The Bee A Portrait of the Artist

The Bee — A Portrait of the Artist and the Image of Higher Intelligence

From Gertrude Stein and Picasso to a manifesto on peace, ecology, and humanity’s future
I recently painted an image: a bee at the center, surrounded by flowers. I called it Portrait of an Artist.
My inspiration came not only from bees themselves, but also from Gertrude Stein’s writings on Picasso. In one of her reflections, she says: “It is very hard to describe a person.”Perhaps that’s why Picasso painted her portrait so unconventionally — almost sculptural, stripped of traditional beauty. Shortly after, he created Les Demoiselles d’Avignon, and each of those women seemed to carry something of Gertrude’s face. He had left behind classical aesthetics. He was searching for a new human being.
I realized: my bee is also a new kind of portrait. The artist, like the bee, flies from theme to theme, from color to color. She pollinates the world with her attention. She brings nuance, depth, beauty, and life.
But the more I learned about bees, the clearer it became:the bee is not just an artist. The bee is a symbol of higher intelligence.
Bees have lived on Earth for over 100 million years. They do not destroy. They do not kill. They do not build weapons. They do not wage wars. They don’t crave power.
They gather, build, care.;They live in harmony with nature.
Now look at those who govern our world. Our “leaders” are stupid, greedy, and dangerous. They exploit the Earth’s resources for profit, domination, and war. They poison the air, cut down the forests, contaminate water, destroy lives — and call this “progress.”Why does humanity follow them?
If the world followed the principle of the bee, Earth would already be paradise.Bees do not drop bombs. They do not lie. They do not divide. They do not hate.
They cooperate. They pollinate. They sustain life.
And the bee flies — at speeds up to 65 km/h.This small creature covers vast distances.Isn’t that a sign? A message from a higher intelligence?
The bee says to us:fly.create.explore.live in peace.
If bees were our leaders, we would already be exploring other planets. We would be growing through intelligence, labor, and care —not through destruction, manipulation, and greed.
But while madmen govern us, humanity is stuck — harming itself and all life.
The bee is not just an artist. The bee is a model of how to live with reason. She teaches us:— to respect the Earth,— to reach for the sky,— and to refuse to serve evil.
