Художник Аркадий Гершевич Острицкий в настоящее время живёт и работает в Израиле. Родился он в Молдавии, в Кишинёве, в 1948 году. С детства его привлекали яркость красок и секреты светотени, о которых много рассказывал ему отец, известный в Молдавии изобретатель. После окончания школы, когда встал вопрос о выборе профессии, Аркадий решил стать архитектором и поступил в Строительный техникум. Но, проучившись там два года, понял, что архитектура — это не то, чем он хочет заниматься всю жизнь, слишком узкая сфера для его творческой натуры.
Изначально он учился в Республиканском художественном училище им. И. Репина в Кишинёве. В то время это было единственное учебное заведение в Молдавии, готовившее художников-живописцев. Окончив училище в 1972 году, Аркадий работал в различных областях искусства, проявил себя в анимации, театральной коммерческой рекламе, городском дизайне, книжной графике, преподавал рисунок и скульптуру в Республиканском Дворце пионеров, клубах и кружках. В течение нескольких лет выставлял свои акварели в Центральном выставочном зале Союза художников Молдовы. Участвовал в республиканских и всесоюзных художественных выставках. В 1988 году, в возрасте 40 лет, поступил на художественно-графический факультет Педагогического института им. И. Крянгэ, где проучился два года.

 Arkady Gershevich Ostritsky currently lives and works in Israel. And he was born in Moldova, in the city of Chisinau in 1948. In 1988, at the age of 40, he entered the art and graphic faculty of the Pedagogical Institute. I. Creanga, where he studied for two years.

In 1991, Arkady Ostritsky moved to Israel. Over the years, he has painted hundreds of paintings, designed a number of books, created about a thousand drawings for the film “The Burning Blackthorn Bush” (1st channel T.V. dir. Kh. Kalev), worked as an art director at the Artima animation film studio, designed Tanakh textbook for secular schools (published by Ed-Artsi, Tel Aviv, 1999), etc. He taught fine arts in schools and yeshivas.
Today he is a member of the board of the Association of Professional Artists of Israel and a member of the International Association of Arts, created by UNESCO.
