The History of Christianity. Conclusion
The Biblical History of Christianity. Conclusion
This article concludes the BIBLICAL history of the emergence of Christianity among the PEOPLE of Israel. This should not be confused with the emergence of the STATE of Israel, which occurred after the end of World War II by UN decree.
So, I continue: Jesus Navin
Jesus (Yeh-hoshua, meaning Jehovah the Savior) is a prototype of Jesus Christ, the "Captain of our salvation" (Hebrews 2:10-12). This can be seen in the context of the people's reception of the Land of Canaan (Heavenly) after their exodus from the desert and the circumcision performed by Joshua, necessary for their reception of the Land of Canaan. All of this resembled the spiritual purification of the people, necessary for their reception of the Land of Canaan. All this resembles the beginning of the ministry of Jesus Christ in Israel, who, with His First Coming, hoped to establish the Kingdom of Heaven on earth, but first to purify the people through their repentance.
Ruth
This book can be seen as a foreshadowing of the Church (Ruth), as the tender bride of Christ. Here is what Lopukhin's commentary says: "Ruth was a Moabite by birth; but, having renounced her kinship and paternal superstition, she converted to true worship and moved to Bethlehem of Judea; there she married Boaz, of the tribe of Judah. From her, David's lineage is thus derived: Boaz begot Obed from Ruth, Obed begot Jesse, and Jesse begot David." This historical feature of the book, its connection with the genealogy of David, was the reason for including the Book of Ruth in the Old Testament canon; and since David was the forefather of Jesus Christ, and David's genealogy is a necessary part of the Savior's genealogy, the importance of the Book of Ruth from a New Testament perspective, from the historical foundations of Christianity, is obvious.
Prophet Malachi http://proza.ru/2025/05/30/169
The last book of the Old Testament explains to us the reason for the First Coming of the Son of God to man. This article is about the transitional period (approximately 400 years) between the Old and New Testaments, written by the last Prophet of the Old Testament, Malachi. This period is interesting because it reveals the decline of Israel's spiritual state to such a level. To the extent that God was forced to place a curse on Israel (chapter 3 of the book) and send His Son to save not only the Jews, but also the rest of the nations (Gentiles) on earth.
There is a clear distinction in the Bible's depiction of the life of the people of Israel in the two periods of the Old and New Testaments. Although they are inextricably linked, they are separated by the First Coming of the Son of God—the Messiah—and His ministry to people, "when the fullness of the time had come" (Galatians 4:4). The reason for this is well explained by the last prophet of the Old Testament, Malachi.
The prophecy of Malachi ends the Old Testament: God places a curse on the people of Israel, but still waits for the Jews to come to their senses. After Malachi's prophecy, a period of divine silence began, which lasted for about 400 years, until a new period in the history of Israel and all people on earth—the First Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. God LONG He waited for Israel to repent, but they did not repent, and God's last resort was to come to the people of Israel and to the people of the whole earth PERSONALLY for their salvation. Therefore, it can be considered that with His First Coming, the Son of God, God Christ, lifted His curse on Israel so that He could serve them on earth, and also serve other nations out of His love for the people of the whole earth.
Christ performed a similar act of nobility and love for people when washing the feet of His disciples: "Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into His hands, and that He had come from God and was going to God, rose from supper, laid aside His outer garment, took a towel, and girded Himself. Then he poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples' feet and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded" (John 13).
These two actions speak to people of the great love of God Christ for people, reaching its highest meaning on Golgotha. "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life" (John 3:16).
About other prophets
Worthy of mention are also the numerous details from the life of the Messiah foretold by the prophets, for example: the slaughter of the innocents near Bethlehem (Jer. 31:15); Christ's preaching in Galilee (Is. 9:1); the entry into Jerusalem on a donkey (Zech. 9:9, Gen. 49:11); the betrayal of Judas (Psalm 41:10, Psalm 41:11). 54:14, Psalm 109:5); about the thirty pieces of silver and the purchase of the potter's village (Zechariah 11:12); about the mockery and spitting (Isaiah 50:4-11), details of the crucifixion (Psalm 22); about the Messiah being counted among the wicked and buried with the rich (Isaiah 53); about the darkness during the Messiah's crucifixion (Amos 8:9, Zechariah 14:5-9); about the repentance of the people (Zechariah 12:10-13).
The Jews wrote the Old Testament, and the Jews also contributed to this, but only during the first period of their existence. Christ spoke of this to the Samaritan woman: "You worship what you do not know, but we worship what we know, for salvation is from the Jews. But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father seeks such to worship Him." (John 4:22-23) The early Jews also contributed greatly to the ministry and publication of the Holy Scriptures.
The second period of the Jews differs sharply from the first. At the First Coming of Christ, they rejected His teachings and instructions to the people and became His enemy. Therefore, Christ said to them: "Why do you not understand My speech? Because you cannot hear My word." "You are of your father the devil" /John 8:43,44/. Gennady: As we know and see, Israel is at war, and this will continue until they acknowledge Christ as their God.
In conclusion of these three articles, it must be acknowledged that the Old Testament contains accounts of the CHRISTIAN lives of many prominent Jews. They defined the life of the people of Israel at that time, the Christian life. Thus, Christianity is the REASON for the formation of the PEOPLE of Israel. The State of Israel emerged only after the end of World War II, by decision of the UN.
On the upcoming conversion of the Jewish people to Christ.
As we have already written, the majority of Jews at the time of Christ did not recognize Him as the Messiah promised by God and rejected Him. They desired a powerful conquering king in the Messiah who would bring glory and wealth to the Jewish people. Christ, however, preached meekness and love for enemies. However, the holy Apostle Paul clearly predicted that in the last times there would be amass conversion of Jews to Christ. Prediction Apostle Paul's words on the conversion of the Jewishmass conversion of Jews to Christ. Prediction Apostle Paul's words on the conversion of the Jewish people to faith are contained in chapters 10 and 11 of his Epistle to the Romans.
"I do not want you, brethren, to be ignorant of this mystery, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in (to the Church). And so all Israel (in the end times) will be saved. As it is written: 'The Deliverer will come out of Zion and will turn away ungodliness from Jacob.'"
From the internet: "Over the past 30-40 years, signs have emerged of a beginning revival of faith in Christ among Jews. In a number of large cities in the United States, Jewish Christian missionary centers have sprung up, preaching faith in the Lord Jesus Christ among their brothers in blood.
So, we can conclude these articles with Bible verses: 2 Chronicles 15:2 says, "Then Azariah the son of Obed met him and said to him, 'Listen to me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin! The LORD is with you if you continue with Him; and if you seek Him, He will be found of you; but if you forsake Him, He will forsake you.'"
