All our troubles stem from a love for dear lieders
The Kyrgyz people are close to completely and forever losing their love and trust in their leaders. And that's a very good thing!
No matter who becomes president, no matter how wonderful they are, no matter how many hardships and misfortunes they've endured in life, even if they're an angel themselves — once in power, they quickly turn into a corrupt official, a thief, and a scoundrel.
Therefore, the best policy for us is for both presidents and members of parliament to be elected for only one, or at most two, terms.
I'd like to believe this, and that ultimately, Sadyr Japarov and Kamchibek Tashiev will remain in the people's memory as the last great love of the Kyrgyz people, while Akayev (or Masaliev) will remain as their first love.
In short, go to hell such loves!
To ensure that the people have no illusions about power whatsoever, just imagine what would have happened to our country if Akayev, Bakiyev, or Atambayev had ruled twice as long or even become presidents for life?
And imagine what would have awaited our country if instead of them our losers Felix Kulov, Kamchibek Zholdoshbayev, Nurlan Motuyev, or Tursunbek Akun had come to power in Kyrgyzstan? Where would these comrades have led us today?
While I'm sure that leaders like Bolot Temirov, Kamilla Sharshekeeva, Rysgul Akimzhanova, Emil Umet, Manasbek Sultanov, Rita Karasartova, and others would have made good presidents, who can guarantee they will definitely bring the country to the level of Singapore, or even better, Norway?
I don't trust myself either; if I became president, it would be very difficult to give up unlimited powers. After all, Stalin was a democrat too, even when he wasn't the most important person in the Kremlin. And you see what a damn things happened from such a love for the world!
But in any case, the people must have a choice.
Therefore, the best thing is to hold elections so that both presidents and members of parliament can only be elected for one, or at most two, terms. And so that the queue of people wanting to run for president and members of parliament moves fairly briskly.
In Switzerland, things are much stricter.
The president (acting) is appointed for only one year, and members of parliament can only be elected for one term – five years. That, I understand, is the most advanced and free nation – and the richest and most secure in the world!
