CHAPTER 10.2. The PATH

Sasha and I were walking on the glass on the Roof. The weather turned bad. Soon a sandstorm would come there, and then it would rain.

“Daphne, everyone says to ‘get on the Path’ of some kind, to find a Teacher. Am I on the path or on the side of it?”

“Each of us is on the Path, Sasha, but each – on his own. The Teacher appears at the moment when you are ready to become a Student, ready to accept Knowledge. Everyone has their own Teacher. You are attracted to him by vibrations, the kinship of Souls. Then a Silver Thread is formed between you. One day you’ll realize that the Teacher is always nearby, even when he is somewhere on the other side of the globe or… already in Another Reality. I sometimes communicate with RAM in my sleep. I know that she is always nearby.”

“What should the Teacher do for the Student?”

“Help find their Path. Transfer Knowledge. Encourage us to move forward so that we don’t stop at what we have achieved. The Teacher must be Light in order to teach us to bring Light into the world. The Teacher is also responsible for the Students until they become Teachers themselves. In fact, there is always one Teacher, it’s God, who sends us mentors on the Path.”

“Which path is mine?”

“Listen to your heart. As many people as many Paths. You can’t just tell a person at random which Path to follow. Everyone has to choose it themselves. What is your goal? What do you want to get as a result? Many experience curiosity or a desire to master magical paranormal abilities. Someone is disappointed with the Earthly Reality, so they run to Another one. Ask yourself just one question, ‘Who am I?’”

“A good question.”

“Yes, it looks like a simple one. And I’ve been trying to answer it all my life, but so far I have not been able to.”

“Is that why the Teachers sometimes give completely contradictory advice to different people?”

“Yes, but they are right, everything is purely individual, and what is good for one is harmful for another. Each of us has our own inclinations, talents, abilities, characteristics, circumstances of our life, age, environment, and so on. St. Seraphim of Sarov not only fasted, but always kept silence on Fridays. At the same time, he told those who came to him that it was not necessary to undertake feats beyond measure. Spiritual things must be given to the Spirit, and bodily things to the body. After all, the body is a house for the Spirit, a tool of the Soul, so the body must be healthy in order to do good deeds in the Earthly Reality. A girl with poor health came to the elder, so he told her instead of fasting to eat hard, sleep for 10 hours, come to the end of the liturgy. ‘She is about to leave for Heaven alive, she must be kept here by her feet.’ Fasting for the body means nothing without Spiritual fasting. The internal is more important than the external. Extremes are harmful. Teachers outline a safe corridor along which it’s best for a given person to move forward, and suggest a shorter Path to the goal.”

“You once spoke about the Ladder.”

“Stairway to Heaven. On the one hand, it’s endless, because there is no limit to self-improvement. On the other hand, they talk about 8 steps or the eightfold Path in Buddhism, about the doctrine of 7 stations in Sufism, there are 7 symbolic gates in Theosophy. In Agni Yoga, the Path has 12 stages and is divided into 3 years and 7 years, as periods of time that fix the changes of the Student. The main thing is not to stop on the Staircase and not to jump up, jumping over the steps. If you slip, you fall. And the higher you climb, the more crosses they send you.”

“What kind of crosses?”

“Heavy ones, Sasha. They hang them on your shoulders, as if they put stones in your backpack. Step by step, it gets harder and harder to walk.”

Sasha looked into the sky.

“No, Sasha, this ladder is inside the person.”

“Daphne, what do you think the person on the Stairs needs to do… at least?”

“To find God.”

“I wish I hadn’t asked! How to find God? God is invisible!”

“There are several options. The Path of the Mind is when a person, whatever he meets on his Path, says, ‘This is not God!’ Each of us has many faces, many little selves inside. In different situations, in different years of life, we are different. But when you put away all your ‘faces’, you become who you really are – Everyone and Everything, the All.”

“And the second Path, is it the Path of the Heart?”

