Where lies the power? Does it dwell in tin? A chime that strikes in tune with every soul; In robes of script, it bids the new begin, While common life assumes a grander role. Where lies the power? Is it in the breeze? That carries rumors over peak and brine; From heart to heart, across the charts and seas, It drapes the dross in spirit, pure and fine. Where lies the power? Is it in the spark? A fire of Mine that cleanses every stain; It burns away the rot within the dark. "I triumphed!" I cry out through the rain. Where lies the power? In the water's flow? To heal the wound and be the desert's dew; From God above, His cooling loves bestow Their grace on every place and always new. Though dear the road, the heavy price is paid, So in the wastes, a joyful peace we find. The Word is set; the firm foundation laid. Amen. The seal is fixed upon the mind.
