The letter to my son
There are no words to fully explain,
What a son means to a mother’s heart,
I wouldn’t change a single thing,
I’d live it all again from the start.
My Heavenly gift, thank you so,
For granting me the taste of Motherhood.
For nine months, our Hearts together beat,
In the unity of your womb’s retreat.
You were born of the greatest Love,
By the Lord’s Devine Permission,
A Heavenly gift, a fate from above,
And my solace in life’s transition.
It’s my duty to help you see,
To guide, to watch, to correct with care,
Open your heart, don’t be afraid,
Hold to Love and Learn to Share.
You’re sharp, my son, and impatient too,
Sometimes unjust, and unseeing the truth,
But know these flaws are mine to bear,
For a mother’s guidance was not always there.
I will never betray you, my dear,
I’ll give my life without a fear,
If you’ll allow, let me make amends,
Don’t let Hope falter, my Love transcends.
Be Healthy and Fortunate, my son,
May Destiny treat you kindly,
May your Heart bloom and grow,
As my Love for You stands firmly.
I’ll always help, wherever you are,
I’ll always support, no matter how far,
I’ll run to your aid, my dear son,
Alive or not, my Love goes on.
And no matter where I may reside,
Know your Mother will always pray,
Just call to me softly, “ Ma-aa,”
And I’ll find my way, come what may.
Am I prepared for Eternal Life?
Yes, prepared – with but one request,
That in my final moments, my son, you stay,
And upon my Heart, before Eternal Rest,
Your Hand tenderly lay…