“Yes. Whatever a person meets on his Path, he says, ‘God is hidden in you!’ And in every stone, every blade of grass, animal, bird, in the rain, in the fog, in every human being, in everything there is God. Knowing this, you realize the conditionality of the division into ‘you’ and ‘I’. Then it brings you to Divine Love for the whole world. The second Path is closer to me. Therefore, when I communicate with people, I mentally try to find their Divine Self in them. ‘I looked for God in you and turned to Him in you’…”

“Did you find Him?”

“Sometimes the Divine is hidden too deeply, so that you can’t get through to it.”

“Listen, but how to get to a certain goal on the Stairs as quickly as possible?”

“The Path is chosen for the sake of the Path itself. Don’t focus on the goal. Focus on the process, so you’ll get the result faster. This is called the paradox of the Buddha’s Path. He wanted badly to get immediate liberation from the Earthly Reality – to get into nirvana, but his strong desire prevented him from achieving the result. As soon as he let go of the desire, it immediately came true.”

“So you’ll meet the Stone Wall when you stop waiting for it. Right?”

“As soon as I start to finish my book, he’ll appear.”

“What a horror! This is a nightmarish dilemma! What will you do, Daphne?”

“I’ll finish the book. Let Him read it as I write it, to get to know me and see whether He is mistaken or not.”

“Is He a part of your Path or not?”

“Am I a part of His Path or not? A person on the Path is never in a hurry. At first, he does his best, and then, regretting nothing, relaxes and allows the Higher Forces to put a dot or a comma, or ellipsis in each specific situation. The Path is determined by the Divine Spirit, I follow it. You have to trust the Higher Forces, Sasha. As St. Paisios of Athos said to a woman, ‘Hold on to the skirt of the Virgin Mary’. God always knows better what is best for each of us. We must accept our Destiny. And if we start resisting the Divine Providence, we won’t only waste our strength, we’ll be punished for it. We have to be patient. First, we choose the Path ourselves, we follow it, and then the Path leads us. The further we go, the more it determines our life. At least I chose my own Path myself and I have no one to complain about.”

“Daphne, when you return home, start your Book immediately! To pay off your Heavenly Debts as soon as possible. I have already conjured the Stone Wall for you here, so he’ll appear soon, and you’ll torture him! It won’t be good. He has absolutely nothing to do with it, it’s you who owes us. Daphne, do you believe me that he will appear?”

“One who follows his own Path becomes a Magician, because he believes in miracles like a child. So they are happening. You just need to know what you really want. The thought is material. If you conjured sincerely, he will definitely appear. Thought transforms the world. Somewhere I read an amazing phrase about magicians: when the world collapses, they admit that it collapses, adding immediately, ‘but still…’ And the world is built anew. Therefore, sometimes one has to be a rock on the Path, sometimes – like water flowing around an obstacle and taking any form in order to maintain peace of mind. The main thing is to remember that the end doesn’t justify the means, Good cannot use the methods of Evil.”

“We were doing White Magic then, Daphne! What else is important for the Traveler?”

“To conquer fear. Don’t be afraid of anything. Even if you seem crazy to someone. I’m not very good at it. I’m afraid of a lot of things, but it’s a secret.”

“People are much more afraid than those Many Things you are afraid of. You don’t have the fears that most people have. Those black-fat-hairy ones with many paws and something on their backs, are nothing compared to the Fear of the Own Death.”

“Whoever looked Death in the eyes at least once, is no longer afraid of it and perceives life in a completely different way. You remember that Death is always there. As soon as the inner balance is disturbed, look immediately to the left, and Death puts a lot of smart thoughts into your mind. It turns Knowledge into real Power. When you live every day as if your last day, balancing over the abyss, where your every step on the chessboard is a game with Death, you perform actions, different from the other people.”

“I don’t remember who, Daphne, but apparently someone smart said, ‘A button lives for real if it goes into a loop every day’.”

“Well, a person, unlike a button, doesn’t need to go into a loop. Each of us must fulfill our destiny given from Above, but we have to be ready to die at any moment. Although Death, as a rule, waits for the Magician exactly as long as he needs to complete his earthly affairs. God will always give you time to create something very important for the world. Time is the greatest value for the Magician.”

