We are like fallen birds
Afraid to fly so high.
We are afraid to fall in love again,
Just to fall from the sky.
Falls and take-offs,
Happiness through tears,
Blind, intoxicating love,
That drowns all our fears.
And there is nothing else now,
Nothing but our love's fragile thread.
There is nothing else in this world,
Worth living for, it's said.
We used to be so different once,
We weren't afraid to soar and fly.
But someone clipped the wings of our love,
And now we're just scared to die.
Once, we were drunk on a smile,
Now, it's just wine that we crave.
On these clipped and broken wings,
We'll never fly high again.
