps the confident and the brave. You need to keep it with you, in a difficult moment, stroke it, saying -Good luck come!

THE LOSER (GREEDILY GRABS THE BILL AND REPEATS)
Good luck come!

BRIAN
Did you understand everything? So, it's up to you...bolder and more confident.
The loser stands up, hides the bill in his inner pocket.

LOSER (FANATICALLY)
That's it, I’ll put an end to this casino!

The loser leaves the office satisfied, his appearance has become more confident, he straightened his shoulders and raised his head.
Brian takes the five hundred dollars, looks at them, then throws them into a drawer.

BRIAN (CYNICALLY)
It's a good combination, the bet is one to five hundred in my favor.

Brian is bursting with a sense of omnipotence and he leans back contentedly in his chair.

CHICAGO.

55.INT.CASINO-EVENING.

Soft music is playing in the casino, waiters are walking with trays, visitors are betting hoping to win. There are guards in the hall looking after the visitors.

A sturdy man, SAMUEL (40 years old), walks through the game room with a worried expression on his face.He walks through the casino hall and enters a small corridor, at the end of which is the door to the office of Mr. Taylor, the owner of the casino.A powerful BODYGUARD (30 years old) stands in front of the door, he recognizes the visitor and nods his head at him.

SAMUEL (TO THE BODYGUARD)
Is he alone in the office?

BODYGUARD.
Yes.

SAMUEL
How is he?

BODYGUARD
 He’s unhappy with everything.

SAMUEL (INHALING)
Okay, I'll come in.

The bodyguard opens the door, Samuel enters the office.

CHICAGO.

56.INT.CASINO-MR. TAYLOR'S OFFICE-EVENING (SAME DAY).

In the office located in the casino, an elderly man, well-dressed, with an expensive watch on his hand, is sitting at a table, this is MR. TAYLOR (about 60 years old), he is looking through business papers, displeased putting them aside.Samuel enters the office.
SAMUEL
Good evening, Mr. Taylor, I have some bad news.

Mr. Taylor looks up sullenly at Samuel.

MR. TAYLOR
What the matter this time?

SAMUEL
There was a gambling supervision inspection today.Violations were found, and the issue had to be resolved with money. With a lot of money.

Mr. Taylor sits sullenly silent.

SAMUEL (CAUTIOUSLY)
Something needs to be done about it. You understand whose work this is, who set them on us.

MR. TAYLOR
He messed with us in all ways. The sanitary inspection was set on the restaurant, someone damaged the electrical substation in the car service station at night so that the service did not work for more than a day. We're losing money everywhere.

SAMUEL
Money is a lucrative business. It can't go on like this anymore, it's a war.

MR. TAYLOR
You can fight with a visible enemy, but he is hiding from us.Did you find him?

SAMUEL
He hasn't been seen in public for over a month, we can't find him.

MR. TAYLOR (EXPLODES)
Look for him!Dig through the whole damn city, but find it! Let every dog follow his trail, he won't get away alive.

SAMUEL
We're looking for him.We are doing everything possible, but it's like he disappeared from life, it's just some kind of mysticism.

MR. TAYLOR
Find him!Any clue, any trace, just so he doesn't get in our way.

Samuel nods goodbye to Mr. Taylor and leaves the office.Mr. Taylor clenches his fists angrily and looks into the distance with hatred.

MR. TAYLOR (ANGRILY)
Damn Carter!Burn in hell for you!

23. CHICAGO.

24. 57.INT.CASINO- EVENING.

In the casino's gaming room, a Loser is sitting at a roulette table. He attentively watches the spinning ball, holds one hand in his inner pocket, rubs a lucky bill between his fingers and whispers "Luck come". He is concentrated and focused. The roulette stops.

THE CROUPIER  (ANNOUNCES)
Twelve red!

LOSER (HAPPILY)
Yes!Yes! (he scoops up a bunch of chips)

THE CROUPIER (DISPLEASED)
Place your bets.

The loser and other players place bets. The croupier spins the roulette wheel. The loser puts his hand in his inner pocket, strokes the bill and whispers "Luck come."The croupier watches the Loser with distrust, suspects him of fraud. The roulette stops.

THE CROUPIER (WITH AMAZEMENT)
Six  black.

LOSER (RECKLESSLY)
Yes!(he scoops up another pile of chips)

The croupier makes a sign to the guard with his eyes, pointing at the Loser. The guard has been watching the Loser's game with surprise for a long time, he nods his head slightly in response and approaches the Loser.

THE GUARD (TO THE LOSER)
Mister.Please come with me.
THE LOSER (LOOKS AROUND IN FRIGHT)
But I'm playing.Why?

THE GUARD
There were suspicions of cheating.Come on.

LOSER
This is my fair win!And I'm not going anywhere...

Another guard quietly approaches from behind, he is waiting for the instructions of the senior.

THE GUARD (TO THE LOSER)
Don't worry, your winnings won't be lost (he signs to the second guard to pick up the chips)

The second guard silently collects the Loser's chips on a tray.

THE GUARD
You will receive your winnings, let's go through.

The guard resolutely takes the Loser by the arm and leads him through the game room, the second guard from behind carries a tray with a bunch of chips.

CHICAGO.

58.INT.CASINO-MR. TAYLOR'S OFFICE- EVENING (SAME DAY).

Mr. Taylor is sitting at the table, he is gloomy, there is an open bottle of expensive whiskey and a glass in front of him.

V.O. There is a knock on the door.

MR. TAYLOR (DISPLEASED)
Yes.

The guards enter the office, they take a Loser.Mr. Taylor looks at them from under his eyebrows. The guard puts a tray of chips on the table, the Loser looks at Mr. Taylor with fright.

THE GUARD (NODS HIS HEAD AT THE CHIPS)
Mr. Taylor, this is his winnings for the evening. He's also hiding something in his pocket.

MR. TAYLOR (PREDATORY)
Loser, you've always lost, what happened to you. Search him.

