PART 2. ANOTHER REALITY
Day No. 8
CHAPTER 8.1. PALMISTRY
As usual, I was woken up before my alarm clock. We had only three days left there, in the fairy-tale. RAM would no longer go to the mountains with us, we were supposed to go there on our own, each one apart, wherever we wanted. That day I went to the Book of Knowledge. The last two days (or rather, nights smoothly turning into mornings) I had to climb the Dragon’s Head mountain.
Everything was the same as always: the night, the hopeless darkness to which I had become accustomed, and the amazingly clean air. A couple of hours on foot, and I reached the Book of Knowledge. I took off my glasses, put them next to me on the Book and, taking a horizontal position, waited for the sunrise. I knew somehow that the Book would be always open to me, and it made me feel calm and at ease.
After a while, Larisa came there, too. She silently bypassed me, there everyone was on his own and shouldn’t disturb others. Larisa sat on a mountain below the level of the Book and stretched out her hands towards the rising Sun.
When the Sun rose, I went to the Labyrinth and met both Svetlana and Sasha. Svetlana was about to enter the magical corridor as Sasha stopped her.
“Where are you going? What about the key?”
He gave her a virtual key to the virtual doors. Svetlana virtually opened them and returned the key to Sasha.
We took turns walking through the Labyrinth in silence.
“Daphne, will you close it?”
“No, you’d better. It’s hard for me, Sasha, to close such Doors, then I get all sorts of draughts, cold…”
The whole procedure with a virtual key for virtual Doors was like a kind kid’s game. We, seminarians, were like children who, on the one hand, understood that it was a fairy-tale, and, on the other hand, kept believing that it was the true Reality.
Sasha closed the Labyrinth with the key, and we slowly headed back.
“Alice!” Svetlana suddenly cried out so that I involuntarily shuddered. “I remembered what you had forgotten to tell me more about!”
“Svetlana, why shouting like that?! Two sylphs, flying by, grabbed right by the heart and almost threw their wings off… So what hasn’t Daphne told us yet?”
“Yesterday she was talking about all sorts of mancies…”
“What’s that?”
“Well, I mean, fortune-telling. But about palmistry, or chiromancy, you didn’t say a word. Alice, why did you bypass it? It must have been offended!”
“Svetlana, what is the sense to tell fortune by the hand, if you can take this hand in your own and immediately see everything clearly without even looking at it?”
“Some people can see without looking, but the rest ones need to know about the lines in order to learn reading them at least!”
“Daphne, come on, what about the lines! And preferably, with their business aspects. Just for the beginners, a few words about this chiromancy, please!”
“Chiromancy, or palmistry, from the Greek prophecy by the hand, is one of the oldest types of fortune-telling. It can be said that no one knows exactly where and when it was born. In ancient times, everyone knew this science, it was written about in the Vedic texts of India, and in China 3,000 years BC they practiced it in full, and in ancient Egypt, and in Babylon, and in Chaldea, of course, too. Then its influence spread to the West. In ancient Greece, Hippocrates, who was engaged in medicine, officially recognized palmistry, and Aristotle gave Alexander the Great a whole treatise on divination by hand, written in gold. In ancient Rome, palmistry was used in parliamentary procedures and was part of the official religion. Paracelsus dealt with it seriously and systematized the information available about it. In Germany, many universities taught palmistry as a separate subject. One of the most famous books on the topic was written by a Frenchman and was called ‘Secrets of the Hand’, the author tried to combine palmistry with knowledge of Kabbalah. In England, palmistry was outlawed as a form of witchcraft. Although later the palmist, who was born in England, became famous after he predicted the tragic death of Nicholas II and his family, as well as of many other famous personalities, such as the sorcerer Grigory Rasputin, writers Mark Twain and Oscar Wilde.”
“Do they teach hand reading somewhere now, Alice?”
“On every corner, read the adverts. There are also official universities, for example, in India. And even in Canada, there is the National Academy of Palmistry.”
