Фауст Гете, часть II

/Продолжение/

Библия принимается и понимается человечеством как /"единственное"/ одухотворенное Богом писание, и эта печать святости указывает на Библию как на единственный источник божественного знания. Так ли это?

                " We must grasp things in the highest sense,
                And let what may come, come, with confidence. 5915
                You’ve shown the highest courage once before."

Неканоническое знание не имеет печати "святости"/человечество не принимает его таковым/, а значит не является источником божественного знания?

                " You call yourself a part, yet seem complete to me? 1345 "

Гете тонко намекает на то, что все знание мира имело божественное происхождение.

                " I’m part of the part, that once was - everything,
                Part of the darkness, from which Light, issuing, 1350 "

                " They make the Underworld, and the Upper,
                Happy in their agreement, fit together. 6140 "         

Гете старательно раскрывает божественное происхождение своего знания, когда просит Бога явить свою печать святости и для него,

                " I must just pass you my album, sir, 2045
                Grant me the favour of your signature! "

                " The Emperor’s word is great, his gift is sure,
                But to be enacted it needs his signature, 
                His noble mark. Here’s the right man I see
                True to his time, to complete the formality. 10930 "

для его Гете творения, наполненного божьим духом.

                " It all waits for your command: 5910
                Master, take and care for it: do.
                Every treasure in your hand,
                Helps the whole world too."

В то же время, выражая сомнение в том, что знание, которое и почитается как святое,

                " How hard it is to command the means
                By which a man attains the very source!
                Before a man has travelled half his course,   
                The wretched devil has to die it seems. 565   
                Parchment then, is that your holy well,566 "

                " There’s so much poison hidden in what you learn,
                And it’s barely distinguishable from the antidote.1987 "

на самом деле качественно отличается от их/Данте, Нострадамус Гете/ знания.

                " Only the true believers, the people, know,
                And nothing will shake their fond opinion,
                They, since their wisdom ripened long ago,
                Say it’s due to Satan’s wonderful dominion.10121" 

                " Just follow the ancient text, and my mother the snake, too:2049 "   

                " But think: the Devil’s a lot older, 6817
                So you need to be old to understand him! "

                Divine Comedy/Inferno
                Canto 25
                " From that time forth the serpents were my friends;"

Но вместе с тем, знающего и о том, что время откровения раскроет божью суть всего знания, ныне разделенного.

                " The room waits for its old master
                While Doctor Faustus is away,
                Untouched, still, as in his day. 6665
                And I scarcely dare to enter. "      

                " What use to bring them your complete intent? 102
                The Public will soon pick at what you’ve dressed.

Как бы в подтверждение всего этого, Гете начинает "Фауст" в той же манере, как и начало "Бытия" из Ветхого завета.

                Genesis 1:1
                " In the beginning,         (1)
                God created the heavens   (2)
                and the earth." ,         (3)

Три пункта вступления в "Фаусте": посвящение      (1),
                пролог на сцене (2),
                и небесах       (3), есть не что иное, как перефраз начала "Бытия".

Если Данте в своей "Божественной комедии", упоминает середину пути с которой он начинает свое повествование/как продолжение Библии/, оборванной на "Откровении" Иоанна,

                Divine Comedy/Inferno
                Canto 1
                " MIDWAY upon the journey of our life         
                I found myself within a forest dark,
                For the straightforward pathway had been lost." 

то и Гете обозначает "Фауст" как смысловое продолжение все той же Библии: "Love"- метафора Библии, а "Friendship"- это об Данте, Нострадамусе и Гете.

                " And like some other half-forgotten phrase,
                First Love returns, and Friendship too is nigh: 12 "

                " I bring my verses to the unknown throng, 21
                My heart’s made anxious even by their clapping,
                And those besides delighted by my verse,
                If they still live, are scattered through the Earth."

Более того, три персонажа в начале повествования/директор, драматург и комедиант/ есть не кто иные как: Нострадамус, Гете и Данте,

                " Its horrors known for ten thousand years.8117   
                The old man’s words seemed idle to the young, "

                " Well, at least one must admit 2463
                That they’re honest poets."

                " Only poets can work this miracle on men  57
                So various: the day is yours, my friend! " 

Гете постоянно твердит о том, что все трое/Данте, Нострадамус, Гете/ есть единое целое,

                " Isn’t this book, with secrets crammed,
                From Nostradamus’ very hand, 420 
                Enough to be my guide? "

                " So, I’ll have to employ a comical device. 5780
                I’ll shape the gold like moistened clay,"

                " Dame Ilse watches for us, from her tall stone, 7680
                And Heinrich’s still awake on his high throne, "

а сам Гете тот, кто завершает полноту божественного знания.

                " And whatever he lacks, I complete.  5579 "

                " The stage is set, the boards complete,
                And they await our festivity. 40 "

                " You two, who’ve often stood by me,
                In times of need, when trouble’s breaking,
                Say what success our undertaking 35
                Will meet with, then, in Germany? "
               
                " In our German lands, fear no evil, 5065 "

Гете константирует то, что свое произведение он пишет будучи во власти святого духа, так же как и те, кто писал Библию до него, соединяя "Фауст" и Евангелие от Иоанна. Гете убежден в неполноте понимания Библии/"It’s absurd"/ последователями Библии, которые развалили, целое/прежде/ божественное знание, на куски.
 
                " It’s written here: ‘In the Beginning was the Word!’         
                Here I stick already! Who can help me? It’s absurd, 1225
                Impossible, for me to rate the word so highly
                I must try to say it differently               
                If I’m truly inspired by the Spirit. I find
                I’ve written here: ‘In the Beginning was the Mind’.
                Let me consider that first sentence, 1230
                So my pen won’t run on in advance!
                Is it Mind that works and creates what’s ours?
                It should say: ‘In the beginning was the Power!’
                Yet even while I write the words down,
                I’m warned: I’m no closer with these I’ve found. 1235
                The Spirit helps me! I have it now, intact.               
                And firmly write: ‘In the Beginning was the Act!’  "      

                " From the dry old books, they knew
                They lied to me: what they knew,
                Not believing in it truly,
                Stealing life itself, from me. 6710"