The guards quickly pat and turn out the pockets of the weakly resisting Loser, putting all his things on the table.

THE GUARD (DISAPPOINTED)
There is nothing.(he punches the Loser in the side)Tell me how you did it.

THE LOSER (CLUTCHING HIS SIDE)
I just won..Oh..this is mine.

MR. TAYLOR (TO THE GUARDS)
Leave us alone.

The guards walk out the door.Mr. Taylor pours whiskey into a glass, tips it into his mouth. The loser stands holding his side, looking at Mr. Taylor with fright.

MR. TAYLOR
I know many ways to cheat casinos...But you don't have anything with you.I don't believe in simple luck (pointing at the Loser)You've always lost!Just admit how you did it and get lost, I don't have time for you.

LOSER
I just won.

MR. TAYLOR (SHOUTING LOUDLY)
Jack!

The door opens and one of the guards looks in.

THE GUARDS
Yes, Mr. Taylor?

MR. TAYLOR (POINTING AT THE LOSER)
He won't admit to his cheating.

The guard jumps up to the Loser and sharply hits him in the kidneys from behind, the Loser groans in pain, falls to his knees.

LOSER (GROANS)
No need...I'll tell you everything.

MR. TAYLOR (TO THE GUARD)
Jack leave us, he's got it all figured out.

THE GUARDS
Okay, Mr. Taylor (goes out the door).

MR. TAYLOR (TO THE LOSER)
So, I'm listening.

THE LOSER (GETS UP FROM HIS KNEES)
I just won (makes a hitch) by having a good luck charm.

MR. TAYLOR
Should I call Jack back?

LOSER
But Mr. Taylor, I'm telling the truth. Look here (pointing to the bill lying on the table), a sorcerer sold it to me.
There is a sign on it- three sevens, it brings good luck.

MR. TAYLOR (LOUDLY)
Jack!

The door opens, a guard looks in.

THE LOSER (WITH FRIGHT)
Don't, Mr. Taylor, I'm telling the truth.Let me explain.

Mr. Taylor nods to the guard to close the door, the guard disappears behind the door.

LOSER (LOOKING BACK AT THE DOOR)
If you remember, Mr. Taylor, I always lost, I had no money left to live, I lost everything.By chance, I saw an ad for this sorcerer on the Internet, believe me, he is real. With the last money I bought this talisman bill from him, you can see the result for yourself (nods his head at the chips)

Mr. Taylor picks up the bill and looks at it.

THE LOSER (CONTINUES)
I do not know what to call it, a miracle, a mystery, but I won.Let me take it away (reaches for the bill).

MR. TAYLOR (SULLENLY)
You think I believed in this nonsense.Just tell the truth.

LOSER (HYSTERICALLY)
But it's true, I have nothing to add!Return the bill.

Mr. Taylor hands the bill to the Loser, the Loser reaches for it, but at the last moment Mr. Taylor abruptly pulls his hand back.

MR. TAYLOR
The address!Where does he live?My people will check your words!

LOSER
He lives far away.

The loser starts rummaging through his belongings, dumped by the guards on the table.

LOSER
Here, I found it (finds and hands over a piece of paper with Brian's address)

Mr. Taylor takes the piece of paper, reads it aloud.

MR. TAYLOR
Cleveland. That’s the place  you are now (
puts a piece of paper on the table)

LOSER
I was desperate. It was the last hope.Give me the bill.

MR. TAYLOR (PUTS THE BILL IN HIS POCKET)
Take your chips and get out!

The loser quickly picks up a tray of chips from the table.

THE LOSER (PLEADINGLY)
Mr. Taylor, return the bill, I'll die without it.

MR. TAYLOR
This conversation is over, get out.Jack!

The door opens, a guard looks in.

MR. TAYLOR (TO THE GUARD)
Make sure he gets his winnings and leaves the place.

THE GUARD (GRINNING)
Okay, Mr. Taylor.

The guard takes the Loser by the arm and leads him out of the office.

Mr. Taylor is sitting at his desk, thoughtfully examining a piece of paper with Brian's address.

MR. TAYLOR (THOUGHTFULLY)
Cleveland.

59.INT.BRIAN'S OFFICE - DAY.

In front of the desk a made-up Brian stands, with a mustache and beard on his face, a wig on his head, a black cloak draped over his shoulders. He looks attentively at the next visitor, a frightened YOUNG WOMAN (about 35 years old) sitting at the table and speaks significantly to her.

BRIAN (IN A CHANGED VOICE)
And remember, I gave you only a means of influence, the rest is up to you. Look, smile and you will see the result, soon a man will appear in your life.

A YOUNG WOMAN OF 35 YEARS OLD (STANDS UP)
Thank you (puts money on the table), goodbye.

The young woman quickly leaves the office.Brian, satisfied with the result, puts the money in a drawer, goes to the window, looks out into the street.

V.O. The front door of the office is heard opening from behind.

Mr. Taylor's powerful bodyguard enters the office, he sees one Brian, turns around, says.

THE BODYGUARD
It's all clear.

Mr. Taylor comes into the office, well-dressed, confident, he slowly looks around the office, looks closely at Brian and sits down on a chair in a masterly manner.
The bodyguard goes out and closes the door behind him.

Brian, seeing a solid client and sensing profit, comes and sits down at the table.

BRIAN
Hello.How can I help you?

Mr. Taylor pauses, scrutinizing Brian.Under his gaze, Brian starts to get a little nervous, but tries not to show it.

MR. TAYLOR (GRIMLY)
I need a life, the life of one person.

BRIAN (WITH A SLIGHT SHUDDER)
Explain.

Mr. Taylor takes a photo of Mr. Carter out of his pocket and shows it to Brian.

A middle-aged man in his 60s looks at Brian from the photo.

MR. TAYLOR (WITH AN EVIL FORCE IN HIS VOICE)
I really want him to be gone.Put a spell on him, send a curse, do whatever you want just to make him disappear from my life.

BRIAN
You're wrong.I don't do this kind of thing.