“Svetlana, do you want to get another higher education?”
“Sasha, it’s not funny. Alice, palmistry, what can it tell us about?”
“About many things. Character traits, temperament, what a person was originally given from Above, that is, potential, and the ways a person realizes it. In fact, who he is compared to what he was given. A palmist can show ways of personal development, including favorable professions, determine life stages and the optimal time for action in various areas, including business, look and talk about love and marriage, analyze the past, warn against possible mistakes and failures, up to diseases, and predict the future.”
“They predicted your future by the hand, didn’t they, Daphne?”
“In India, a palmist-astrologer…”
“Why an astrologer?”
“Palmistry is close to astrology. The same 7 planets: the Sun, the Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn govern the patterns and zones of our palms.”
“Was there something about the monastery?”
“Sasha, don’t distract Alice, let her tell us about our future!”
“The future is multivariate, Svetlana!”
“Alice, are you kidding again? Is it impossible to say anything about the future by the palm lines?”
“It’s possible. You can say what you see on the palm at the present moment. If a person doesn’t change anything in himself, it will happen. By changing something in your life, a person thereby changes the future, since the lines change as well. However, they are always changing. Try to change something in yourself and compare your palms before and after, and you’ll see, I am right. Therefore, predicting the future is a relative thing.”
“Listen, did something change on your palm, Daphne?”
“Sasha, let Alice first tell us about the lines, and then give examples!”
“First they look at the external shape of the palm, then at the fingers, at the hills, lines and individual signs. The information should be considered as a whole.”
“What’s about the shape?”
“The shape is the key to understanding personality. The palm is our second face. Its external form in China has five types, since the classification is based on the correspondence of the form to the five elements. In European palmistry, there are seven types corresponding to different strata of society, they speak of one’s belonging to this or that hierarchy. For example, there are the palms of philosophers, creative people, workers, and so on.”
“That’s not very interesting, Alice. Let’s get closer to the lines!”
“After analyzing the shape, the fingers are considered – their size, length, features of location in relation to each other. The fingers have the names of the planets: the big one is Venus, which is responsible for love in general and love to life, optimism, the index finger is Jupiter.”
“Money, Daphne, I remember!”
“Money, power, happiness, fame. Next comes Saturn, it’s fate, destiny. The ring finger is the Sun, success and talents. The little finger is Mercury, responsible for communication, practical activities and trade. The thumb, as a rule, carries more information than all the others combined. At the base of the fingers, there are their planetary hills, which the Chinese call stars.”
“Which palm should we look at, the left or the right, Alice?”
“Both, Svetlana. First you need to know which hand is active and which is passive. For right-handed people, the left hand means given at birth from There, as well as our inner state, everything that we don’t demonstrate in society. And the right, active one, means here and now, and what we show outside. Therefore, both palms are looked at and compared.”
Both Sasha and Svetlana simultaneously looked at their palms, first at the left one, then at the right one.
“Daphne, what about the mountains?”
“The hills, Sasha. An underdeveloped hill tells us that the qualities of the responsible planet are lacking. Vice versa, convex hills speak of the development of these qualities, up to their excessive manifestation. If one of the hills prevails over the others, the properties inherent in it underlie the character. In general, according to the hills, that is, to the degree of their convexity, retraction and displacement, as well as the signs on them, they determine not only one’s character and temperament, but also success or failure in life spheres. The Chinese believe that a clearly-defined star or hill is a good luck in its sphere.”
“Alice, let’s get started already!”
“Well, under the first or thumb, there is the HILL OF VENUS, or the Golden Star. The hill is responsible for one’s expression of love, both earthly and divine, spiritual, as well as for a tendency to creativity. Venus in Greece, called Aphrodite, was the goddess of Love, then she became a symbol of creation. The larger Venus is at the top of the hill, the stronger divine love prevails over earthly love, which speaks of humanism, sacrifice, goodwill, love for neighbors and for the whole world. If the lower part of the Hill of Venus is overdeveloped, it speaks of the predominance of animal instincts and sensual passions. If both parts are equally developed, it means the absolute harmony between the Heavenly and the Earthly.”