“Did Death tell you that?”

“Yes. Time is an illusion, because it always flows at a different speed. Time can be compressed. And sometimes the Magician goes through so much in one day that his day is like a lifetime. Every moment is important, and you begin to use and feel time differently.”

“What do you mean?”

“Trying not to waste it.”

“Have you ever compressed time?”

“Ray taught me how to get things done in an impossible time according to the Earthly standards. Once he told me to be on the Bridge in 20 minutes. He knew it would take me, at best, at least an hour, or even an hour and a half. I tried to explain that he was asking the impossible of me. But Ray said in an absolutely impassive voice, ‘Time has started…’ and hung up.”

“Did you get there in 20 minutes?”

“In 30. I moved in space 2 times faster, but Ray was angry. He looked at his watch, yawned and told me that he had already managed to sleep three times in 10 minutes of my being late.”

“A stern teacher! And how often did you move around like that?”

“Sometimes, when I really needed to get somewhere urgently. In fact, in those situations it was, relatively speaking, a matter of life and death. Once I was about to miss my plane. Usually, I could get to the place two times faster or two and a half. But one spends too much energy on such things. You don’t need to do this unless it’s critical to be late.”

“So how did you do it?”

“I don’t know. It seems like passing through layers of space and time. It’s like opening a door or penetrating through walls and sliding on planes. All the people around are in one dimension, but you come out of it and move differently. At the same time, I never look at my watch while travelling. Only at the beginning and when I’m already there. I think this is important. And while moving, I’m like a string inside. I have just one thought in my mind: I will be there at that time. When I told Hera about such movements, she was shocked, because it’s indeed Magic and quite rare. But the Spirit has power over both space and time. It’s important to go beyond the templates of the World Description, to raise the priority of the laws of Another Reality, where everything is possible.”

“Should a person rewrite all programs?”

“It’s necessary to come to the understanding that the standards, stereotypes, templates, programs related to the Earthly Reality are an illusion, an invention of people. They say, ‘It’s the way to be done here’. Break the vicious circle, including your habitual behavior. Try to behave differently, not according to the pattern, improvise, look at the world with different eyes, from the outside, from the position of an observer, stay outside of what is happening. Or turn into a mirror, reflecting everything around and don’t catch your eye, because perfection is always imperceptible, and imperfection exposes itself.”

“It’s simple.”

“Actually, it’s hard. Because people around will feel you subconsciously. Whether you like it or not, one way or another, you’ll influence them. Even if you keep silent and remain invisible. Your radiation will become too pure and powerful. At the same time, you no longer judge others, you have no prejudices. The opinion of other people cannot change yours if you feel that you are right. Your truth will seem them like a fiction, because nothing is so deceptive in appearance as the truth. But you no longer argue, you prove nothing to anyone. You don’t want to be or seem to be anyone else. You are who and what you are. You share your thoughts along the Path to Truth, which is unchanging.”

“Let’s say, I rewrote my templates. What else can be done?”

“One learns to erase the past, to discard the unnecessary. You of yesterday is not You of today. You of today is something much more than You of yesterday. We cling too much to the temporary, the mundane, the petty. Look at things from above, detached.”

“And what unnecessary things can be discarded if I don’t leave for a monastery?”

“It’s up to everyone to decide for themselves. The most important thing in life is Time. Determine what you spend time and energy on, but what you can refuse. For example, someone reads everything, so one should limit oneself to a certain area of literature. Someone watches TV from morning till night, someone hangs out on social networks. People don’t mind wasting their time on nothing worthy. Leave only what is really important to you. So you’ll begin to live in your own atmosphere, in your Reality.”

“It’s also needed to get closer to nature, right?”