MR. TAYLOR (LOOKING AT ME)
You're going to get a lot of money (makes a meaningful pause) or very big trouble.

BRIAN (TRYING TO LOOK MENACING)
And you are not afraid that the curse will fall on your head.I can turn everything against you.

MR. TAYLOR (GRINNING)
No one is immune from a fire, from a beating on the street, and believe me, it's better to do as I said.

BRIAN (CAUTIOUSLY)
And if I still disagree?

MR. TAYLOR (CONFIDENTLY)
I know for a fact that a bullet in the head kills faster than a curse.

Brian opens a desk drawer and frantically searches for an FBI agent's business card.He finds it, takes it out, and shows it to Mr. Taylor.

BRIAN
I am approached by different people and I can cause you a lot of problems by contacting them for help.

MR. TAYLOR (FIRMLY)
I don't care.I have decided that I should end his existence.

Brian dejectedly puts the agent's business card back on the table.

BRIAN (TRYING TO SOFTEN THE SITUATION)
Explain what happened to you?Maybe I can help you in another way.

MR. TAYLOR (EMPHATICALLY)
There is no other way.I am so furious that I see only one way out.I need this man's life and you will do as I say.

Mr. Taylor places a photo of Mr. Carter on the table in front of Brian.

MR. TAYLOR
On the back is his address, contacts and remember, either a lot of money or... (pauses) big problems.

Mr. Taylor gets up from his chair and leaves the office without saying goodbye.Brian takes the photo, turns it over, and there is a paper with printed text pasted on the back.Brian reads the first line.

BRIAN (ALOUD)
Chicago.Carter.

Brian throws the photo on the table, goes to the window, cautiously looks out from behind the curtain. He sees a big black car parked on the street. The bodyguard looks around, opens the back door, and Mr. Taylor gets into the car.The bodyguard nods his head at Brian's office, quickly gets into the front seat and the driver starts the car.

A young man of gangly appearance (about 25 years old) remains on the street, an OBSERVER, he follows the car with his eyes, then raises his head looks at the windows of Brian's office, walks away to the wall.Brian stealthily moves away from the window and sits down at the table, exhausted.

60.INT.BRIAN'S OFFICE- DAY (SAME DAY).

Brian, in disguise, is sitting at the table with his head in his hands, he is scared and dejected, he is trying to figure out how to get out of this situation.

BRIAN (THINKING)
They don't know me by sight, where I live too... they can contact the landlord, he has my details. What should I do?The office is under surveillance, I won't be able to work here anymore. Drop everything and run, leave. And the family.. Oh my God, what am I going to say to Nancy.

V.O. Brian's cell phone rings.

Brian starts in surprise and picks up the phone.

BRIAN (IRRITABLY ON THE PHONE)
Hello, I'm listening.

25. LA PORTE.

26. 61.INT.NOLAN'S HOUSE- DAY (AT THE SAME TIME).

In his house, the husband of Brian's cousin, NOLAN (35 years old), is standing in the room, talking on the phone with Brian.

NOLAN (ON THE PHONE)
Hi Brian, this is Nolan.Do you remember that your cousin Emily's birthday is tomorrow? She looks forward to your call every time... Yes, yes, she buzzed my ears telling me how you used to play as a child.Don't forget to congratulate her tomorrow, call her.

27. CLEVELAND.

28. 62.INT.BRIAN'S OFFICE IS A DAY (AT THE SAME TIME).

Brian is sitting at his desk in the office, talking on the phone with Nolan.

BRIAN (BRIGHTENS UP IN CONVERSATION)
Of course, of course Nolan, I will personally come to congratulate her tomorrow evening.Yeah, great, let's go fishing, have a beer. See you Nolan, bye.

Brian turns off the phone, puts it on the table.

BRIAN (THINKING)
I'll stay in La Porte for now, the main thing is to wait, maybe something will change.

Brian resolutely stands up and begins to take off his makeup.

29. 63.EXT.BRIAN'S OFFICE- DAY (SAME DAY).

Brian comes out of the office and onto the street. He washed off his makeup, took off his beard and mustache, he is in his usual clothes.Brian pretends to be an ordinary office visitor and calmly walks past the observer. There is a young man standing on the street, an observer, he follows Brian by with an indifferent look.

Brian hides around the corner, takes a quick breath and quickly walks to the abandoned car.

30. 64.INT. BRIAN'S APARTMENT- EVENING.

Brian rushes around the room, he collects and puts his things in a suitcase.

Nancy enters the room, she looks in surprise at the rushing, excited Brian.

NANCY
Honey, you're early today.Something happened?

BRIAN
Cousin Emily's birthday is tomorrow.Pack up your things and the kids, we're going to congratulate her in the morning.

NANCY (SURPRISED)
But this can also be done over the phone. What happened to you, you haven't been to her for several years.

BRIAN
This year I decided to congratulate her personally.Pack your things, we're going to stay with them for a few days.

NANCY (CONFUSED)
You didn't warn me, I can't do this. And my job... children need to attend school. Just call her.

BRIAN (IRRITABLY)
No, that's what I decided. We are going to congratulate Emily personally, she is waiting for us.

NANCY (SITS DOWN ON A CHAIR)
Brian, tell me what's going on with you. You're not yourself.

BRIAN
Everything is fine. We're just going away for a few days to visit our cousin.

NANCY (OFFENDED)
Brian, you've decided for everyone again, without asking my opinion.I can't do this.

BRIAN (STOPPING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROOM)
What's bothering you, just pack your things and the kids, we're leaving.

NANCY (RAISES HER VOICE)
Brian, you can't hear me! I have a job, the kids have  school. It had to be agreed before, I can't just snap like that.

BRIAN (SETS A CONDITION)
Either we're going together or (pauses) I'm leaving alone.

NANCY (SADLY)
Brian, you've changed a lot lately. You don't hear me, you don't care what's going on with me.

BRIAN (IMPATIENTLY)
Let's go together, you'll tell me everything on the way, get ready.

