The World of Cryptids
However, every cryptid has a reason to exist (raison d’;tre) – and this reason is to deliver an important message to us humans. This is true even for hoaxes: their message is simple: cryptids can be (and some are) hoaxes.
But there is more - much more – to my comprehensive theory of cryptids (any theory that is not comprehensive is obviously efficient and inadequate). I am firmly convinced that “no cryptid is an island”; in other words, cryptids are not isolated entities – whether they do or do not exist in flesh and blood.
Each cryptid is an important component of the Cryptid World (or Universe of Cryptids), created and managed by God, gods, Mother Nature, Cosmos… whatever Supreme Force (or Supreme being) you are comfortable with. I would not use the word “kingdom” because I am not sure that there is a “king” or a “queen” of cryptids (I am sure there isn’t).
One of the key advantages of this book – that make it the best book on cryptids by far – is that it is a book not about individual cryptids (although I cover a lot of them). It is The Definitive Guide to the Cryptid World – and, to my knowledge, there is no such book in existence. Not even close.
The World of Cryptids as a whole also has a message for us – a very important one:
There is a whole world of cryptids out there: of yet undiscovered animals, apparitions and ultraterrestrials. There is an invisible, intangible, spiritual world populated by entities who create apparitions in our world and manifest them to carefully selected individuals – to send us important messages.
We live not in just one Universe – but in Multiverse. There are many, many other universes out there. These universes are populated by entities who create apparitions in our world and manifest them to carefully selected individuals – to send us important messages.
It does not get more fundamental than that.
As for cryptozoology (and cryptozoologists), I have a dim view of both – and will prove that it is correct (beyond the reasonable doubt). Alas, with the exception of very few, cryptozoologists are either hopelessly deluded (and are guided by their delusions, not by the desire to find the truth) … or are doing it for money and fame – not to find and disseminate the truth. Hence, they are driven by two deadly sins (deadly to the truth that is): pride and greed.
I am not (I am getting both by writing and publishing fiction and non-fiction books on very different topics). As I already said earlier, I am not interested in cryptids or cryptozoology per se – so I have no desire to be recognized as the #1 expert on both in the world (although I probably will be).
For me this book is – first and foremost – the “AI Illustrator” project (I found cryptids to be the best subject for such project by far). Plus, it would be nice to do something I wanted to do when I was five… and get some emotional self-help.
