Nose as a primarium of knowledge

No one would have challenged my title if I had added "for dogs and other animals". However, I am writing about the human nose. After all,  the human being was the one who came up with the word NOSE back when he himself was largely belonged to the animal world.
The human ceased to be an animal when he tamed fire and because of this have lost the keen sense of smell because of smoke and the smell of burning.
The original, initial, primordial meaning of words  for "nose" is "the primary source of knowledge". Facts of different languages
are confirming this.
In Russian there are NOS нос and NOVOST новость which sound similar.
It is the same in English where. nose is similar to both new  and news. News is something new, relevant, up-to-date, and therefore often  is the most important information.
It is strange that the English do not bring their words   new   and know   closer in meaning. Moreover, in the word know they no longer pronounce the initial k, but say NOU. “KN was reduced to "n-" in standard pronunciation”. And at the same time, their word   nose  completely coincides in sound with   knows  . And one more oddity. “Online etymology dictionary” does not bring the English know   closer to the Greek GNOSIS ;;;;;; “knowledge”. And this is despite the dominance of Grecomania in Western etymology.
I have developed this topic using the Arabic language facts as well. However, I will refrain from publishing it for now. Especially since the capabilities of “Proza.Ru” do not allow for the reproduction of Arabic letters.