NANCY (HESITATING)
No, Brian, I'm not going. It's like something happened to you, like you're running from someone. And you're not telling me that...

BRIAN (INTERRUPTS IRRITABLY)
We're just going to a birthday party, the whole family. Pack up, we're leaving in the morning.

NANCY (FIRMLY)
No, I'm not going, the kids are staying at home.

BRIAN (FURIOUS)
In that case, I'm leaving alone!

NANCY
Do whatever you want!

Nancy leaves the room in indignation.Brian throws his things into a suitcase with annoyance and sits down on a chair, holding his head in his hands in resignation.

31. 65.INT.BRIAN'S APARTMENT- MORNING.

Nancy is standing by the window in the room, looking out at the street. She sees Brian loading a suitcase into the car, getting into and driving away from the house.Nancy sighs sadly, watching Brian's car go and walks away from the window.

32. 66.EXT.BRIAN'S OFFICE - DAY.

A young man, an observer, stands on the street in front of Brian's office, looks at the office window, then takes out his phone and calls Mr. Taylor.

THE OBSERVER (BY PHONE)
Mr. Taylor, it's me.He disappeared, didn't leave the office yesterday, didn't come in today.I didn't go anywhere... It's just kind of mystical.Got it, I'll be waiting.

The observer turns off the phone and walks away to the wall of the building.

33. CHICAGO.

34. 67.INT.CASINO- DAY (AT THE SAME TIME).

Mr. Taylor is sitting in his office at the casino. He puts the phone on the table after talking to the observer.

MR. TAYLOR (ALOUD, THOUGHTFULLY)
Some kind of devilry.

35. 68.EXT. ROAD-BRIAN'S CAR- DAY.

Brian's car is speeding along the road at high speed. He is sitting at the wheel, annoyed by the quarrel with Nancy and scared of trouble with Mr.Taylor.Brian's condition is scared and excited.

BRIAN (ALOUD)
Don’t worry, everything will be fine.

36. 69.INT.CAFE- DAY.

At lunchtime, Richard enters the cafe, he looks for a vacant table and suddenly notices Nancy sitting in the corner. She looks sad and thoughtful. She has a cup of coffee and a cake in front of her, but Nancy doesn't eat anything.Richard walks over to Nancy's table.

RICHARD
Hi Nancy.

NANCY (RAISES HER HEAD IN FRUSTRATION)
Hi Rich.

RICHARD
Can I sit here?

NANCY
Of course (moves his plates), please.

Richard sits down at Nancy's table, the WAITRESS quickly approaches the table, she asks Richard.

WAITRESS
Good afternoon, what would you like?

RICHARD
Coffee, please, and a big burger.

The waitress writes down the order and walks away from the table.

Nancy sits upset, but tries not to show it.

NANCY
How are things at the company?

RICHARD (ENTHUSIASTICALLY)
Everything is fine!Mr. Clark has received a really profitable order. So there will be a lot of work.

NANCY
Are you coping without Brian?

RICHARD
Yes.And how is he doing?

NANCY (DEJECTEDLY)
Everything is fine, thank you.

A waitress comes to the table and brings Richard's order.

THE WAITRESS (TO RICHARD)
Your order (puts coffee and burger on the table).

RICHARD
Thank you.

The waitress moves away from the table.

RICHARD (CAREFUL, NANCY)
Nancy, do you know what Brian does?

NANCY (SIGHING SLIGHTLY)
He doesn't tell me much, he says he carries out individual orders.

RICHARD
He's changed a lot, what's going on with him?

Nancy gets a lump in her throat, she's ready to cry.

NANCY
I don't know...He doesn't say anything...And he became very distant from me.

RICHARD (SIGHING)
He went from being a kind guy to an evil cynic.

NANCY (WITH TEARS IN HER VOICE)
He's the same at home.. He began to return late, often drunk.
RICHARD
At least he's got the money.I met him here recently...

Richard stops in mid-sentence, not knowing whether to tell her more.

NANCY (INTERESTED)
Where did you see him?

RICHARD (DECIDES TO TELL EVERYTHING)
He invited me to a strip club, said he would buy me a drink, bragged about a large wad of money. I got the impression that he was a regular visitor there.

Nancy covers her face with her hands, tears streaming through her fingers.

NANCY
What a scoundrel!

Richard picks up a napkin from the table and hands it to Nancy.

RICHARD

Richard pats Nancy on the shoulder, calms her down.

RICHARD
Calm down.I promise to talk to him when he gets back.

NANCY (HOPEFULLY)
Really?Talk to him, Rich, find out what's going on with him.

Nancy wipes her eyes with a napkin, cleans herself up, looks at her watch, gets up.

BRIAN (TURNS TO THE NURSE)
My God, what's wrong with him?

NURSE (IN A WHISPER)
Brain tumor, glioblastoma. His days are numbered. We all feel so sorry for Dr. Adams. This is an old friend of his from Chicago.Sit down, wait a bit.

The nurse sighs and starts writing something in a magazine. Brian walks away and sits on a chair in the hallway, then stealthily pulls out of an inner pocket the photo of Mr. Carter that Mr. Taylor gave him. From the photo, an emaciated patient looks at Brian, who was taken along the corridor of the hospital, this is Mr. Carter.Brian puts the photo in his pocket, exhales with relief and leans back in his chair, closing his eyes.

Dr. Adams walks briskly out of the office.

THE NURSE (TO BRIAN)
Poor man, he has so much trouble with a dying friend.

BRIAN
Why did the patient need to come here, he can be treated in Chicago.

NURSE
I do not know what happened there, but they say that he only trusts Dr. Adams.
(puts down the napkin with the solution)

Brian is sitting in the office in makeup, a slightly PLUMP BLONDE (over 30 years old) is sitting at the table in front of him, with a silly expression on her face, she listens to Brian with her eyes wide.

BRIAN (SIGNIFICANTLY)
And remember, the ritual is valid for two weeks, until the next full moon.During this time, you must charm and conquer the man you like, do everything possible for him to pay his attention to you.