“Daphne, give me your palm. Wow, what a loving person you are!”
“Sasha, stop interrupting Alice!”
“A well-developed Venus Hill indicates that a person wants to please everyone, impress the opposite sex, since there is a strong need for love. The lines on the Hill are a sign of passion. The more lines, the deeper and stronger they are drawn, the more passionate the person is. Any signs in this area are somehow connected with the love circumstances of life. The transverse lines speak of obstacles. The longitudinal ones mean happy love. A cross in the middle of the Hill shows us a monogamous person, able to love only once.”
“Daphne, I’ve seen, you have all Venus in lines up and down, I hope you don’t have a cross there?”
“I don’t, Sasha. Well-developed Venus also indicates potential sanguine, but we need to analyze the signs on the Hill. For example, if there is a triangle there, the person is balanced and, perhaps, prudent in love affairs. An island or a circle means troubles due to cupid. A circle formed by many dots is promiscuity.”
“I don’t have dots, what about you, Alice?”
“Svetlana, where does Alice get dots from? It’s so clear, you don’t even have to look at her palm… Daphne, go on!”
“An interesting case, if someone wears a ring on the thumb. It’s rare, but happens. Any person subconsciously, no matter which finger they put the ring on, tries to enhance certain qualities. In this case, individuality, logical thinking and energy are enhanced, but the will is often weakened. That is, such people behave differently than others, emphasizing this in every possible way, which means their inability to work in a group. The fountain of their ideas can lead to the fact that there will be no strength to implement them fully.”
“I understand, Daphne, if some Venus comes to me to get a job with a ring on her thumb, I won’t hire her. Now let’s talk about the neighbor, Jupiter, it’s closer to me personally.”
“The HILL of JUPITER, at the base of the index finger, is also the Star of the Tree and speaks of independence, leadership qualities, ambition, the ability to earn a lot of money and be happy. Jupiter’s temperament is usually a mixture of sanguine and choleric.”
“Jupiter stays in a cheerful mood!”
“Yes, he has a sense of humor. But be careful: a too developed Hill can indicate those for whom there is nothing more important in life than money, as well as gluttons, drunkards and gambling people who love all kinds of earthly entertainment. An ordinary Jupiter’s Hill without negative signs portends a joyful, happy life. If the Hill is not manifested at all, the person is selfish, cold, cynical, prone to laziness, but this is rarely seen on the palms.”
“Alice, I’ve got a line here!”
“A straight, unbranched line on Jupiter is a sign of success as well as a trident, success in ambitious aspirations. A triangle on Jupiter with an even and long Line of Mind is a sign of success in public and state activities. A square and, according to some sources, a cross portend a happy marriage. Stars are very good, too. It’s bad if the star is located on the tip of the finger – the threat of death due to exorbitant pride. A grid on the Hill of Jupiter speaks of exorbitant pride, too.”
“Wait, Alice, what does a star look like?”
“Like the Russian letter ‘Zh’, there must be an intersection of at least three lines. And the grid is a cross in a square, from which the tails of the cross can stick out. There is also a secret rare sign, the ring of Solomon, found among true sages. It’s a line encircling Jupiter in the area where people wear ordinary rings.”
“Alice, well, it doesn’t threaten me personally. What do the usual rings on the index finger mean?”
“The index finger indicates or orders, expresses one’s will, speaks of the independence and authority of a person. Accordingly, the ring increases self-esteem, makes a person proud, selfish, especially if the ring is worn constantly. Thirst for management, leadership, such people are able to make decisions and take responsibility. Many of them consider personal fame, success, money and power to be more important than anything else.”
“Daphne, you’ll dictate me about the rings later, so that hiring people I can take this info into account. Next is the Hill of Who?”