“When you feel your kinship with the whole world – with grass, birds, everything that is around, you’ll see God. And then the desires of the personal Ego will subside and give way to the Spirit, which will teach you to help others without demanding anything in return. Don’t pity them, just help and support them, because everyone has to go through the trials that are sent to him for some reason from Above. Don’t tolerate people as they are, just love them with Divine Love, precisely Divine, not possessive. Allow them to be themselves, so that each of them can walk their own path. One day you will be filled with Light. And if serving the world becomes more important to you than serving yourself, you’ll become a Warrior of Light.”

“But not everyone can become a Warrior of Light, can they?”

“Everyone can if they want. As well as a Student. A student is one who admits that he knows too little and is willing to learn. He is open to new knowledge. Every situation, every person, everything around teaches him. In fact, we are all here both Students and Teachers at the same time.”

“But shouldn’t the Students be similar to each other if they all are going towards the Truth?”

“Each of us is a Student, but at the same time, each of us is unique. No need to become a copy of your travel Companion.”

“Daphne, I’ve read that on the Path one must not drink alcohol, must not smoke, must not eat meat and so on. Is there no way without this?”

“The Path is the inner state. The external observance of certain rules is of secondary importance. I’m not talking about the excesses in the things you’ve listed, they are harmful to everyone. But if you decide that the Earthly Reality is a passed stage, you’ll leave for a monastery. Of course, the rules are stricter there. However, at that stage, you won’t want meat, for example. After becoming a monk, life changes even more radically, in fact, you start it all over again at a completely different level. You’ll even get a new name.”

“Why even more radically?”

“Because your life will be changed, even if you don’t leave for a monastery. You won’t be able to live the way as before. Any change inside a person will change his whole life. You’ll automatically attract other energies. Do you know what will happen at the beginning of the Path?”

“What?”

“You’ll stop lying. You won’t be able to utter a single false word anymore. Because you’ll realize that every word of yours, as well as a thought, is written in the Book of Life, in the Astral Tablets. You’ll become more silent in general. You’ll listen to the inner voice that speaks silently, look for the Cause in everything. And then you’ll learn to see and hear what others don’t see and hear, starting with the signs or prompts of the Spirit on your Path, and ending with what is available exclusively to the Spiritual Vision. At some point, you’ll be very, very hurt.”

“Why?”

“You’ll become too sensitive. It’s called hyperesthesia. Your psychic sensitivity will rise to the level of physical pain. Harsh and disharmonious sounds will hit your ears so hard that you want to run. And any careless word of another person, not to mention rudeness or irritation, will wound you like a knife. Your hearing will be sharpened many times over and will begin to catch even sounds far, far, far away. And the slightest odors, inaccessible to the smell of others, will bring you information. You’ll see something that hurts you. You’ll want to close your Third Eye, like the earthly eyes, but you can’t. You’ll feel people and their thoughts without words. You’ll address to their Higher Self, but you’ll face their Lower, Selfish, Dark Side. Moreover, you won’t be able to stay in some places or even in cities or countries where you’ll feel negative energy. So you’ll want to escape from your Knowledge, Vision and Feelings in order to become like everyone else, or to escape from people, from the Earthly Reality to Another one, because your pain will seem unbearable. It’s like being skinned. You’ll want to howl, since wherever you run, nothing will change. Your strength is in your sensitivity.”

“Daphne, you’ve been through this, haven’t you?”

“Everyone on the Path goes through this sooner or later. In Agni Yoga, they say that at the moment of refinement a person has a violet aura. The rays of this color are the most remote from the spectrum of the Earthly Reality. Then a certain spiritual protection is developed, and a ruby tint appears in the aura. However, loneliness is inevitable.”

“Why?”

“The inscription on Chekhov’s ring said, ‘There is desert everywhere to the lonely one’. Even if you don’t tell anyone about yourself, people will read you subconsciously. A different person cannot help but stand out from the common background. Like attracts like and repels something alien, so you’ll feel like an outcast in the Earthly Reality. But loneliness will push you forward and provide an opportunity for further development. When you completely despair, the Higher Forces will definitely send people really close to you.”