PLUMP BLONDE (RESOLUTELY)
I understood everything.I'll do everything, everything.

The blonde takes money out of her purse and puts it on the table.

A PLUMP BLONDE
Thank you, goodbye.

The blonde stands up and leaves the office.Brian, with a sense of superiority, carelessly throws the money into a drawer and leans back in his chair.

V.O. There is a timid knock on the door.

Brian quickly assumes an important and mysterious look.

BRIAN (LOUDLY)
Come in.

The office door opens and a Loser timidly enters.Brian, a little confused for a moment, begins to think quickly.

BRIAN (THINKING)
What does he want again?

The loser timidly approaches the table, sits down.

LOSER
Hello.It's me again.

BRIAN
What else happened to you?

LOSER
Could you give me another good luck charm.

BRIAN
And what happened to that?

LOSER (EMBARRASSED)
I lost it...

BRIAN (RELAXES)
You see, this is not a Factory , they are not ready in stock. I need time to perform the Sacrament... Certain phases of the moon.

The loser covers his face with his hands, he is upset and dejected.

LOSER (LOST)
Luck has finally turned against me.

BRIAN (THINKING QUICKLY)
Do not despair, we will attract good luck back.

The loser raises his head hopefully and looks at Brian. Brian takes out a green candle from the table and an old coin bought from a junk dealer.

BRIAN
In the evenings, light this candle and imagine how all your hardships burn in its flame, and in the morning stroke this coin imagining that luck is everywhere. You are always lucky.

The loser looks at the candle and the coin with dilated eyes.

BRIAN (CONTINUES)
But this process is not fast, it will take a long time until luck returns to you.

LOSER (IMPATIENTLY)
Okay, okay, I got it.

BRIAN (CHUCKLING SLIGHTLY)
Then, for you, as for a regular customer, It’ll only cost five hundred dollars.

The Loser sighs, takes out the money and puts it on the table.Brian pushes a candle and a coin towards the Loser.

BRIAN
Do not lose the talismans and luck will always be with yours.

The loser carefully puts a candle and a coin in his pocket and stands up.

THE LOSER (WITH FEELING)
Thank you.You're saving me again.

BRIAN

Have you seen Brian, talked to him?

RICHARD (WITH A SIGH)
I tried to call him several times, but he won't answer the phone.

NANCY (SADLY)
That's the same with me, he doesn't want to talk. If I  ask him, he always says he's fine.

RICHARD (CAUTIOUSLY)
Well, since everything is fine, maybe it's not worth asking him?

NANCY
But I can see how our life together has changed! He lives his own life, and I live another one with the children.I'm so tired of all this.

Nancy sits slumped, head and shoulders down, about to cry.Richard, feeling sorry for Nancy, starts stroking her hand, calms her down.

RICHARD
Nancy, calm down, everything will be fine.Maybe he has such a period in his life.

Nancy is sitting, looking into the distance.

NANCY (SADLY)
He's getting further and further away from me... We haven't been close for a very long time. He often comes home late, drunk, and doesn't say anything.

RICHARD (FEELING SORRY FOR NANCY)
Everything will beok, you need to wait a little.

NANCY (EXHAUSTED)
I'm so tired of everything (leans over and puts her head on Richard's shoulder), I want a normal life like before.
RICHARD (PATS NANCY ON THE SHOULDER)

NANCY
I don't know... I'm completely confused.At least you're supporting me.

Nancy looks up at Richard, looks at him and stretches her lips to kiss him.Richard hesitates a little, but returns Nancy's kiss. The kiss lasts for a while, then Nancy abruptly breaks away from Richard.

NANCY (EMBARRASSED)
I'm sorry, something came over me... I'm not myself.

RICHARD (REASSURING)
Maybe he'll come soon and we'll talk.

NANCY (DEJECTEDLY)
He started coming late. And I'm still waiting, wandering around the house alone, and then I go to bed.

Brian, in order not to betray himself in his voice, nods his head and throws the hood of his cloak over his head.

BRIAN (IN A HOLLOW VOICE)
How can I help you?

NANCY (SIGHING)
I don't know. I'm completely confused.I had a normal life and suddenly everything changed. My husband had some business of his own and he completely distanced himself from me, we don't communicate much. Our family life has gone wrong... and somehow a new man appeared in my life who understands me.

. and I was suddenly diagnosed with cancer, I haven't told my husband anything yet, and my lover is worried about me.Maybe this is a punishment for my fall from grace or some kind of corruption? I don't know, I'm exhausted, and there's no one to consult about such things.

Brian sits silently, shrinking, restraining himself with the last of his strength so as not to give himself away.

NANCY(WITH LONGING)
Can you help me?

BRIAN (IN A HOLLOW VOICE)
I'm not feeling well right now, I'm energetically drained. Come next time.

NANCY (SIGHING)
I am unlikely to come again, but the problems will not go away.

BRIAN (CLASPING HIS HANDS AND LOWERING HIS HEAD LOWER)
Leave some of your stuff, a handkerchief or a comb, I'll look for damage... and bring me a picture of your lover, in case the problem is with him.

NANCY

NANCY (HESITANTLY)
Goodbye.

Brian mumbles indistinctly in response to her.Nancy, looking back at Brian, quickly leaves the office.

Brian tries to calm down, sits, counts to ten.

BRIAN (IN AN ANGRY WHISPER)
.. three, four, five.. Bitch!!!

Brian jumps out of his chair in a rage and sweeps everything from the table to the floor with hatred. Then, in a frenzy, he bangs his fist on an empty table.

BRIAN (ANGRILY)
Bitch, Bitch!!!

Brian kicks the chair, bangs his fist on the wall, then  collapses in the chair and closes his eyes.

96.INT.BRIAN'S OFFICE- DAY (SAME DAY).

A young woman (35 years old) approaches the door of Brian's office, she made an appointment with Brian via the Internet and came to solve her problems. The office door is closed, a young woman came up and leaned her ear to the office door to listen to what was going on behind the door.

