A Classroom Planned for Learning

The Earth is becoming a very dangerous place for children. It doesn't matter where a child is born, adults fight with each other everywhere and children suffer from that, sometimes even from the very first day. That is why it would be nice for them to spend their early childhood at a place somewhere outside the Earth, where they can be safe, happy and prepared for the future life.
One of such places can be a child care center called "Blue sky." This center includes different areas where children are supposed to develop their skills and acquire the knowledge that will be necessary for life on Earth.

THE ART AREA will teach children how to find beauty everywhere and create it where there is no beauty at all. This area will help them to develop their imagination and express different ideas. This area contains an easel, table with chairs, paints, brushes, large paper, crayons, scissors, glue, clay, play dough, scraps of cloth, construction paper, sponges and a place for drying pictures. There is a sink in this area too. That is very convenient during painting, finger-painting or foot painting.

Next to the area there is A WATER AND SAND PLAY CENTER. This center is also required to be next to the source of water. There is nothing more. This center is necessary for children. more important for human life and body than water. Nobody can live without water. Water can turn a dry disser into a blossoming garden and lack of water turns the beautiful garden into an empty ugly place.
The stormy water of an ocean can be dangerous and mean. On the other hand, the calm water of a deep lake creates a great place around itself.
Water falls frightens and simultaneously fascinates us with its force and power. Water is a source of so many different emotions and takes such a big part in human life that contact playing with it gives water of significance for children. them a lot of relaxation and enjoyment. Water play also allows them to acquire knowledge of quantity, water area capacity and some knowledge of math and science.
Water area contains: a plastic pool, metal tub, spoons, shovels, trucks, cars, boats, plastic containers, sifters for sand, plastic smocks, plastic containers, objects to float and sink, soap suds, food coloring, piece of hose, funnel, measuring cups.

LIBRARY CENTER is a quiet, carpeted, comfortable place full of beautiful interesting books with colorful pictures. The pur- pose of this area is to teach children love for books and reading. This love gives children opportunity to know previous experience of humanity, the life of all generations on Earth from the very first day and even mystery of future life. Books and reading open a door to a great world of human wisdom, thoughts and knowledge. The library center also includes puppets. Puppets give children a lot of fun and opportunity to create their own stories and to share them with everybody.

Next to the sand water play there is A BLOCK CENTER. Young children are future engineers, builders, farmers, drivers and so on. The block area can help them to learn a lot of useful concepts. Block building gives children a chance to think, to plan and to solve problems while he moves freely and works with his hands. Building with blocks helps children to understand more about sizes and shapes. It helps them understand what numbers really stand for. When children play in a block center, they work, share and talk with each other. Their language grows along with the understanding of people. This area contains large numbers of unit blocks on the low shelves, small boats, cars, trucks, animals and people.

A HOUSEKEEPING CENTER is not a place for fun.  It is a very serious business. This area helps children to feel like adults and that means a great deal of responsibility and experience. Children have to manage real life situations like cooking, shopping. They are supposed to be doctors, salesmen, managers and so on and also to be like a real parents and take care of their children. In order to play this roles, children are supposed to know how to solve problems, make decisions, work cooperatively and interact with each other smoothly. This center is a rehearsal for their adult life on Earth. This area contains kitchen equipment, dress up clothes, mirrors, dolls, different tools, equipment for different kinds of play.

THE SCIENCE CENTER helps children to know and understand the world on Earth. This center helps them to discover a lot of interesting and useful things and introduces them to the world of animals, fish, and plants. It opens for them some laws of Nature. This area contains fish bowls, balance scales, batteries, magnets, magnifying glass, and growing plants. There is a lot of stuff like bird's nests, sea shells, rocks, leaves, caterpillars and so on.

TABLE ACTIVITIES CENTER allows children to test themselves at problem Matching games solving and also develops their fine motor skills. let children use their abilities to see that certain things go together. Puzzles and peg boards give them practice in coordinating their hands and eyes movements.
This center contains: puzzles, puzzle boards, matching games, stacking toys, counting objects.

MUSIC takes a big part in the life of this community.It is walkmen with headphones which allows children to listen to the music alone in a quiet library center.It can be loud music from big tape-recorder when children get together to listen to different songs and sing themselves or dance in the middle of their room.

At the “Blue Sky” Center, children, with the support of kind and caring teachers, spend their time learning essential skills for their future lives. They learn how to interact with one another, to understand, help, and care for each other, and to appreciate the world around them. Through this process, they also learn to value life on Earth.
