I Owe No One
And no one owes me.
It seems so simple,
But oh, how complicated it is…
We buy and sell our debts,
Multiplying our own sorrow:
And where do we go now?
Nowhere awaits us…
We draw our maps
Of uncharted Galaxies,
New Oceans and Seas —
All yearning for her.
When did we lose
Our Faith and Love?
It turns out they were given to us,
Only briefly — also on credit…
From dawn till dusk
We pay off our debts,
Remembering how once
We lived in happiness and love:
And why did we borrow?
We lacked love,
And now the time has come
To atone for our sins.
Long is our road,
And no end in sight,
There’s never enough money,
But the soul — it’s only one.
And trying to outrun each other,
We keep running in a closed circle,
Changing everyone and everything on the go,
Gradually forgetting about Love…