“SATURN, the hardest planet, I would say. The Chinese call it the Star of the Earth. The temperament is a mixture of phlegmatic and melancholic. The more pronounced Saturn, the more pessimism. Responsible for discipline, morality, purposefulness, self-knowledge, a tendency to loneliness and everything mystical. Moreover, Saturn the planet has rings, it’s isolating itself from the others. If the Hill is smooth, one’s life will be without much happiness and unhappiness, such an even one. A well-developed Saturn means wisdom, caution in actions, wit. Such people are brave and independent, prefer loneliness, rarely marry, but if they find the other half, they are faithful until the end of time. An excessively manifested Hill speaks of sadness, isolation, even asceticism and a tendency to suicide. Concavity of the Hill means an unhappy life devoid of joys.”
“Alice, look here, I’ve got another sign on Saturn!”
“Daphne, let’s talk about all the signs on Saturn at once.”
“A triangle means a tendency to hypnotism, the occult, Magic, psychic abilities. A straight line on the Saturn’s Hill is great happiness, and many lines mean unhappiness. A series of dots means strong egocentrism and a frequent depressive state. Any star here is negative, it’s a sign of fatality, doom, often a tragic death. The star on the tip of this finger is also a threat of death by a fatal coincidence. A cross means the danger of violent death. There can be also the Ring of Saturn, it goes in a semicircle, threatens with disappointments, brings its owner a desire for seclusion from this world.”
“Daphne, did Saturn really give you such a ring?”
“Two planets gave me their rings, Sasha.”
“Alice and Sasha, let’s show each other our rings later, okay? You’d better tell us about the real ones! What do they mean on the middle finger?”
“A person becomes more restrained, balanced, calm, there is a smoothing of pronounced character traits. It’s the best option for the location of the rings, it has no negative meaning. But the ring worn there for a long time increases isolation and the desire for hermitage.”
“Okay, everything is clear with Saturn and its rings, who is next there?”
“The Star of the Sun, or HILL of the SUN, or Apollo, at the ring finger. The temperament is more sanguine than choleric. It characterizes the creative sphere of life, one’s inclination to arts, literature, endows with artistry, is responsible for scientific work, intelligence and an optimistic outlook on life. It can also say whether a person will be recognized, have success. If the Hill is not expressed at all, the person is purely material, prosaic, doesn’t at all strive for self-expression in the field of creativity, doesn’t show interest in arts even as an outside observer or spectator. It can also speak of modesty, one’s invisibility in the crowd.”
“No, prosaic people don’t fit into our company! Let there always be the Sun!”
“An excessively convex Hill of the Sun provides a person with public attention, often gives out a thirst for fame and boasting. A moderately developed Hill means aesthetic taste, love of external brilliance and the opportunity to have material well-being. A smooth Hill means a kind-hearted person with a calm mind, joy in life, but without much brilliance and glory. A straight line on the Sun is talent and fame, a cross is an unsuccessful attempt to achieve fame, as well as any two lines intersecting there mean the presence of a talent not crowned with external success. Triangles are great abilities in creativity and science. A very good sign is the trident, since such person will achieve exceptional influence on society. Dots on the Sun means a tendency to recklessness due to vanity. The star on the tip of the ring finger means a threat of death due to the Fire element.”
“Does the Ring of the Sun exist there?”
“Yes, they say, it means the absence of creative self-expression, as if the creative sphere is blocked. It’s interesting, the finger of the Sun is called the ring finger, and most people do wear rings on it. Apparently, they enhance the feeling of happiness, lacked by many in life. Subconsciously, we all want to be recognized and respected by others. A ring there promotes creative self-expression, increases creativity.”
“Hooray, Daphne, we have reached the last Hill!”
“No, Sasha, you are mistaken, just to the little finger of Mercury, but there are two more Hills, because in total we have seven planets there.”
