Yes, they do. A tulpa is an intangible, invisible, intelligent living being created from a thoughtform (the latter is neither living nor intelligent) created using magical tools. The process of creating a tulpa is called "tulpamancing".
Tulpa is not a “spiritual robot”; it is relatively independent from the tulpamancer. A very interesting area of tulpamancing is fusion (synergy) of magical and AI technologies – it can produce a visible living being that resides inside the Internet and communicates with whoever it is allowed to communicate with text, sound and visually.
