Why I Wrote the Bio of Reinhard Heydrich
My training and experience in knowledge management allows me to write quality books on just about any topic in history, so I put together a list of 100 books that I intend to write.
I chose “Wannsee Conference in 100 facts” as a pilot project primarily I am very well familiar with subject matter (history of the Third Reich and the Holocaust are my key competencies as a historian).
After I completed that book (just a few days before I started working on this one), the bio of Reinhard Heydrich was the natural choice in my “mini-series” on the Holocaust as Wannsee Conference was his brainchild – and Heydrich was the CEO of the “Holocaust Project” (i.e., of its unofficial Special Project Vehicle).
And, finally, every writer (of fiction and non-fiction) always writes the book that he/she wants to read but can not find – and I am no exception. I was always interested in the enigma of Heydrich (evil genius par excellence) and always wanted to find the book that would provide all knowledge that I needed… but could not find any. So, I wrote it.
I intend to make this book the best bio of Reinhard Heydrich in existence (otherwise, why write it at all?). Why would it be the best? Because it (1) presents the comprehensive narrative of Heydrich’s life; (2) provides his comprehensive profile as a serial mass murderer; and (3) is written in an easy-to-read “blog format”.
I also fully intend to do a documentary movie on Reinhard Heydrich and the Holocaust using this book as its foundation. This book is based mostly on my own research on Wannsee Conference and the Holocaust that I conducted for my fiction books written in my native language.
