Marriage or Dating??

  As a Feng-Shui practitioner and consultant, one of the most frequent issues that gets brought up is the issue of "dating or marriage".

  In Taoist philosophy there is no "one size fits all", as it embraces nature in all its variety & bounty, the same it is with every individual human being - so the answer would be "it depends".

  To delve deeper into the "what's better, what to choose, what to stick with" subject, here is a little practical example: a small metal paperclip will burn down  if exposed to a huge well-fired up steel melting pot, but a big chunk of iron will just restructure and change its shape,  transforming into a new, evolved form.

 The huge fire in this example is the dating scene for the person whose main Chi, or lifeforce is that of the element of metal. So according to the Taoist philosophy, a person whose Chi, or lifeforce is that of a delicate small bit of metal  having the bulk and the strength of a fine fragile filigree jewelry piece should never throw themselves into the furnace of the romance & dating scene, as that would reflect very negatively on every aspect of their wellbeing, especially their health, but rather ask others to help them find a good spouse.

In general, whenever our personal Chi (be that Fire, Water, Wood, Soil or Metal) is that more of a fine, gentle, whimsical, quiet nature - no matter how toughly well we cope with everything else in this wild world, we should avoid non-marital relationships at any cost and seek instead the harbour of the cosy family life with our caring official spouses.

  The personal Chi element can be found in one's Bazi chart. ;
