Esoteric essay on Leo Tolstoy
Alice A. Bailey's The Destiny of Nations
Note Divine Energies emanating from the Source, or as they are called in esoteric literature--Rays:
Ray I. Will, or Power
Ray II. Love-Wisdom
Ray III. Active Intelligence or Adaptability
Ray IV. Harmony through conflict, Beauty, Art.
Ray V. Concrete Knowledge, or Science
Ray VI. Devotion, or Idealism
Ray VII. Ceremonial Order, or Magic
At the beginning of the 20th century, thanks to the centuries-long efforts of the Cosmic Hierarchy of Light, a New Group of World Servers (NGMS) was assembled and actively began to operate on Earth, consisting of men and women of good will, responding to the energies conducted by the Hierarchy of Light and Shambhala.
This event was the result of the preparatory work of the Disciples and Teachers of the Hierarchy of Light.
They, the predecessors of the NHMS, have been incarnating on the Earth for millennia and by their spiritual work laid the preconditions for the appearance of this group.
Often, acting alone and without the support of society, and sometimes withstanding aggression on its part, each of them made a significant contribution to the approaching time when the Divine Plan on Earth would be realized.
We do not know many names, as most of the messengers of the Hierarchy of Light lived and worked without publicizing themselves and their work.
Known predecessors of the NGMS: Origen, Lao Tzu, Avicenna, Francis of Assisi, Giordano Bruno, Mikhail Lomonosov, Nikola Tesla, Leo Tolstoy, H.P. Blavatsky, Nicholas and Elena Roerich, Mark and Claire E. Profit, etc.
“There are two tsars in Russia: One is Nicholas II, the other is L.N.Tolstoy.”
A saying in Russia at the turn of the 19th-20th centuries.
One of the predecessors who preceded the emergence of the New Group of World Servers (NGMS) is the Russian writer L.N.Tolstoy.
The role of Leo Tolstoy as a writer and thinker of that time is difficult to overestimate. His literary work, being the fruit of his own personal struggle with the soul, the search for spiritual truth and moral purity, revealed many facets of misconceptions and entrenchment of thought of the society of that time.
Tolstoy's uncompromising attitude towards himself, in his illumination of social and religious vices that permeated all strata of society in the Russian Empire, led to the rethinking of many people the meaning of life and their own destiny.
Realizing his own struggle to liberate his soul, he searched for a spiritual path not only for himself, but also for Russia, which had become entangled in religious dogmas and liberal illusions, which at the end of his life's journey sounded like “The Doctrine of Nonviolence and Nonviolent Resistance to Evil”.
This Doctrine expressed the semantic concepts of the 6th Ray (Devotion to Idealism) under which the personality of Russia develops, not as a fanatical adherence to church dogmas, but as a conscious conduction of the light of the World Soul.
His many articles on religious topics and digressions in novels (in the form of reflections), were aimed at cleansing Christianity, as the Doctrine of Divine Love, given by the Teacher of Light Jesus, from entrenching the consciousness of the people of religious dogmas, rituals (contrary to what Jesus taught) and money levies.
In such works as “My Faith”, “The Destruction of Hell and its Restoration”, in the novel “Resurrection”, etc., Leo Tolstoy shows how religion becomes a prison for consciousness, how it materializes, falling under the power of money, base instincts and dark forces, how it contradicts the living word of true Christianity, its original simplicity and spiritual purity, which proclaimed the word and demonstrated by his life Teacher Jesus.
Behind L.N.Tolstoy, behind his thought, behind the doctrine of non-violence, the society followed.
It is worth noting the contribution of Leo Tolstoy in changing the consciousness of all mankind in relation to such a phenomenon as war.
For example, before him in literature, no one had emphasized the problems that give rise to war, the consequences of war in the form of the collapse of human destinies and moral foundations of the people, which are the people-forming spiritual staples, without which the community of people can not be as a people.
The novel “War and Peace” (the word “Peace”-- meant not as peace between the warring parties, but as Society, the People, including all layers from the Tsar to the common man), turned the thought of creative people from the proclamation of war, as an action heroic-adventure, to the drama and tragedy, in which all witnesses of the events are immersed.
It was after this novel that world literary thought began to explore the causes that give rise to war and proclaim non-violent solutions to conflicts, and the value of human life was placed above the ambitions of kings and emperors.
The life and spiritual work of Leo Tolstoy contributed to the transfer of people's consciousness from the Ray of Personality of Russia (Ray VI. Ray of Devotion to Idealism) to the Ray of Soul (Ray VII. Ceremonial Order or Magic).
