The Causes and Sources of Evil. Edited Text
The main condition for the survival and existence of any living organism is actions aimed at satisfying its needs at the expense of the surrounding world, regardless of whether this will harm everything else and other living organisms or not. Thus, one growing plant blocks another from the sun, without caring that it may die. This is EGOISM, which is inherent in people! According to the survival program that God gave to people, the source of evil is egoism, when a person puts himself and his desires first, and this harms another person. But this is evil. That is, the source of evil is egoism. The creation of man (or another living organism) is impossible without man committing evil. Can we conclude from this that God should not have created all living things? Of course, such a conclusion would be wrong.
A person's personal choice between good and evil is very important both for the person and for God. Many texts in the Bible prove this, starting with Cain's murder of Abel. However, the Bible does NOT contain words stating that God GAVE man the right to choose in everything, including committing murder. God never had such a plan for murders and other sins of people. God allows a person the right to choose an action, but this does not mean that God agrees with a person's choice of sin. People commit sins and evil in their actions, and they do so out of their selfishness, starting with Adam and Eve. God condemns all the sins of people.
After the fall, the human spirit began to contain a sinful spirit, a spirit of temptation, of fulfilling not the Word of God, but its own whims – everything that pleases our body and our soul. This is also one of the reasons for a person's commission of evil.
IT IS EASIER FOR A BELIEVING PERSON TO AVOID THIS EVIL. Evil is a consequence of immoral actions in a person's life. To avoid them, a person must exercise their will.
The history of the emergence of conscience and morality in man begins with the acquisition of the concept of good and evil after the commission of original sin by Adam and Eve. Before committing sin, they did not need a conscience in their lives, since they did not commit evil. The concept of good and evil is defined by God, in His book the Bible, for man and is the basis for the concept and formation of morality.
However, there is another opinion among people about the cause of evil: the enemy of man, the devil, is to blame for everything, having sown weeds – evil people. Here is my answer from the Bible to this: In the Bible, "weeds" are weeds that symbolize evil and wicked people, and "wheat" – righteous people, and they grow together in the world UNTIL THE HARVEST (the end of the age), when the angels will separate them to burn the weeds and gather the wheat into the Kingdom of God, as described in the famous parable of Jesus Christ about the good seed and the weeds in the Gospel of Matthew. The essence of the Parable (Matthew 13:24-30): The Sower: The Son of Man (Jesus Christ). The Field: The World. Good seed: Sons of the Kingdom (good people). Weeds: Sons of the wicked one (evil people). The enemy: The Devil. The harvest: The end of the age (the end of time). The reapers: God's angels.
Symbolic meaning: This parable explains why good and evil people coexist in the world, and why one should not immediately try to destroy the wicked, so as not to harm the good people. The final separation of the righteous and the wicked will occur at the end of time, when the wicked will be cast into the fire, and the righteous will shine in the Kingdom of the Father. According to the Bible, the source of evil in wicked people is SELFISHNESS. It must be eradicated according to the Word of God!
