Our fatal weakness

Our weakness, which did not allow us to follow in the footsteps of Estonia and other European countries

The Kyrgyz government and people became hostages of corrupt clans that got rich on gold theft, customs duties, energy, land use, and speculation with Kyrgyzstan's interests in geopolitics.
Not a single president of Kyrgyzstan in all the years of our independence was able to not only lead the people out of this dependence, but even study, evaluate all these problems and indicate ways to solve them, draw up a road map, as they say today.
If our penultimate president, who is now called rather humiliatingly Soke (short form of full name Soorobay), but this is still much better than Toshok (Blanket), had brought order to customs, who would dare to call him today with such way and scold constantly for Matraimov?
But strict order should have been brought to Kumtor, and to the Energy Sector, and a road should have been built from China to Uzbekistan through our territory.
Although each of our presidents Akaev, Bakiev, Atambaev, and Jeenbekov did something good for our state, there was much more bad things, precisely because they hid our most important problems and did not even dare to put them before the people.
The people of Ukraine, like the peoples of the Baltic countries and Eastern Europe before them, unlike the leaders of the Central Asian republics, from the very beginning paid special attention to the most serious problems. All of them truly strove for democracy and fair governance, therefore referendums were held there and their parliaments adopted laws and regulations that made rollbacks to the past impossible, prohibited them from moving closer to the collaboration and unions with any dictatorship, which ensured their people freedom, independence and a course toward rapprochement with Europe and its core principles and values.
So even the elected presidents, with all their desire, could not turn away from this path.
We must also adopt laws that would provide the people of Kyrgyzstan with full control over customs, energy and other strategically important resources, and most importantly, control over geopolitics, so that another swindler, like Alyoshka Atambaev, does not drive the country into another enslaving alliance with an obviously authoritarian neighbor or even sell energy that has not yet been sold for one dollar, betraying the national interests of Kyrgyzstan and exposing its freedom and independence to enormous risk.