97.INT.BRIAN'S OFFICE - DAY (AT THE SAME TIME).

In a trashed office, a drunk Brian is sitting at a table, he took off his makeup, took off his raincoat.Brian pours himself a shot of whiskey and drinks it fiercely, winces and immediately pours himself another.

BRIAN (DRUNKENLY WHISPERS ANGRILY)
 Bitch!

Brian picks up the shot glass and drinks it.

V.O.There is a knock on the office door.

Brian raises his head and looks at the door with hatred. He is angry and offended at the whole world.

BRIAN (DRUNKENLY SHOUTS)

Brian throws an empty stack at the office door, the stack breaks with a clang.

V.O. A woman's frightened cry and quick steps can be heard outside the door.

98.INT.BRIAN'S OFFICE- DAY (SAME DAY).

The office is dark, the light from the street lamp falls slightly into the room, a drunken Brian is sleeping in an armchair, huddled. He moans and moans in his sleep, he has nightmares.

55. BRIAN'S DREAM.

People's faces appear in front of Brian's eyes. The face of a young female client appeared, who says "I need a man", her face is changed by a Loser gambler, with a feverish look he whispers "I need luck", then Mr. Taylor's face appears, he looks sullenly and says "I need a life, this man's life".The faces of people who need something fly in front of Brian and they demand it from Brian. Brian shudders in his sleep, moans, tries to turn over in his chair.Nancy's face appears in front of Brian's eyes. She looks at Brian with a pleading look and says, "Don't ruin our lives.Save me, Brian."Brian reaches out to Nancy in his sleep, but she falls into a dark abyss, only her cry "Save me Bran!" is heard.

Brian wakes up abruptly, looks around the office in disbelief, sighs, settles back into his chair and falls asleep again.

99.INT.BRIAN'S OFFICE - DAY.

The office is a mess, magical attributes are scattered, candles are lying on the floor.Brian is sitting at the table, he looks "hungover", he lit a candle on the table in front of him and stared into its flame with an unseeing gaze.

BRIAN (THINKING)
I've ruined everything in my life by myself, I need to fix everything... but how? Nancy, what have we done?

Brian resolutely blows out the candle on the table and stands up.

100.EXT.STREET- DAY.

Richard is walking briskly down the street, in a crowd of people, he is smiling, he is happy with life. Suddenly, in a crowd of people, someone pulls his sleeve, Richard looks around and sees a BOY (about 12 years old) next to him.

BOY (TO RICHARD)
I'm sorry, mister.

Richard looks at the boy questioningly, the boy hands Richard an envelope.

THE BOY (TO RICHARD)
Take this. It’s for you.

RICHARD
What is it?

BOY
I was asked to give it to you.

Richard takes the envelope in his hands, looks at it, the envelope is sealed, nothing is written on it.

RICHARD
Who is this letter from?

Richard looks up from the envelope, looking for the boy.The boy is nowhere to be found, he has disappeared in the  crowd.Richard stands looking around the street, being pushed by passers-by.Richard, surprised, puts the envelope in his pocket and walks on.

101.EXT.STREET- DAY (AT THE SAME TIME).

On the street, around the corner of the house, stands Brian. The boy who handed the envelope to Richard quickly approaches him.
THE BOY (TO BRIAN)
I did everything, mister.

BRIAN
Great, here's your money.

Brian hands the boy twenty dollars, the boy takes the money and walks away joyfully. Brian looks from behind the corner of the house, notices Richard walking down the street and follows him with his eyes.

102.INT.CAFE- DAY (SAME DAY).

Richard enters the cafe, finds a vacant table in the corner and walks over to it, sits down.A waitress approaches Richard.

WAITRESS
What will you order?

RICHARD
Coffee, please.

The waitress walks away from Richard's table.Richard takes out his phone and  calls Nancy.

RICHARD (ON THE PHONE)
Hi.I'm waiting for you at the cafe.

103.EXT.STREET- DAY (AT THE SAME TIME).

Nancy is walking quickly down the street, she is in a hurry to meet Richard.Nancy looks carefully at the passers, afraidto meet acquaintances.

V.O.The phone rings from Nancy's purse.

Nancy takes out her phone, looks at the screen and smiles happily, Richard is calling her.

NANCY (ON THE PHONE)
Yes.. I'm on my way, I'll be there soon. See you.

Nancy turns off her phone, puts it in her purse and speeds up her pace.

104.INT.CAFE- DAY (SAME DAY).

Richard is sitting at a table in the corner of the cafe.A cup of hot coffee is on the table in front of him.Richard puts down the phone after talking to Nancy and remembers about the envelope. He takes it out, looks at it carefully once more, then opens it and takes out a letter with the written text in block letters. Richard reads the text, shudders, looks around and carefully reads it again.

RICHARD (READING)
I am aware of your vicious affair with a married woman. In order to preserve your family life and not compromise your friend's wife, you should come to the address.... otherwise, you will both face death.

Richard looks up from the letter, looks back once more, he holds the letter in front of him, then looks down at the letter again. In front of him there is a completely blank sheet, the text has disappeared, the letter is written in disappearing ink.Richard looks at a blank piece of paper in surprise, turns it over, looking at it from all sides.Richard thinks warily, then crumples and crumples the letter, throws it on the table. He takes out the money for the coffee and puts it under the cup. Richard stands up and quickly leaves the cafe.

105.INT.CAFE- DAY (SAME DAY)

A joyful Nancy enters the cafe, she looks for Richard in the hall, does not see him and goes to a table in the corner.Nancy stands looking at the table in surprise. There is a crumpled paper, an envelope and a cup of steaming coffee on the table.Nancy looks around the cafe hall in surprise and takes the crumpled paper, unfolds it, and a blank sheet is in front of her.She puts it on the table and sits down, Nancy looks surprised and alarmed.

106.EXT.BRIAN'S OFFICE - EVENING.