“Alice and Sasha, we’ll soon reach the hotel, and we have two more Hills ahead, in addition to Mercury!”
“So, the HILL of MERCURY speaks of one’s ability to get material prosperity, commercial and communication skills. The temperament is either phlegmatic with melancholic, or choleric with melancholic. A pronounced Hill gives out prudence, excellent business skills, the talent of a born speaker, wit. A person can become a good politician, journalist, businessman, public relations manager.”
“These are the ones to be hired!”
“Yes, Sasha, but be careful, the excessive manifestation of the Hill, a lot of lines, the sign of the grid or the cross there, mean theft, fraud, lies, impudence.”
“A kind of Ostap Bender!”
“Looks like, yes. A star on the Mercury Hill warns of possible bankruptcy. One or two lines on the Hill shows us a person who probably will drastically change his destiny. The ring of Mercury speaks of a strong sense of responsibility for one’s family.”
“What about regular rings?”
“They can improve skills in commerce, one’s sociability increases. Although sometimes psychic abilities are enhanced. By the way, Wolf Messing wore a ring on his little finger.”
“Alice, but many people wear several rings at once on different fingers, don’t they?”
“Or several at once on the only one. The rings indicate what a person lacks and in what quantity. Rings on the passive hand mean that there is not enough inside, in the inner world, and on the active hand – the same in the external manifestation.”
“Okay, I’ll have to remember at my leisure who of my friends wears rings on which fingers. Now let’s talk about the last two Hills.”
“The HILL of MARS, the Star of Fire. There are actually two Hills of Mars. The first is next to Venus and Jupiter. It shows whether a person is aggressive or, on the contrary, never loses his mind. The second Hill is between Mercury and the Moon, means courage and the ability to stand up for oneself and loved ones, shows whether a man, for example, is a reliable defender. Mars has a choleric temperament. Many lines mean a tendency to outbursts of anger and ardor, and a smooth manifested Hill, on the contrary, is a sign of self-control and cold blood, such people are courageous, hardy and have a strong character.”
“So, Daphne, it turns out that if there is no strong Mars, a person is a coward, and in case of an excessive manifestation is a cruel, bloodthirsty aggressor?”
“Yes, Sasha, in general it’s so. A grid on Mars means the possibility of violent death, a cross is a sign of defeat in the struggle. If there’s cross also on the Mind line, then there is a great danger of an accident with a head injury.”
“Mars is not to be trifled with! So, the last one in the list of Hills?”
“The MOON. It’s located under Mercury and Mars. The temperament is pure melancholic or phlegmatic in half. The Moon is in charge of intuition and the inner world. It’s responsible for sensitivity, dreams, sentimentality. It can also mean extrasensory abilities, a tendency to mysticism. If the Hill is smooth without lines or is not manifested at all, the Consciousness in a person prevails over the Subconscious, intuition is not developed. A large number of lines give out a restless character, a lot of doubts in life, negative premonitions. An excessive Moon means sadness, despair, constant discontent, vigorous fantasy, unsatisfied dreams, superstition, as well as a predisposition to mental and nervous illness. A cross on the Moon means the possibility of self-deception and, if the Mind Line goes down in this place, the danger from Water. A grid on the Moon speaks of anxiety, lack of energy, or hysteria.”
“Daphne, I hope you are not threatened by water at least in this life?”
“We’ll see. The middle of the palm in China is considered the Field of the Five Stars. If there are few lines, but they are clear, it speaks of wisdom, common sense, and a balanced character. If the area is blurred or there are many small lines on it, there is not enough self-confidence, one’s talents are poorly developed.”
“Alice, I don’t remember anything anymore. I should have asked you about this with a pen and my notepad at hand!”
“Your Subconscious has recorded everything safely, don’t worry.”
“What can you tell us about Lines?”
