The Prophecy of Israel

Tora Continues: The Miracles of the Almighty in the History of Israel

We live in an era where the pages of the Torah are being written in real time. We only need to open our eyes to see the miracles.

The history of Israel is not merely a sequence of military conflicts, political decisions, and diplomatic maneuvers. It is the history of living miracles occurring before our very eyes. Many refuse to see them, just as Pharaoh once refused to see the hand of the Almighty, even when the waters of the Nile turned to blood, even when darkness covered Egypt, even when the sea parted before the people of Israel.

But can one truly ignore the obvious?

The Almighty made a covenant with Abraham and promised him, “To your descendants, I give this land—from the River of Egypt to the great river, the Euphrates” (Genesis 15:18). He did not specify when or how this would happen.

If not even a single leaf falls from a tree without the will of Heaven, then surely the restoration of Israel's borders is no coincidence.

Today, we are witnessing the fulfillment of His ancient promise:

Israel has strengthened the Golan Heights, securing itself against the Syrian threat.

After October 7, Israel defeated Hamas, putting an end to terrorism in Gaza.

The annexation of Judea and Samaria (the West Bank) has been announced, returning these lands to the Jewish people.

Israel no longer abandons its lands to its enemies.

This is not just geopolitics. It is the fulfillment of prophecy, confirming that we are living in the era of the restoration of ancient Israel to its biblical borders. During the reigns of King David and King Solomon, Israel was the most powerful empire of its time.

Now, we see history repeating itself.

Certain religious groups have entangled themselves in their own pilpul.

The Lubavitcher Hasidim, being part of the Haredi community, are not as vehemently opposed to the State of Israel as the Satmar or other ultra-Orthodox groups. However, their position generally states:

According to Halakha, the state of Israel should not have been established before the coming of the Messiah.

Yet, it already exists—so what now?

This is where a logical contradiction arises.

Many Lubavitcher Hasidim believe that the Rebbe is the Messiah. But if the Rebbe is the Messiah, then the return of the Jewish people to Eretz Yisrael is already part of redemption, part of the Geulah process. If the Messiah has already been in this world, then the liberation of the Land of Israel is proceeding according to the Almighty’s plan.

But those who believe that the Rebbe is the Messiah and simultaneously reject the legitimacy of the State of Israel because it is “not according to Halakha” have trapped themselves in their own reasoning. If the Messiah has already come, then everything is unfolding as it should. If Israel is expanding, then this is the will of Heaven.

Instead of acknowledging and thanking the Almighty for His miracles, they continue to cling to logical constructions that they themselves cannot fully explain.

But the truth is simple: The Almighty wanted Israel to be created through Jabotinsky, Herzl, and the Zionists. Therefore, it was meant to be.

There are religious Jews who still criticize Israel today, arguing that its creation contradicts Halakha and that a Jewish state should only arise with the coming of the Messiah.

But they have placed themselves in a moral and ideological dead end.

They are so blind that they lack the intellectual capacity to see the will of the Almighty in this. They cling to Halakha but fail to see that it is the Almighty who governs this world.

They do not comprehend how many miracles have occurred since the founding of Israel:

Victories in wars where Israel was outnumbered and outgunned.

The return of Jerusalem.

The revival of the Hebrew language, making it a living language once more.

The economic and technological boom that has positioned Israel at the center of the world.

They refuse to see the miracles of the Almighty.

But wasn’t this the same mistake Pharaoh made? When the Egyptians drowned in the sea, when the land suffered from the plagues, he still insisted, “It’s just a coincidence!”

These people are like Pharaoh, who, despite all the evidence, continued to deny reality.

Today, we see the same pattern. Israel continues to win, grow, and expand.

The War of Independence in 1948—against all odds, without an army, without weapons—and victory.

The Six-Day War in 1967—three fronts, complete encirclement—and victory.

The Yom Kippur War in 1973—caught off guard, yet victory again.

Today, surrounded by enemies, Israel still stands.

We are living in the Messianic era, and we are witnessing the fulfillment of biblical prophecies.

Even evangelical Christians recognize this. But we, as Jews, should be the first to see the miracles of the Almighty.

The Torah is still being written in our time.

Each new day of Israel is a new chapter of this story.

Each victory is a continuation of the miracle of the Exodus.

Each territorial expansion is the fulfillment of the Almighty’s promises.

Some say, “But Halakha states otherwise.” But who are we to dictate to the Almighty how history should unfold?

Not even a single leaf falls from a tree without the will of Heaven.

Those who refuse to see the will of the Almighty in this are making the same mistake as Pharaoh. They are closing their eyes to the obvious.

The Torah continues. The Torah is being written in our time. And our task is to be part of this story.