Richard is standing in front of the office building on the street. He looks thoughtfully at the building, examines the office windows, deciding whether to enter or not. Then he turns around, deciding to leave and takes a few steps. The phrase "imminent death awaits you" sounds in Richard's head, Richard stops abruptly, stands thinking a little.

RICHARD (THINKING)
Someone else knows about this secret.

Richard turns around and enters the office building.

107.INT.BRIAN'S OFFICE - EVENING.

The office is in semi-darkness, candles are burning, the reflections of the flames play on the walls.

Brian is sitting at the table in makeup, he is concentrated and focused, waiting for Richard's arrival.

V.O.There is a knock on the office door.

BRIAN
Come in.
The door opens and Richard stands in the doorway. He looks into the office in surprise, seeing the mystical entourage, hesitantly takes a step forward.

RICHARD (HESITANTLY)
Good evening, I got a message...

Brian pulls the hood of his raincoat deeper over his head and makes an inviting gesture with his hand.

BRIAN (MUFFLED)
Sit down.

Richard cautiously approaches the table, looks at Brian carefully and sits down.

BRIAN (IN A SEPULCHRAL VOICE)
I had a vision about your vicious affair with a woman. Then your face appeared distorted with pain, in the throes of death. It was a warning from the higher powers about your imminent death, because of an unseemly act.

RICHARD (CAUTIOUSLY)
This concerns only me and her...

Brian makes a stopping gesture with his hand, stretches out his hand to the burning candle on the table and sprinkles over it the powder, prepared in advance and hidden in his fist. The candle flame hisses loudly, cracks, a ball of fire flashes above the candle, powder burns, clouds of white smoke appear in the air. Richard recoils from the desk in fright.

BRIAN (SIGNIFICANTLY)
The higher powers monitor our every action and severely punish our sins! Both of you will be punished for a vicious relationship!

RICHARD (UPSET)
But from where...How? Oh..., I see...magician.

BRIAN (CONTINUES)
I had a vision and I have to warn you and save you.You will ruin two women, a wife and a lover, and then you will die yourself!

RICHARD
I don't believe it, it's some kind of nonsense.

BRIAN
The higher powers don't care if you believe it or not!Everything happens according to their will! Your wife will find out about this relation, it will put  an  end to the family life, the mistress will begin to wither and get sick, and the worst awaits you ahead....

RICHARD (SCARED)
What?

BRIAN
Loss of family, friends and (pauses) Life itself!

RICHARD (SHUDDERS)
And what should I do?

BRIAN
Before it's too late, you need to break up with your lover and perform a ritual to return to your previous life.

RICHARD
But she's feeling sick and hard right now, she's all alone.

Brian raises his hand to interrupt Richard.

BRIAN
A ritual of purification from sins will be held for her, her life will get better.

RICHARD
And my wife?

BRIAN
For her, life will go on as usual.

Richard sits confused, oppressed by the situation, he does not know what to do.

BRIAN (INSISTS)
You must immediately notify your lover of the breakup, then begin the ritual of return.

Brian surreptitiously takes a pinch of powder from a bag suspended from a chair and throws it on a burning candle. The powder burns with a bright flame again and creates clouds of white smoke, Richard flinches in fright.

BRIAN

Call her while the moon phase is suitable for the ritual!

RICHARD (HESITATING)
Probably it will be better for everyone.

Richard takes out his phone, looks uncertainly at Brian, and dials Nancy's number.

RICHARD (ON THE PHONE)
Hi.(he pauses, then speaks decisively)Nancy, we need to break up, it's better for everyone.I'm sorry for everything, goodbye.

Brian is sitting, tensely clenching his fists and clenching his teeth, but in the dimness of the room Richard does not see this.Richard turns off the phone and puts it in his pocket.

RICHARD (SIGHS)
That's all.

BRIAN
And now let's have a ritual of returning to the old life.

Brian takes out a copper basin with water from under the table, at the bottom of which there is a mirror, puts the basin in front of Richard on the table.

BRIAN
Start.Take a deep breath and exhale.Look in the mirror at the bottom.

Richard begins to peer into the mirror at the bottom of the basin. He is easily suggestible, the office environment has a mystical effect on him, his pupils dilate and he thoughtlessly stares into the mirror.

BRIAN (IMPRESSIVELY)
You see your former happy life, you don't need to lie, hide and hide your feelings.
Richard is sinking deeper into a kind of trance feeling. Brian takes out a black candle, lights it, and puts it in Richard's hand.

BRIAN
Hold a candle over the mirror.

Richard obediently follows Brian's instructions. The black wax from the candle drips onto the mirror, falling into the water it hisses and takes bizarre shapes.

BRIAN (CONTINUES TO SUGGEST)
You see Yourself, By Your actions, destroying Your life (emphasizes the word yourself).

Richard shudders and stares with widened eyes at the black wax at the bottom of the basin. The glow of the candle flame plays on his face, and sweat appears on Richard's forehead.Brian stealthily takes out a metal wand and hits it on the edge of the copper basin. The basin emits a bell ringing, ripples pass over the surface of the water. Richard starts, looks at Brian in fright.

BRIAN
Put the candle in the water, put it out.

Richard puts the candle in the basin, the candle hisses and goes out.

BRIAN
Now say "Water wash away all my hardships and sorrows, return everything to the way it was before" and rinse your face three times with this water.

Richard whispers and repeats the words, then dips his hands into a basin of water and rinses his face three times.

BRIAN
That's it, the ritual works and you just have to wait for the result.Go away.

Richard sits, wipes his face with a handkerchief, then stands up dazedly and, impressed by what is happening, hesitantly leaves the office.Brian sits, exhales deeply, throws back the hood from his head.

BRIAN (THOUGHTFULLY)
Now I need to return everything to the way it was before.

108.INT.BRIAN'S APARTMENT - EVENING.

V.O.The sound of the door opening is heard.