“There are major and minor lines. There are three main ones: the Life Line, the Mind Line and the Heart Line. As a rule, everyone has them. The LIFE LINE in China is called the Earth Line, it speaks of the personal life, its main events – ups and downs, successes and failures. It also indicates health and vitality. If there is a gap, connected by a square, the disease can be cured. In general, a broken Line means a lot of difficulties in life. By the way, you can take a look at my Life Line on the left and on the right palms.”
“Wow! On your left, it’s all in gaps, or rather, you don’t have a Line as such, just small lines and crosses. How did you manage so, Daphne?”
“Alice, can you say something else about health related to this Line?”
“An island is important there, since on the Life Line it shows a predisposition to various diseases, depending on the part it manifested itself.”
“Sasha, do you have any islands there?”
“No, and you, Svetlana?”
“Neither do I… Let’s go on!”
“The LINE of the MIND, or Head Line, or the Heavenly Line in Chinese. It speaks of whether a person has a practical or creative mind, in which areas he can apply his abilities, indicates events related to mental achievements. You can determine the predisposition to mental problems. A flat horizontal Mind Line along the entire palm is a sign of a psychic or schizophrenic. A gap means that a person doesn’t follow his Path, doesn’t reveal his potential. A cross on the Line speaks of diseases of the head. Any island shows a tendency to mental overstrain, for example, located under Jupiter – due to excessive ambitions, under Saturn – due to suspiciousness, self-digging, under the Sun – due to vanity, under Mercury – due to tricks in the commercial sphere.”
“Daphne, I bet your Mind Line is straight horizontal along the entire palm!”
“Alice, go on telling us about the other Lines, since it’s clear that you have it like that.”
“The third of the main ones is the LINE of the HEART, the Chinese call it the Human Line. In general, it shows the emotional state of a person, his attachments, relationship experiences, how much he can love and express his feelings. A gap indicates difficulties in communicating with loved ones. And, of course, the heart in this case is also considered as a physical organ. The Line shows a predisposition to heart disease, in particular, an island at the very beginning. If the three main lines on the palm are deep and continuous, the person will have a successful life without much sorrow.”
“Does at least one such person exist in the world? What about the Line of Destiny?”
“As a rule, many people have that LINE of DESTINY, or the Jade Pillar. It goes down from Saturn. I don’t have it at all on my left palm, but there is a very interesting line on my right palm. It has two branches, after a certain distance, both of them break off at approximately the same segment, and in the middle between them, the third begins and goes up to the wrist.”
“Did they tell you about it in India, saying that you must change your Path or die at a certain age?”
“Exactly.”
“Oh, Daphne, what kind of Path is this? The Stone Wall would better take you under its protection, so that you won’t run away to the monastery!”
“Alice, what does the Line of Destiny mean?”
“Sometimes it contains more information than all the other lines put together. Greatest events, changes in life, one’s consciousness, life stages. An island on it means a tendency to betray. An island at the end of the line makes possible blows of fate at the end of the earthly life. If the Line ends with a trident or a star, the destiny of such person is very unusual.”
“Daphne, let me see, my intuition tells me… Exactly! I’ll be clear-seeing soon, there’s a trident! I just can’t understand, why you have no Line of Destiny on your left palm?”
“How should I know, Sasha. But I have a magical sign of the Mystical Cross between the Line of Mind and the Line of Heart, it means the ability to mysticism, esotericism and the gift of prophecy, look here!”
“It’s easier for you, Daphne, to say what you don’t have on your palms! You can be read for years!”
“Alice, tell me more about the other lines, please.”
“The other lines are less common. The SUN LINE, for example, goes down from the Hill of the Sun, means the Line of Six Graces in China and brings the owner six successes: wealth, reputation, family happiness, excellent status at work, healthy children and a high level of spirituality. If the Line is clear and straight, the person is satisfied and feels happy. It also reflects success and achievements in a career, family and other spheres. A cross on the Line of the Sun speaks of obstacles on the way.”
“I have a line on Venus, what does it mean?”