“You’ll be definitely sent such people, just wait with the monastery.”

“I’m waiting, Sasha. I am talking to you.”

“What else is happening along the way on the Path?”

“Due to the fact that a person on the Path transfers energy from the Lower Triangle (under the Diaphragm) to the Upper Triangle (above the Diaphragm), in case of disharmony between the Earthly and Another Realities, all sorts of illnesses can appear. In Hermetic doctrine, the awakening of powerful spiritual energies and excessive stimulation of the upper three, unprepared for this, chakras – the Throat, the Third Eye and the Thousand Petal – was considered one of the causes of the Students’ illnesses. The main problems are related to the heart and blood. Occultists often have cataracts. The thyroid and throat diseases can appear too. Dream hackers can have the destruction of bone tissue and liver. Buddhists call the latter Chan or subtle disease. It’s recommended to drink green tea with honey, decoction of thyme and flaxseed, vitamin B1, which activates the processes of brain activity. Many illnesses of the Students are not treated by traditional medicine, and indeed they are not treated at all without harmonization of the energy background. As a rule, one should try to do something important for the world.”

“A horror movie, Daphne.”

“Did you think they would cover your Path with rose petals? You know, it’s very difficult for a person on the Path to balance between Another and the Earthly Realities. It’s easier when you’re either completely There or Here. Combining both is the most difficult task. You seem to live two lives in one, but in parallel. No one has freed you from the Earthly Reality. The Spirit wants one thing, the body wants something completely different, and the Soul rushes between them. Moreover, as a rule, there is a problem with money, since the Consciousness turns towards Another Reality, where money doesn’t exist in principle. One needs to be able to attract earthly financial flows without submitting to their negative influence. And one’s job should be chosen so that not to turn out to become an employee of the Forces of Darkness.”

“I’m even afraid to ask what professions are on the black list. Better tell me, does the Path protect you from the Forces of Evil?”

“The task of the Forces of Evil is to promote the spread of Evil. Do you think they benefit from a person of Light?”

“Of course not.”

“That’s it. Therefore, they try in every possible way to lead the Students and Warriors of Light astray. The higher a person has climbed the Stairway to Heaven, the more often he is attacked by the Forces of Darkness. They will pursue him relentlessly and set trips at every step. Many people fall, stop, turn back, become Black Magicians, because it’s easier to be Black on the Earth.”

“Why does it happen?”

“We are weak. It’s hard to be pink and fluffy, especially living among others. Only the Saints eradicated their Lower Self completely. What’s if you have no money and starve, and they will offer you a job from the black list? But you can’t blame anyone. Everyone will answer for themselves anyway.”

“So how to protect myself from the attacks of Evil?”

“Like attracts like. Remember this axiom. The main thing, Sasha, as it seems to me, is to try to be as bright and light as possible. In this case, there will be nothing for the Evil Ones to cling to in you. The Spiritual should at least slightly prevail over the Earthly. It’s not about us to become Saints. Look to the Sky, reaching for the Divine with your Soul. Help others, do good deeds without asking for rewards. Forgive everyone and thank God for what is given to you from Above.”

“Listen, Daphne, I know, this does not threaten me, but still… One has reached the end of the Path or Stairs, what’s then?”

“The one who has received the Knowledge passes it on to others. Living Water should not be stagnant. While teaching others, we continue to learn ourselves.”

“And after this?”

“And after this, one is given a choice, a difficult choice.”

“Which one, Daphne?”

“He may never return to the Earthly Reality again, because he has travelled his Path from beginning to end and passed the Exam of Life getting only excellent marks. But there, in the Earthly Reality, there are still millions of those who continue to climb the Stairway to Heaven. And the Forces of Darkness are fighting with the Forces of Light for each of them.”

“So, does he come back to the Earth only in order to…?”

“Yes, Sasha, only in order to…”

We both fell silent. Sasha sighed heavily and looked at me sadly. I walked a few more times on the broken glass, the last time on that roof. And then RAM called us into the hall.
