The Jewel of our Sun

O golden orb, whose radiant face doth rise,
To gild the earth with fire and molten grace,
You paint the dawn and set the evening skies,
A molten jewel hung in time’s embrace.

Your molten heart, a forge of light untamed,
Where embers dance and constellations spin,
Yet gentle still, though fiercely you are famed,
You warm the seed and bid the spring begin.

No kingly crown could rival such a sight,
No gem could match the splendor you bestow,
You weave the day and sculpt the cloak of night,
A sovereign flame whose reign no shadows know.

So shine, bright Sun, till time itself is done,
The Jewel of life — our Universe’s Sun!..