“There may be several of them, or there may not be at all. They are called LINES of INFLUENCE, located on Venus Hill, somewhat curved or parallel to the Life Line. Their number indicates how many people with a significant impact on your life one’s has. Some believe it’s about guardian angels or help from the Higher Forces.”
“Oh, that’s great! I have the help of the Higher Forces! Sasha, what about you?”
“On one palm, I have as many as two! Daphne, asking you is a waste of time, right?”
“Yes, I have them on both palms. The Health Line is the same rare. It’s better not to have it. For example, I don’t have it. The Line goes down from Mercury and indicates frequent illnesses. It’s difficult to interpret it, because it’s constantly changing, but in any case, it means one’s predisposition to certain diseases.”
“Does only Venus speak of marriage?”
“No, there are small Lines of Marriage and Lines of Children. They say the number of husbands, wives, children. They can even indicate the age of marriage. If there are several husbands, then the age for each one, and which of the spouses will be the first to leave for Another Reality. This information can be read as well.”
“So, Daphne, show me yours, I really want to make sure that you won’t leave for a monastery!”
“Sasha, didn’t you conjure the Stone Wall for Alice? Or was it the Stone Wall of a monastery?”
“What cruel jokes you have, Svetlana! Okay, Daphne, go ahead, you’ll show me your palms later.”
“Well, it seems I have already said all the basics. There are still so-called bracelets on the wrists. It’s better to have a Magic Bracelet, it consists of three bracelets. It’s desirable that they run parallel to each other and have no gaps. A cross on the bracelets indicates the possibility of receiving an inheritance.”
“Confess me, ladies, who has the Magic Bracelet with a cross?”
“I don’t have a cross, Sasha, just bracelets on both wrists,” I laughed.
“I have it only on one, Alice.”
“Daphne, you yourself are a huge inheritance, no, HERITAGE! Is there anything else to be analyzed?”
“They also look at the branches of the main lines. It’s good, if they are directed upwards.”
“What if downwards?”
“Failures in certain areas. Signs are analyzed both on the Hills and on the Lines, and standing alone.”
“So what does standing alone mean?”
“No common meaning. You should look at each separately and all together. In general, triangles are favorable as a sign of success, testifying to the superiority of a person over others in a particular area, one’s outstanding abilities. It’s better to have tridents, always a great sign. The squares, wherever, mean the protection of the Higher Forces, they eliminate negative information in the area, on the Hills or on the Lines, improving their qualities.”
“And the islands worsen?”
“Yes. An island can say that a person will be close to success, but at the last moment he slips, falls, wakes up and finds himself in gypsum.”
“The elbow is close, but you won’t bite it.”
“Like that. A cross is always interpreted differently depending on its location. It can mean hesitation, indecision. A grid is even worse, it’s a warning about something negative. A series of dots predicts success in the Hills areas. But the dots themselves, especially dark ones, indicate trouble or illness of a physical organ, depending on the zone where the dots are located.”
“Is that so because each zone of the palm is responsible for some area of the body?”
“Quite right. Acupuncture is based on this knowledge.”
“Daphne, your palms are all in the stars. I’ve seen them, don’t deny!”
“Stars are a good sign, except for located on the fingertips on the inside of the palm. I’ve already mentioned that. At the end of the Lines, the stars indicate important events in life.”
“You’ve got stars on almost every planet, Daphne!”
“Alice, show Sasha your most beautiful, five-pointed one.”
I held out my palm and poked my finger into it.
“Daphne! How can this be? Well, it’s incredible! A real proper five-pointed star! Who engraved it for you?!”
“You know, Sasha, it appeared suddenly, just a few years ago. I worked together with Svetlana at that time.”
“I even remember under what circumstances it manifested itself for Alice!”
“What does that mean, Daphne?”
“Only one thing: each person creates his own destiny every second, and no palmistry has power over this.”
We reached the hotel. After breakfast we had a trip to a monastery.
