Against the backdrop of a burning oil depot, two Russian Orthodox priests talk to the patriarch.
Patriarch:
— I can’t quite discern — what is that image hanging there?
First priest:
— It’s Svarozhich, the Slavic god of fire. Very effective!
Second priest:
— Christ let us down…
Patriarch:
— Does it really work? Hmm… Very good. We’ll hide this pagan heresy under a fig leaf: the icon will remain, but from now on it will be called Saint Nicholas the Firefighter.