Brian enters the apartment, he takes off his shoes and goes into the living room. There is no one in the living room, Brian goes into the bedroom and stops in the doorway. In the bedroom, Nancy is lying on the bed with her legs tucked on her side. She cried all evening after Richard's call and fell asleep in anguish, without undressing. Brian stands looking at Nancy, he feels sorry for her, he carefully enters, takes the blanket and covers the sleeping Nancy.Brian turns and walks out of the bedroom.

 A FEW DAYS HAVE PASSED.

109.INT.BRIAN'S OFFICE - EVENING.

Brian is sitting in a darkened office, wearing makeup. He waited several days for Nancy's arrival, prepared the props for her visit, but she did not make an appointment online and did not come in person.Brian sits brooding, doesn't know what else to do.

BRIAN (ALOUD)
Well, where are you?

V.O.Someone is knocking on the office door.

Brian quickly pulls the hood over his head.

BRIAN (LOUDLY)
Come in.

The door opens and Nancy enters the office. She looks haggard and drooping, and has been tormenting herself with doubts for a long time.

NANCY (SOFTLY)
Hello.I decided to come to you again.

Brian makes an inviting gesture with his hand, Nancy passes and sits down at the desk, Brian silently looks at her from under his hood.

NANCY (SADLY)
My life is crumbling, no one needs me... first, the relationship with my husband went wrong, and then (pauses)my lover left me without explaining anything. This is some kind of curse, I do not know how to live with it anymore.

Nancy lowers her head, ready to burst into tears.

BRIAN (IN A HOLLOW VOICE)
Calm down. Now let's see what's going on with you.

Brian takes out three twisted candles, two white and one black, and lights them in front of Nancy. He puts an old mirror behind the candles, bought from an old man.

BRIAN
Look through the flames at your reflection in the mirror, look into your eyes.

Nancy raises her head and looks in the mirror. The glare of the fire is running on her face, she is looking intently at her face.Nancy's face smooths out and  shebecomes calm.

Brian looks at Nancy's face and thinks.

BRIAN (THINKING)
But we were happy once.

BRIAN (ALOUD)
I don't see any curse on you. You're just messed up in life, but it's fixable.

Nancy looks up from the mirror and looks at Brian.

BRIAN (CONTINUES)
You need to reset, start all over again.Let's have a cleansing ritual.

Nancy's spirits lifted, her eyes sparkled, and she's ready to follow Brian's instructions.

BRIAN (IMPRESSIVELY)
Look at the candle flame, imagining how all your problems burn in it.

Nancy is sitting, staring at the burning candles.Brian takes a copper basin of water from under the table and puts it on the table.

BRIAN
You had a photo of your (pauses) lover.

NANCY
Only on the phone.

BRIAN
Open it and swipe the photo over the candle, then delete it.

Nancy quickly takes out her phone, finds a photo of Richard and holds it over the candle, then resolutely deletes it.Nancy is slightly distracted, and Brian discreetly throws a pinch of powder into the water. The water instantly turns black.

BRIAN
Now take your comb and swipe the comb over the flame.

Nancy takes out a comb and holds it over the candle.

BRIAN (CONTINUES)
Rinse the comb in water and hide it.

Nancy wants to wash the comb in water and is horrified to see black water.

BRIAN (INSISTS)
Rinse the comb and hide it.

Nancy carefully, with fright, follows Brian's instructions and hides the comb in her purse, again slightly distracted.Brian quickly throws another antidote powder into the water. The water becomes clean.Nancy looks up and looks at the water in surprise.

BRIAN
Take candles and throw them into the water.

Nancy takes the burning candles and throws them into a basin of water. The candles go out hissing.

BRIAN
Now pronounce it clearly"Start from the beginning."

Nancy closes her eyes, exhales deeply, and speaks.

NANCY
Start from the beginning!

BRIAN
All your problems have burned away and you have washed away all your sins.

Nancy exhales freely and listens attentively to Brian.

BRIAN
When you come home, comb your husband with your enchanted comb and you will see how your relationship will begin to improve.

Nancy stands up, looking more determined.
NANCY
Thank you, I was just revived by your ritual. How much do I owe you?

BRIAN (SO AS NOT TO AROUSE SUSPICION)
Two hundred dollars.

Nancy takes out the money and puts it on the table.

NANCY
Goodbye.

BRIAN
Go and remember about the comb.

Nancy leaves the office elated.Brian leans back wearily in his chair.

BRIAN (ALOUD)
Well, let's start all over again.

110.INT.BRIAN'S APARTMENT- EVENING.

In the apartment, Nancy is standing at the stove in the kitchen, she is stirring something in a saucepan, she has a cheerful and attractive appearance.

V.O. The front door can be heard opening.

Nancy leaves the stove and goes into the hallway.Brian is standing in the hallway, taking off his shoes.

BRIAN
Hi.I'm hungry.

NANCY (LOOKS AT BRIAN ATTENTIVELY)
Hi, wash your hands and come into the kitchen, I've cooked dinner.

Nancy thinks for a moment, then resolutely takes a comb out of her pocket, runs it through Brian's hair a couple of times.

NANCY
That's better.

Nancy puts the comb in her pocket and goes to the kitchen, Brian is standing behind Nancy, smiling slyly.

BRIAN (ANXIOUSLY)
Well, what did the tests show?

NANCY
Everything is curable. The doctor said everything would be fine.

BRIAN
If you need money, checkups...

NANCY (INTERRUPTS)
It's okay, honey.Don't worry, let's go.

Nancy smiles happily, snuggles up to Brian and they walk down the corridorof the clinic.

56. 113.EXT.FOREST GLADE - DAY.

In the forest, in a glade, Brian is digging a hole.He stands waist-deep in the pit digging it, then jumps out of the pit, dusts off his hands and takes a large bundle lying on the edge of the pit. These are the raincoat-wrapped attributes from the office.Brian throws a large bundle into the pit, the cloak opens, the attributes crumble at the bottom of the pit.Candles, a mirror, Tarot cards are visible, and a wolf's skull is lying on top.Brian stands thinking, looking at the things lying in the pit, then takes a shovel and begins to throw earth into the pit.
