Life s school!
Hydrogen adepts far away.
From the distant, far-off provinces
Come both tidings and dismay.
We once lived together, close at hand,
In the USSR — one big family.
Proudly marching toward unknown lands,
Carried by our mother Earth, you see.
We were dreaming, we were creating,
Hydrogen era, real and true,
Pushing forward paths, ideas, knowledge,
Hope’s light, faith, and dreams anew.
Chorus:
Of an era seen, where dream’s not merely phrase,
But reality in old photograph’s embrace.
«Eternity» submerges us, unending,
Nature of our shared biography, extending!
Some became a top-ranked academician
In Philadelphia, at the world’s edge.
Some — a great professor, without question,
In South Africa or on Bali’s ledge.
Others in Canada have sunk
Into ranks of forms that won’t decay.
Life flows on, relentless, never shrunk,
Sweeping all away, like tempest’s sway.
In the photo — faces, names we know,
Without patronymics, surnames, sometimes.
But in heart — the memory still glows,
Like a light above dark fates that climb.
New fighters in the market place
Shove with elbows, claim their space.
Competition — like a battle’s roar,
Each one runs their engine, evermore.
But time — a stern machine, no doubt,
Waits for none, shows no remorse.
In the whirlwind of days that fade and flout,
Wishes but one thing for all, of course…
Chorus:
Of an era seen, where dream’s not merely phrase,
But reality in old photograph’s embrace.
«Eternity» submerges us, unending,
Nature of our shared biography, extending!
